Have you found a good spot on that creek for Redeye bass? Im just missing one fish for my bass slam, and ive heard that that stretch of Amicolola has them. I went once and got skunked on bass, but caught a ridiculous amount of Rainbows.

I just got it two days ago and I am a fisher man that fishes everyday. I will tell you after a week of how this work or didn’t worked for me.

Yep, definitely a smallie for the first one. Their color/patterns can vary quite a bit just like largemouth depending on the habitat. Sometimes they are a real dark brown and sometimes they are a much lighter tan with more vivid patterns. Iowa isn't super well known for its fisheries, but there are some great ones, and it is easy to take for granted how much variety there is here. You get a little bit of everything. Some of those northern species like smallmouth, walleye, pike, musky, perch, but you also get great catfish, and largemouth.

You shouldn’t let swimbait fish take drag that’s how you lose them get them to the boat/bank as quick as possible don’t let them jump bc they will spit your bait

Another Budget Setup: Rod: Daiwa DX Swimbait Rod 8ft H (personally I use heavy as it also has saltwater applications) $100 Reel: Kapstan 300 reel by KastKing. 5.4:1 gear ratio (can sling a big bait and I’ve caught countless offshore saltwater fish on the west coast with it. e.g. Dorado, yellowtail, big calicos, school size tuna) $120 Total: $220 (or so)

Man that’s a nice Walmart, our Walmarts up here in western Washington maybe have a couple different zoom baits, some creme plastics, a couple strike king plastics, Arkie jigs, and maybe if you’re lucky a zman original chatterbait. Most of the fishing gear there is all cheap trout and salmon stuff

The prices are fucking on fire in Italy the prices are something like 4 times more zoom baits cost like 15€!! Rapalas at 17!

That's a tough river to fish. Open canopy makes for skiddish fish. It's produced on overcast and rainy days, and out of deep pools. Good place for striping streamers. I had a20 inch plus brown chase a stock rainbow i caught just below the bridge. So don't be afraid to use big ugly streamers.

Yea, our river is full of sweet surprises. Those "teens" that were fishing there actually have a YT channel @TheAvidFishermen. The fishing has only gotten better since this video released with every hybrid Striped Bass averaging 9+lbs and lots of double digits. The fish you lost either was a Double dig wiper or a paddle fish
