Great review I don't care about weight so I bought it for ice fishing n river fishing soup or Mc n cheese and dehydration meals awesome. I love how we have options for pan
I took back my Jet Boil Java after the lid didn't ever fit right, after using it about 6 times the ignition clip fell off, and then the plastic casing around the burner cracked. I traded it in for the Minimo and they are like night and day. I actually enjoy using my Jet Boil now because of the Minimo.
Late comment but hey just realised today I'm still using a flash and.making meals with my frypan and.not using the cup anymore.....tried to simmer some pasta with a flash...nope won't work so now I'm eating real meals I think this upgrade is for me 200grams than the stash and it's smaller I think I'll get one of these Thanks for the review opened my eyes up once I searched for what's better cheers mate
Another great thing I want to add, is that with the Minimo the pot is FIXED onto the heating system. Which means less likely your pot falls over. Cuz that happened to me a fair bit while using the PocketRocket of MSr for example.
Easy to do proper meals with the Minimo, they are worth the money. I’m a cycle camper and also use the Minimo for occasional car camping. It works every time.
Jetboil minimo cooked a bit over the top. The lid on the minimo has a strainer or a mug to drink hot chocolate. Inside the lid, there is a stand to hold the cook system or porter. There is a actual burner and it is screwed into the adjustable system. Ignition bottoms are safer than manual lighters. Save heat and fuel.
Thanks for your helpfull description with cons/pros of using the Minimo, but how is your experience of the eficient of boiling or simmerise when windy. Is it worth the money or some other systems better ? Thanks.
I haven’t had issues with wind, I think the ring on the bottom helps trap/hold hear better than some other more open flame type burners. I also try to sit in front of it with my back to the wind if it’s very windy. So long story short, I haven’t noticed a lot of issues with wind, but I haven’t tried a bunch of other stoves to compare and know if there’s a significantly better option.
The mini mo is perfect for mountain house style meals. Get the two person meals and put half a bag in boiling water in the mini mo, then simmer until it becomes the perfect consistency. It completely changed the taste and texture of freeze dried meals. So much better than putting boiling waternin a bag and waiting for 10 minutes. Cleaning is kind of a pain but the way the meal gets cooked more than makes up for it.
Thank you for the review!
Where's my thankyous lol 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent review and on point. Yes, use this if you want to actually cook, as opposed to pouring hot water over freeze dried food!
Thanks. I kayak fish and I plan on buying a Jetboil for those long days. Sandwiches and peanuts does not suffice. I need to eat a hot meal.

Nice video, Mr Caleb.
Very interesting design and thanks for the review. Always great to have something like this.
minima sounds very versatile...create full meals for a wknd or boil water for fry dried meals on a wk long backpack trip.
