The fact that it makes those who already love IndyCar get excited is great. But really this is so important for the very large number of folks who have no idea what indycar is. This has things that are COOL. and makes a driver look like an absolute superstar. Tom Brady recognizing the cool. it's got all the good things. Even draws out some laughter! 10/10
It is now your obligation to have Josef cosplaying as Guy Gardner the Green Lantern once the Superman movie comes out Conor.
He already looks like him, all is left is the bowl cut and the baseball bat.
It's a banger!
Hey! Good luck this year Conor!
4:25 that’s what see said! 😂
Have a good season Conor!
Is Fox . . . back!?
Hey slap
WOOOOO S1APSHOES
No disrepect intended to S1ap, of course, but I like how more people are excited about him commenting on this video than Conor Effing Daly.
At this rate is obvious that the one Sabotaging NASCAR is the France family, NBC and NASCAR Themselves for years, and not FOX as reddit forced people to believe.
They gotta figure out their nascar coverage before we can call them back
The Alex Palou cut was great
"My kid hated it" - Superb!😂
I hate it too 😂😂😂
@@DixietheGoat9 My post wasn't liked either....I get it but...here's the negative. Indy Car is not about Josef.... they should have used at least three drivers. Maybe having three sperm racing if DNA is part of the package. His wealth and beautiful wife has nothing to do with the "reality of auto racing". The Brady bit was okay. I'm old enough to remember no roll bars. So my point is ....yes....to courage and strength.... no... to Hollywood and glitter. Three drivers..... more track action from the three venues. Period.
@@theophilhist6455 there's gonna be ads for alex palou and pato o'ward too. No way they left out indycar most popular driver.
Fox wants to rival F1 coverage in the US, and that's a good thing. And stickin' it to them by promoting, "The fastest racing on Earth." Perfect slogan.
Stealing Will Buxton from F1 would be a big-time win for IndyCar.
And long may it remain to be!
@@ariansmovies have they?
@@ariansmoviesI hope they do and keep him. Love Buxton but he's been doing F1 for too long and it shows.
@@alicekoppenol-pitti6257Yep plus F1 doesn't need any more promotion and the coverage that they are doing on the paddock just isn't the same as it was in it's first 2 years with Will.
Fox was in danger of doing another "Daytona Day" but instead of plugging Smithfield, they brought home the bacon for Indycar
Fueled by Bacon
"Fastest Racing On Earth" is a great new tagline for the series. It's simple and memorable, and might just get some casual fans who think of racing as definitionally being either NASCAR or F1 to look into IndyCar.
The problem with it that it’s only really true at the 500. And everyone already knows this.
@@rexthewolf3149 doesnt matter. its a factual statement. They are by definition the fastest cars, no qualifiers necessary.
@@sams-pg7hjTechnically its not factual. I hate to be that guy, but Top Fuel drag racing is faster...
@@d.d.7287 sure, but that is definitely a different type of racing. Everyone can safely assume track racing, not just a drag strip. I think most people are smart enough for that distinction
National Championship Air Racing would like a moment of your time. 500MPH 50’ off the ground…
It’s funny, but not a corny stupid funny like they would do with NASCAR.
It’s a clever funny with actual realness to it.
(NBC would never, this ad was way better than any advertisement NBC gave us the last few years.)
Love that they are promoting Josef and now Palou for the next ad that is the best way to introduce the audience to the stars of our sport.
Fox is nailing so far I’m so excited for this season!!
There are at least 3 boomer member berries though
Forrest Gump, Mr. Rogers, the "cool guys don't look at explosions" cliche... I might be missing some, I ain't a boomer myself!
Idk man the “Greatest Season Ever” ad from 2021 was really good
@@ianperry9598I liked it
Comparing this ad to Nascar ads over the last 10 years, it feels way more focused on the drivers and making them the star and center of attention, which is what it should be. The racing accommodates that, but the drivers show why they are special. Far too often in Nascar ads do they focus way too much on the wrecks and not enough about the people that actually do the hard work, and I think that is what you want to focus on more when your doing an ad about racing. Well done, Fox.
Yep, personalities make racing categories.
This IndyCar? Finally an Ad that really stands out. Playing up drivers and tracks would be the way to go. Will Power - like a pumping iron Ad. Let’s go through various drivers, especially those covering target markets like US, Mexico, etc.
The problem with Indycar is driver fan knowledge. This ad was spot on because it helped fans relate to the driver
I feel like Fox loves to go all in whenever they get a new thing, since they promoted the hell out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, making it feel like both the massive event that it is, they also made it seem like the USMNT were the favorites to win the entire tournament. Also you have to look at when Fox acquired the TV deal to air WWE Smackdown, they moved it from Tuesdays to Fridays and initially advertised Smackdown's arrival to live network TV like it was WrestleMania, although they stopped promoting Smackdown hard after the first couple months on Fox (mainly because for most of Fox's time airing Smackdown, WWE was in one of it's lowest periods in terms of its product and didn't improve until the scandal that forced Vince McMahon out of the company)
This ad actually reminded me of the old cart ad from around 2001, I think. It was the drivers talking about all the different tracks and conditions. Fast paced... frantic... engaging. Perfect
On the engine thing, I totally agree.... race cars should sound scary... I was in Toronto this year, and they just sounded... Normal. When I went to the races in the cart era, they sounded terrific and terrifying at the same time
Also has elements of the great Target Zanardi vs Vasser TV ads.
@HolmstromRules 100%!
It’s the perfect commercial.
Man I hope Fox lives up to the hype.
As a mainly NASCAR fan, it’s funny how badly we bashed Fox last year and how Indycar fans bashed NBC.
Now we’ve kinda swapped.
AJ Foyt will turn 90 in the 16 th of this month. Happy birthday AJ!
He is turning 90 cool, you know else if having a 90th birthday this year is my Grandma.
Currently reading A.J. Foyt survivor, champion, legend

@ToddLucky-z1b I'm really looking forward to starting that book as well. Art Garner is a very good author. He does outstanding research when writing about historic people and events. Read 📚 "Black Noon", (The day they stopped the Indianapols 500.)
@@danielblock6876I am very happy for you that you still have your grandma!
Give her an extra big hug on her birthday and tell her that you love her and that your are so glad you have her in your live!
This gives me big time “This is SportsCenter” ad vibes. Fun, memorable, and while still giving you a glimpse of what to tune in for.
This is the best Indycar ad since the CART Target ads of 99/00.. 25 YEARS, people!
Same here! I b**ch about marketing and presentation about IndyCar stuff ALL THE TIME. Finally something perfect indycar related. Love it.
This commercial is what racing needs. It reminds me of the early 2000s nascar ad’s which were always funny and cool
They absolutely nailed the ad. Focused on the marque American Driver, had a collab with Tom Brady, and made probably the best ad to connect with the largest age range possible. Also, Tom Brady on the race broadcasts? I wouldn't mind.
Tom has been getting very involved in the racing scene since he bought into the JOTA endurance team, love to see it
@@sorosub4562Tom Brady has also gotten criticism from NFL fans who are watching the games because they don't think he's that good and yeah sometimes you can hear Tom Brady think in the booth.
The last time Indycar had this level of advertising was with the IZOD ads
Honestly one of the best ads ive ever seen in general
They should make a Pato ad next.
Who?
Paro O’Ward
They are, they are doing a Pato and Palou ones
Hopefully Fox does better with Indycar than they do with Nascar.
"Oh look at this tight racing between car A and car B!" *Camera zoomes in on the hubcap of random car Z*
"Oh that was an amazing move by the driver!" *Camera continues zooming in closer to the hub cap*
"Wow that was great racing!" *10 minutes later the camera finally shows the action after zooming in so far to the random car you can see the atoms of the hubcap*
Wait! Commercial! "Whopper whopper whopper!"
🤣
Just wanna say, it’s crazy how many people (not the majority but still) are more upset that it’s an ad centering on JoNew than being happy that Fox just made one of the best ads for IndyCar in years. Hats off to them, hope this momentum doesn’t fall off a cliff once racing starts and the production of the races is up to these standards
I have no problem with him
Newgarden is a super talented, handsome and charismatic American driver who is 2 time defending Indy 500 champion. It is a no brainer to put him front and center in the marketing campaign.
Can’t stand The Cheater but the ad is hilarious
@ There's no evidence he knew about the cheating. He claims he doesn't know and it was the team managers' job to clarify and enforce the rules within their team. And anyways, as the old NASCAR saying goes: If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin' hard enough!
Indycar certainly needed Fox to promote big time, but a lot of this is sensationalist b/s, and putting the cheater out front because he won Indy is not appropriate
It’s about time Josef gets the recognition he deserves.
As long as he pushes the right buttons.
the alex palou part was the cherry on the cake
It's a nice ad to start with and shows how Fox is behind IndyCar. Tom Brady showing up is also a nice touch
Yep they definitely need to get Brady to an Indy 500 😅
I loved the Brady and Palou cuts!
That was one of the funniest things I've ever seen 🤣 Bravo, Fox & IndyCar! 🏁
Randy Bernard was great, he cared. Maybe Fox does too...and you're right about the CART sound
I find myself watching Indycar more than ever now . Its also fitting to have a real points Championship driver as well.
Saw that commercial awesome I liked it. It’s good for INDYCAR helps put the focus back on INDYCAR and that’s what Fox is going to do.🇺🇸😎
Sting Ray winning the 500 for Juncos
might be a redeeming moment if there is bumping and he manages to make the race
LOL 😂
Slap Shoes and Conor Daly commenting on the same video. David Land, you have made it!
Couple things, my first job when I was 15 was at K-mart so thank you, lots of great memories. This ad has mr ready to get back into Indy Car after not following for a lot of years now. Kind of reminds me of the old Montoya and Vasser ads from the Target years. And I
Just found your channel and subscribed.
Best I have seen in decades ! Reminds me of the old Kmart ads .
I hope more ads showcasing other drivers are on the way, IndyCar has some really cool personalities.
There are at least 2 other ads coming up which focus on Pato and Palou.
Agreed, IndyCar drivers are more likeable than most NASCAR drivers these days.
Someone in the marketing department at Fox deserves a raise if all of their ads for IndyCar
I'm a Nascar fan and watch very little Indy. This was phenomenal marketing. Honestly Indy should keep doing this kind of thing. Comparing your guy to Tom Brady, especially when Newgarden has the look is brilliant.
I actually liked their Nascar commercials too but nowhere near this level.
This reminds me of when Nascar was more popular and you'd see it mainstream.
Fox and Indy nailed it.
Hopefully treatment continues like this!!! I got super hyped and excited and it was like "holy hell!!! IndyCar is back in February!!!"
I saw this on TV today and it made me excited for something I'm already excited about. Well done. I even saw a Daytona 500 ad but the IndyCar ad crushed it.
The IndyCar on Fox booth has been officially announced. Wooohoo. 😅
Saw the commercial on my tv as I was watching this video. Loved to see it!
This was damn near perfect, even if I wasn't a Newgarden fan already! I've missed 1 IndyCar race (on network TV) in the last 10 years or so,(the Indy GP this past season). Love IndyCar racing already, but attending the season finale at Nashville this past season REALLY reignited my passion for it. Already got my tickets for the finale on Labor Day this year!
That’s the best TV spots I’ve seen since the FedEx CART days, reminds me of all the irreverent driver affiliation commercials from that era.
In the best way.
Dude, if we get a series like this for Alex, Scott(s), PATO???
Absolute Cinema.
this was the most refreshing thing i've seen Indy put out in a long time, praying the fox deal strengthens indycar🙏🙏🙏
Amazing commercial! I want to express how good it was! That was so fire! As a very involved fan 👏👏👏
Saw the ad during the playoff game and it was a banger. Using Josef as the face of this ad, especially including Brady was a smart play. The Palou cut was great as a nod to those of us who watch Indycar. Well done by Fox.
Good marketing does not excuse a 6 month gap between the last race of one season and the beginning of the next season
Gotta pick your battles
I don't mind the off season. Just get rid of the 3 and 4 week breaks during the season.
We gotta wait til 2026 for a more filled out schedule. They're working on Denver and a Mexico race and who knows what else.
@@Wily_Ambition6819 At least 2026. I don't think we'll see a decrease in the off-season until the series is in a better position to compete with Nascar and Football.
Or as a crazy idea....maybe add a couple more races?
Fox totally nailed it brother. Best promo ever!!!
The NASCAR fans should not be too worried about Fox not making any ads to promote the upcoming season since both Amazon & TNT are likely going to promote the heck out of NASCAR (with Dale Jr's help & involvement) in the next few months. TNT in particular will go in big with promoting NASCAR since they are returning to the sport & will likely turn to nostalgia in their ads that will likely start airing during March Madness & continue during the NBA & NHL playoffs. As for Amazon, they will need to do something similar to this though with Kyle Larson.
We'll see. Obviously, TNT & Prime will promote. I don't think FOX will do much. The new Nascar TV deal cut FOX from 19 races to 14 races. Immediately, FOX cancelled the Race Hub show, that used to air every week night. That was free advertising for Nascar. I doubt that anyone at Nascar even considered that.
@@GrandpaSharkFox released a Daytona 500 ad during the NFL on Fox game though an it was pretty good.
The party I was at, all the girls were like, what is this for.. then indycar into the first turn of indy
It's been a minute since I've seen that kind of advertising for any motorsport personality. It's a good first step for Fox.
I love this ad reminds me of somthing you would see on a mid to late 2000s Nascar broadcast.
Is Fox going to do a 45-minute season preview for IndyCar like the one that NBC put out for IMSA a week ago? I thought that NBC did an awesome job on their IMSA video, and would love to see Fox do something similar for IndyCar.
I disagree. The program opened by stating that the coverage would address teams and driver lineups but did not deliver such content for Prototypes nor GT entries. Some interviews were not rehashing prior season coverage but those were notable exceptions. I was dissapointed that NBC misrepresented the content of the 1 hour preseason coverage. Anyone else who follows IMSA agree?
IMSA video promised to preview the coming season with teams and drivers. I was disappointed when I watched that it mostly did not do that but chose to review 2024 and have selected drivers comment on their experiences with prior video clips. In defense of the content, Cadillac prototype return to Wayne Taylor's Racing team did feature an interview with his son Ricky re the team's history with GM racing the GT prototype Cheveolet program.
CBS should broadcast some IndyCar races, and it would be excellent if they brought Allen Bestwick to call some races, since he has already been calling college sporting events for CBS for several years now.
4:23 that’s what she said! 😂
Well said David, saw it a day ago and I thought the same thing, it was stellar!!.... and Josef was awesome!. ..he looks like your young star QB🤩Fox it's brilliant.... Personality marketing!
I think this was a good commercial to start off IndyCar's marketing with FOX. And I do wonder what they'll do with some of the other drivers as well.
I hope they do a Scott Dixon one and reference this racing as a teen and needing a pillow strapped to him to reach the pedals 😅
My kid hated it… that was awesome especially when they had to put in closed caption as they had racing sounds playing over him. Awesome!!!
As a longtime viewer of Fox Nascar, you will absolutely not see this level of dedication to your sport ever again. Enjoy it while it lasts and enjoy 95,000 Burger King/jardiance commercials.
Weight, you mean you don’t like watching the same commercial, with overweight women dancing, over and over?? And over and over and over……..
Brilliant ad. More of this please.
Agreed. Great take, loved the promo.
Funny Ad. Fastest Racing on Earth - not counting the NHRA which makes you look slow. (Yes, I know about Bonneville, but those cars don't tour). Trivia: Overdubbing engine sounds is old school. The Trans Am engine in Smokey and the Bandit sounded so lame it was overdubbed with the '55 Chevy from Two Lane Blacktop.
Alex's cameo was perfect! Developing a rivalry
Best IndyCar commercial since the series that highlighted Hornish, Cheever, Goodyear, Boat, etc. in their own ads. I forget what the tagline was for those. Very simple but brought out unique personalities of each driver.
Fox continues to not only nail it, but elevate it. Excited to see an actual race production 👍🏼
Imo I think the top indycar drivers would benefit from having one livery in the season, I think it'll guys like Newgarden more of an identity.
Alex Palou is hilarious in the ad. It is fun marketing for sure. Looking forward to the season to begin. Wonder if Tom Brady still lives in the Tampa area and would be a marshal for the St. Pete race? So many great racers in the series it's hard to make a Tom Brady comparison to any of them.
Great! I hope I can catch the Indy NXT Series somewhere as well because I enjoy watching those who want to make into the top tier someday.
Subliminal message is simple:
Love sports? You’ll love Indycar.
Don’t blame fox for using old Indycar sounds, F1 still uses V10s in its marketing.
Loved it, I had to rewind it several times, I hope to see more
I agree that they nailed it here. Made me so hyped when I saw it on X this morning.
If this represents the effort an production value Fox is going to bring to IndyCar, it's going to be huge.
Man I don't like Josef...but that ad rocked. Can't wait to see other drivers featured.
For the larger NFL fanbase, Fox should do a commercial for Palou and Dixon featuring Mahomes and Brady. Those two pairs are literally each other’s counterparts in their respective sports. Maybe throw in a Super Bowl 55 joke in there too. Good way to introduce the current legends of Indycar to the vast American audience ✍️🔥
Palou/Mahomes would also work visually since they both wear red and yellow.
@@francisdawson4092Facts. And honestly their names kinda rhyme too. Both (as of now) have 3 rings. Palou having 3 in the last 4 seasons while Mahomes 3 of the last 5. It’s perfect
Excellent work FOX! Please make sure to add plenty of speed shots on your broadcast, not the long shots that make the cars look like they are going fifty five mph on the straights. Please add nose shots, rear shots, helmet shots, ground shots! Make it interesting to watch a race on tv and make it exciting for people to go back to the track and fill the stands again!
If you use too much of those low angle and in car shots you miss what’s going on in the race
Those nose cameras and low angle shots are great if used sparingly and especially great for replays but you need to high shots to see more of the action
It was the best IndyCar ad ever produced!
That was actually great. Good job fox
This freaking ad was awesome
All of the driver based ones(pre roll) are awesome too
I was stunned when I saw this commercial. One of the best athlete commercials I’ve seen and it’s for Josef!
A corporation putting in effort holy shit
And Tom Brady being a co owner of in Indy 500 entry!!
I'm 65, which may explain my comments. I grew up in a racing family, and raced myself. We raced dirt track cars...stock cars, modifieds, supermodifieds, and late models. It was a good commercial by Fox for IndyCar, and its a plus for the series to be on a broadcast network again. For me, the only IndyCar race I watch is the Indianapolis 500, which I've watched (or listened to) since I was a little kid. I lost interest when American dirt oval drivers lost their opportunities in Indy car racing That's where the legendary winners and competitors of Indy 500 came from, like A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Johnny Rutherford, Gary Bettenhausen, or 1975 Indy "Rookie" of the Year Bill Peuterbaugh (one of my Dad's old racing competitor and friends). NASCAR lost me around 15 years ago, along with so many other of the grassroots fans who supported and help to build the sport. Good luck to IndyCar.
I was watching the NFL playoff game on Twitch last night, and they had a few Nascar commercials. Promoting the fact that a few races will be on prime this summer. I'm glad to see Fox putting in effort on the Indycar side. Most Nascar fans know the 500 is on Fox and has been for 25 years, but effort needs to be made to bring in new fans.
Yes sir!
Yep the Daytona 500 commercial was epic.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld yeah can never go wrong with The Who!
Josef Newgarden is the Tom Brady of IndyCar? Somebody better tell Scott Dixon.
Very good the fracture segment. Raises the 'I can't do that' part of professional racers versus the normal ones
I cracked up. It feels eventful exciting and just cool. I love it!!!!
My thing is do like they do during the Month of May at IMS and that is when they have a race at a venue and YES I know that it is just for a weekend but they should do it to where the drivers can have meet and greets with fans where the races are at so it can promote the product better!
I saw it for the first time a couple of hours ago. I agree -- it's perfect. It will really get fans and non-fans excited.
I saw the ad as it aired live during the NFL game and was shocked as to the level of competence and effort they put into it. Almost too good to be true.
Looks like a advertisement for a James Bond movie. Very cool
I hope they work through the whole field in the build-up to St Pete with similar levels of humour and hype
Complete agree! When I saw it on tv the other night I got so excited I paused it and yelled to my wife to come to the living room quick to watch it with me and my daughter 😂 who I took to the Indy 500 last year. Loved it!
Great start Fox!! (Also glad to see you're feeling better.)
Just had a look at the ad. Brilliant commercial☺️☺️
