I’ve been waiting all May for this video. Y’know, why did ESPN never hire you? Keep Allen Bestwick, but fire Cheever and Goodyear, then put David in his place.
SovietOnion well, you'd have to talk to NBC for next year, and btw, I hope Allen Bestwick returns to NBC next year to be the voice of their IndyCar coverage, because he was great at NBC/TNT when NBC first aired NASCAR, he was great at ESPN with their NASCAR coverage (fun fact, in 2013 at Dover, my mother collapsed basically in front of Allen Bestwick, Dale Jarrett and Andy Peachtree as they came down from the booth after the race and we were waiting for the handicap golf cart to give us a ride back to our Mini-Van. Btw, she just collapsed because it was hot that day in Dover and her blood sugar was a bit low, she got checked out at the trackside medical center then we went to get dinner and drove back to Wildwood) he's also great on ESPN's IndyCar coverage and one good announcer for college football, basketball, and (I think) baseball
I'm sure Bestwick is a great guy (as is Eddie and Scottie) but he's too boring to carry the Indy 500. We need someone who will bring excitement. PT and T-Bell should come over from NBC Sports and hopefully Leigh or Bob Jenkins to do the NBC INDY broadcast.
8080q I mean, he's carried both the Verizon/Izod IndyCar series and NASCAR Nextel/Sprint Cup and NASCAR Nationwide/Xfinity series coverage at ESPN/ABC for years now
I'LL echo the soviet onion this is a much better video than what we'll see on the pre race broadcast thanks! As for a prediction... I think the"real"rookie of the year for The 2017 raceis gonna be more than a dark horse.Go 10 go!!
zlinedavid Takuma Sato had a bad reputation for crashing also...and not just at Indy. People are always talking about "the next generation of American IndyCar drivers", yet Karam, Hildebrand and Conner Daly are just sitting on the sidelines. It's not like they are junk has-beens.
Junk has-beens? No, but they're nowhere near the same level as Newgarden, Rossi and Rahal, who are the usual subjects of the "next generation of American IndyCar drivers" conversations. Karam goes way past the line between aggressive and reckless. The only advantage Sage has is that he's still only 23 years old. He's still got some time. Hildebrand never could seem to break through, even in the equivalent of 2+ seasons after his 500 near-miss. Conor probably deserves another shot, as the Foyt cars don't seem to be faring much better this season vs last. As for Sato, he still does have a reputation of being crash prone. He just keeps it closer to the line between aggressiveness and recklessness.
zlinedavid That's hilarious that you compare him/them to drivers that have been given a chance, with full time rides. SURE! That's an easy one. Not to mention that Rahal's career from 2008 to 2015 was pretty lean...and don't get me started on Andretti. I use to be a big fan and now if I see him at an autograph signing or in the garages, I can't come up with anything encouraging to say to him. He's like a male Milka Duno.
It's #Indy500Month were David only focuses on Indy 500 videos and cuts off all other content. For the Monaco Grand Prix, the 2018 F1 bandwagoners guide will suffice as it's pretty safe to say that all the drivers and teams will be the same. IMO the Coke 600 doesn't really deserve a bandwagoners guide.
I think Penske will be really strong espically Will Power and either Newgarden or Helio Castroneves. I think Danica will struggle in the opening laps but will get settled but won't be a huge factor, maybe a top 10 for her.
Great Music as always Dave... Marco gonna disappoint... Wicky gonna surprise everyone, has all year... Helio should be hungry... Sage, Conor gonna wreck out, possibly together... Dixie always a contender... Not gonna be Foyt's year, maybe next year... Rossi should be a Pace Starter... SeaBass makes a Comeback?...
That, my friend, is the vintage starting grid music from ABC's broadcasts of the late 80s/early 90s. Pure nostalgic heaven. Could almost hear Paul Page.
Would like a frenchies to win it. Also, I think Newgarden will win it. He won each even races this season. But that means what it means. A lot of 3rd place finish, fudge!
People are too blinded by hate to realise that Danica was actually really good in Indycar in general. Especially with a win at Motegi and a 3rd place finish at Indianapolis she was great in open wheel.
Hey David! I'm going down to the Sunday qualifying for the first time but I don't know where to park. Do you have any suggestions on where to park? Thanks!
Storm we people. The people that saw how much crashing decreased in Nascar when Danica left. The people who see how arrogant she is with her driving. The people who see that she never takes accountability of her actions, and instead blames the drives arround her. I wanted her to prove me wrong. I want to see her succeed in her return to Indycar. But she needs to earn that from me.
I’m a casual Indycar fan so I don’t necessarily care who wins but I am partial to Dixon or Newgarden. And I know it’s just a pipe dream but it would be awesome to see Tony Stewart run the 19 in the 500.
I think Danica will have speed, she was always good on the ovals in IndyCar, especially at Indianapolis, but she hasn't run in an IndyCar race since that unfortunate race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway that cost Dan Wheldon his life, while Pippa Mann has basically become the female face of IndyCar, and the Indy 500
JemXOX to be fair, Danica hasn't driven this chassis of IndyCar, she's spent the entire time driving Chevrolet Impalas, SS's Camaros and Ford Fusions in NASCAR since the implementation of the DW12 chassis and V6 turbos from Chevrolet and Honda
? Wasdgta3 2nd in 2014 and last year... in a normal situation I would say he would be a favorite, but with the new cars... He will be lucky to finish top 5.
Matthew Templin I think the “new cars” thing is being a bit exaggerated. I don’t think it will be as much of a stumbling block as people think. This is the first time anyone has raced in the new superspeedway aero kit (with the exception of Servia) so it’s somewhat new turf for everyone anyways
? Wasdgta3 True with it being the first time for this package... everyone would be on an even playing field, but given Helio's position in that he has had 2 great chances to win his 4th... is he ever going to do it?
First things first, Helio is going for win #3...and I'm going to say Kyle Kaiser and Conor Daly get bumped. I love Conor, but ovals aren't his thing and he's been out of a car for too long. Judging by the damn near failure to launch today things aren't looking good on the mechanical side for Conor either.

Jacob 8696 Problem is Tony is no longer interested in getting a Indy 500 win as a Driver. As a Owner, maybe (assuming that third OEM materializes and for the right price possibly), but as a driver he himself has declared that he's "Done".
#WeWantBuddyLazier
Danica's career is judged in 2 parts:
1. Tracks where you don't have to lift
2. Tracks where you have to lift
Where's Buddy Lazier tho...
David Land #91 Hemelgarn Racing can comeback one day with him. And David where i can find IndyCar series 2005 PC Version ?
David Land MIA
Hopefully in Fittipaldi's seat.
Working on a car to kick their asses in 2019, David. Hang on to the faith. Our lord and savior will come and redeem us for win #2 soon.
Ist kyle larson atempting
#WeWantFredNandoLonso
#WeWantMontoya!

Facts
Nice time you did at the go carts :) I was there today, saw your time. They are a lot of fun
I’ve watched you since the 100th Indy 500. Great content. I go to all the 500’s.
Danica about to sweep the record books
For most racing wrecks
What In Carnation? She should join F1 to become pastor Maldonado 2.0.
Andrew Behrend she should partner with Grosjean at haas
ThatoneRahalfan15 or maybe replace ricciardo and team up with verstappen after year's end.
I don't know, Sage Karam still somehow has a career so that might be going to him.
So pumped for this race. Keep up the great work, David!
Very nice video with excellent commentary.
Where’s Racing Jesu- I mean, Fernando Alo- I mean, Buddy Lazier?
What's with the comments about Buddy Lazier?
Either Colorado or 4 laps down...one of the two.
I’ve been waiting all May for this video. Y’know, why did ESPN never hire you? Keep Allen Bestwick, but fire Cheever and Goodyear, then put David in his place.

Very well put together.
You do the best racing channel.
Conner Daly is going to run his NASCAR Debut in RoushRacing in Road America
I'LL echo the soviet onion this is a much better video than what we'll see on the pre race broadcast thanks! As for a prediction... I think the"real"rookie of the year for The 2017 raceis gonna be more than a dark horse.Go 10 go!!
If Sage Karam doesn't crash (again), he will win. He is pissed off about not getting a ride in the series, while others are getting their shots.
If Sage doesn't crash, the sun may not rise the next day.
zlinedavid
Takuma Sato had a bad reputation for crashing also...and not just at Indy. People are always talking about "the next generation of American IndyCar drivers", yet Karam, Hildebrand and Conner Daly are just sitting on the sidelines. It's not like they are junk has-beens.

Guess the sun will be coming up tomorrow. Thanks Sage!
God, when is Castroneves gonna retire? He is the grandfather of the sport right now
I'd love for Helio to win!
Are you going to do a bangwagoners guide for the Monaco Grand Prix and Coca-Cola 600
All you need to know for the Monaco Grand Prix:
1. the person who qualifies first wins.
2. there's no reason to watch it.
Well, there's a prestige to the gp and the track is a looker, but there's no disputing your first point.
Brandon Dollar your right unless the team in first really fucks up the pitstop strategy.
Brandon Dollar qualifying is so exciting though. You can’t deny that.
Rossi and Hunter-Reay have to be the favourites.
I believe you misspelled "Newgarden".
zlinedavid Ha Ha.he should be pretty strong.I just thought before Speedweeks that Andretti have to be the favourites.
David will Larson ever run it?????
doubtful
i love that tom blades in the backround
Make sure you don't forget to do a 50%. 💯 lap. Indycar 2005 video.
0:47 Actually, the last time somebody won back to back Indy 500’s was Al Unser, Sr. in 1970-1971
*Returns to corner to beat dead horse*
Brandon Carl I see what you did there
What did he do there?
GeuwgleSuxBallz Paul Tracy
Thanks, what about Paul Tracy?
GeuwgleSuxBallz many feel that he's the true 2002 Indianapolis 500 winner.
The 2012 podium was so moving and the 2013 one was as well.RIP Dan Wheldon.
I think Dixon will get a second win at some point, but probably in 2019 not this year.
I think Penske will be really strong espically Will Power and either Newgarden or Helio Castroneves. I think Danica will struggle in the opening laps but will get settled but won't be a huge factor, maybe a top 10 for her.
The irony of David putting this up at the same time Indycar schedule their practice live streams.
AOR SmokingPuppy841 finish the video, then leave one comment. Not 20 inconsequential ones.
Daniel D Racer 6 is not 20.And this is completely irrelevant to all the other ones I have put up so it should be separate.
AOR SmokingPuppy841 that was an exaggeration, good eye. Also, it's just a bit unbelievably irritating when you flood the comment section.
The Final Race Of ABC Indycar Racing In Indy 500 That I Will Watch
Milton Butler I will miss that cool theme that ABC has for them though
I always cheer for the number 14 car....
That car you put for harvey reminds me of the codemasters scheme in indycar 2005
All I want in life is for this video to be recorded over again with Paul Page reading the script.
I think we all would love to see JPM in the race! He should take that open seat. We need more JPM, especially since Helio is coming back, too.
What's the background music? it's kinda cool
That, my friend, is the vintage starting grid music from ABC's broadcasts of the late 80s/early 90s. Pure nostalgic heaven. Could almost hear Paul Page.
zlinedavid how did they get That track ! Amazing !
Zachary Claman de Melo is in the entry list on the INDYCAR app.
Pippa Mann will most likely be bumped as well as Kyle Kaiser.
James Jordan Mann normally qualifies in the high 20s, so I doubt it.
You’re half-right.
Indy 500 introductions being done to "Europe"? Pure auditory heaven. Delta Force next?
Would like a frenchies to win it. Also, I think Newgarden will win it. He won each even races this season. But that means what it means.
A lot of 3rd place finish, fudge!
People are too blinded by hate to realise that Danica was actually really good in Indycar in general. Especially with a win at Motegi and a 3rd place finish at Indianapolis she was great in open wheel.
Pascal Wehrlein can sub for Pietro Fittipaldi.
the driver who get winning price in Indy 500 price money will be distributed in team or driver can get all price money to home....tell me plzz
Sebass would have been the favorite last year, but Sato and Jones were my favorites last year because the accident. He's my favorite right now.
Hey David! I'm going down to the Sunday qualifying for the first time but I don't know where to park. Do you have any suggestions on where to park? Thanks!
North 40
Thank you so much!
#KAALKAT4COYNE
I'm just waiting for Danica to cause a massive wreck in turn 4.
with sage karam on track, anything is possible
Andrew Behrend You people never change. Yuck.
Andrew Behrend you people. The people who started watching indycat after Danica left.
Are there any die-casts this year?
God, I cannot wait for May 27th!
What happened to 36 ?
That is what you said in your original video , you had it all laid out
So Hunter-Reay is your favorite ?
I’m a casual Indycar fan so I don’t necessarily care who wins but I am partial to Dixon or Newgarden. And I know it’s just a pipe dream but it would be awesome to see Tony Stewart run the 19 in the 500.
Whatever happened to Bandwagoner Kid and Kaal Kat? The show’s not been the same since they left.
I honestly think now that he is driving for herta marco has a good shot at winning this year
Lazier>>>>Danica
What's with the comments about Buddy Lazier?
I was so disappointed my man Vautier didn't get the nod. My pick is Munoz but my hope is Danica.
Pushing Marco into an early retirement aren't we? He's got quite a few years left in my mind...
Who do *YOU* think *ISN'T* going to be in the 33 car field this year, David?
De Melo and Kaiser
David Land I was thinking those two as well
YES!!!! I think due to the cars they each drive, Kaiser and Davison will get bumped.
Indycar Enthusiast 64 Kaiser maybe, but the Foyt cars are actually looking fast this year. Bet it will be Pippa not Davison
I think Danica will run well but not right at the front.
My pick for the Indy 500 is Simon Pageneaud.
Drives for Penske and has Mears as a coach/mentor. Can't count him out.
I'm doing a 100% raise of the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day at the same time as both races are going on.
HEY KAAL KAT
MAKE SURE YOU GET THE FOCUS ON THE SMITHFIELD
5:32 Kaal Kat!
Turbo will win the Indy 500?
32 Kyle Kasier & 88 Gabby Chaves will be the two cars that will fail to quafiy.
Pippa Mann will be faster than Danica Patrick
No doubt.
Cucumber doubt it. Pippa has the least experience than Danica.
That's pretty difficult seeing that Pippa seems to have the ability to be a lap down immediately after the start.
I thought De Melo was already confirmed to drive the 19 in the 500
Bojo David he is now
7:37 INIDNAPOLIS 500 ROOKIE
nice
Pretty sure that it's the 107th running
The Redstone Minecart no.
Wheres Kaal Kat I wanted Him to return?🤔🐱🏁
Watch them announce a driver for the 19 tomorrow
Help Me It’s already been announced as De Melo
Damian Lillard I made this comment yesterday. I know now
Helio wins. I know it's an easy choice, but you can just call it a feeling.
*FLAMIN' HOT ZACH 'N CHEETOS INTENSIFIES*
you talking about Indycar and saying Brickyard is kinda confusing lol
Really? When you think of hinchcliffe's cars you think of a gold and black car? I think of his godaddy green car.
Carmelo Anthony RAMSFAN LOGAN but he only did one year in that..
I have a strange sense Hélio will win. Partly because of the coincidence with al sr., partly because he always does well at indy.
Matthew Templin who knows? It’s always possible he could win his third. Indy is always hard to predict
Yea umm where’s buddy????
Where was bandwagoner kid and Kyle cat
I say it's gonn be a last lap battle between danica and Robert and Robert will
Dump danica in turn 3 and he will win the 102 running of the Indy 500
I think i'm the only one here who think Danica will not crash. Probably a top 20.
Funny how all the the cars in thumbnail crashed in the Indy 500
Everyone forgets Gil de Ferran was born in Paris
Fernando Alonso participating?
I am still pissed to this day, Stefan didn't get the 18 last year.
Sato will win again.
My prediction. At least 1 Andretti auto sport car will not finish below 29th.
My top 3:
Will Power
Helio
Hunter Ray
One of these 3 will win the 500
GO DAEL!
#ForzaPietro
Orientation's over. It will have to be a veteran, with a sleepy 'shakedown' with the track closed, Jordan King would? Grosjean should be drivin the (19??(sic)) vacant car with rocks in his shoes.. I can't name a Brazilian placesetter.
The majority of the portraits aren't too flattering, lol.
Underfunded teams (Lazier Motorsport)>>>>>>>Well Funded teams (Team Penske, CGR)
Ryan hunter-reay to win
Will power for pole
Jack Harvey and jay Howard to be bumped those are my predictions
Who is going to Indy 500 iam
Hinchcliffe
Would I sound stupid if I were to say that a NASCAR driver is gonna drive that 2nd Conye car?
Who would even have the schedule or skill to do it though?
Tony Stewart
Jacob 8696 Problem is Tony is no longer interested in getting a Indy 500 win as a Driver. As a Owner, maybe (assuming that third OEM materializes and for the right price possibly), but as a driver he himself has declared that he's "Done".
Ku. Busch did a few years ago and did pretty well right?
RACECAR its a pipe dream but it would be cool to see
Winner will be newgarden
Biggest surprise will be karam
rocky road127 yeah, biggest surprise is that he'll kill Stefan Wilson too
