I have lived in INDY all my life. I have so many memories and pictures of me growing up year after year of going to the track for practices, carb day, qualifying and race day. There is NOTHING LIKE THE INDY 500.!! THE GREATEST SPECTACLE IN RACING. ALWAYS!
*For me as a European (Germany) it has something of Gladiator-Fights, the Audience can see everything from their Seat (like in an Arena) and the Drivers do their Best to put on a great Show for the Audience, only the "Emperor" is missing to make it perfect ;)*
It's a great track but doesn't compare to Talladega. Biggest fastest track in the world. If you have never been try and go you won't regret it. Sadly they won't let Indy race there because the speeds would be to high.

In F1, when you put just a single picture from the race to video on TH-cam, you have to delete that video or your channel will be deleted... In this is Indycar WAY better. Huge thanks for upload.
Yea I hear ya, BUT F1 TV is really cheap each month and you get to watch every race, every qualifying, and each practice, also you get an archive from all the years past that has A LOT of good content on it. Watching this race at eleven years old was the most amazing thing ever. Hottest Indy ever and it showed. I’m 13 now and the feels of listening to these noises is so mesmerizing

When I found out that Chris Hemsworth came to the Indy 500, it was after it happened! I was so ticked because I really wanted to meet him! 😢 I feel like no one cool comes to Indiana, and someone awesome did come to Indy! I was about 40 minutes away from him!
I swear, when I was watching Wilson lead the race, I was ready to cry in the stands especially if he won. You just know Justin would have been so proud of him.
I'd love to see Formula 1 come back to Indy. I miss those races when I was younger. Even better if they ran the road course cause the new chassis changes coming in 2021-2022 would make Indy prime racing real-estate.

I was at the 106th Running of the Indy 500 yesterday! I was in section 13 by the monitor looking at the camera covering turn 4. Row P. I was with my dad, my brother, my grandpa and a friend of mine. It was the best day ever!

I’m from the UK. Let’s get that out of the way first. Whilst F1 is undoubtedly more technically advanced as some here would point out you cannot help but marvel at the sheer spectacle of this race. Nothing else like it on earth. Whilst F1 changes and reviews it’s rules to make it more exciting and less predictable, how envious it must be of this race. Massive crowds, massive speed, massive spectacle. Oh for the day F1 could embrace a Stateside oval in its calendar. Long live Indy 500.

I was there at the race all the way from Singapore. It was a fantastic atmosphere. In fact, the memorial weekend from Friday in Indianapolis was great. Ed Carpenter led much of the race, it was a pity he didn't win.
A peculiar thought entered my mind watching these wonderful vids: Kimi Raikkonen will absolutely detest every single moment he isn't on the track, driving his car.
I had a head injury and I lost some memory. I have always been a Will Power fan. I had not remembered that Will Power won the Indy 500. I just found out today, June 1, 2023. What a great day!
I hope the 2019 race is a little better than what this year was it was so hard to pass this year that was frustrating hopefully they have done some testing to make the race a little bit more exciting than it was in 2018
All of those crashes are not the drivers - those cars have a HUGE problem if the drivers cannot make them work. But I also noticed that many of the crashes where the cars broke loose it seemed like the white line was under a tire when they went ballistic... Makes me wonder if the paint was wet. Just an impression - but did the heat maybe make the paint (whatever its formula) turn "plastic" under the tires? (random thought, but possible)
Nicole Briscoe is the sexiest and one of most knowledgeable announcers in all of Motor sports. If I could, I'd steal her away from that durn dude, but I'm a fan of him too and therein (as they say) lies the rub. I wish I could have met her in that Hollywood Hotel.

Great race, Penske showing their engineering and expertise with Indy 500. In the four (Pagenaud, Power, Castroneves and Newgarden) had great car but Power made the difference with fierce with attack in Saavedra and Harvey at 10 laps remaining don't loosing pace. Carpenter was the big looser the proved another that he doesn't have mental strenght for a Indy 500 victory as his car was in same pace of Power. Great recovery from Rossi that agree for what he did one year later with Pagenaud in 2019, sad that he's not in good moment for mental strenght in 2022.
This is surprisingly compelling, I'm not normally into sports stuff but this is cool. I wish the peripheral stuff was aimed at a younger demographic and a little less boomery but the racing itself is fun to watch.

I think it's F1's broadcasting deal with Sky left over from the Bernie era that prevents Liberty from doing the same but I could be wrong.

In spite of the speed and battle that's going on outside of the race car, the cockpit environment is surprisingly serene at 220mph !!
Great race, Penske showing their engineering and expertise with Indy 500. In the four (Pagenaud, Power, Castroneves and Newgarden) had great car but Power made the difference with fierce with attack in Saavedra and Harvey at 10 laps remaining don't loosing pace. Carpenter was the big looser the proved another that he doesn't have mental strenght for a Indy 500 victory as his car was in same pace of Power. Great recovery from Rossi that agree for what he did one year later with Pagenaud in 2019, sad that he's not in good moment for mental strenght in 2022.
This is surprisingly compelling, I'm not normally into sports stuff but this is cool. I wish the peripheral stuff was aimed at a younger demographic and a little less boomery but the racing itself is fun to watch.
