I 100 percent agree. The craftsmanship in this knife feels like it is in the ballpark of any high end manufacturer. RSB. Thanks for dropping this PSA for the people who didn’t jump on this.
I really want one of these. WMK was out of them so I got the Astio instead. It is also fantastic. The Bodego is going to be my next purchase. Thanks for the vid!
The Hinderer drop set back me getting to other knives 👎🏽. Getting the Bodega here in a month or so. Glad you like it so much and thanks for sharing it with us and telling us to check it out.
Begg Knives are terrific the bodega the Astio and the mini glimpse. I bought the mini glimpse. My granddaughter loved it so much I gave it to her. I’m buying the other two when I put the fonts together. Great video thanks man.
It really is a impressive knife for the price. I try to buy u.s. made knives only but i couldn't resist and glad i didn't cause i was surprised. The heat treat is top notch the best d2 iv tried in years. ill be buying more begg knives
OG Bob Dozier was always a big D2 advocate. Better off enjoying a well-executed budget steel and benefit from the savings than getting 20CV/M390 with toilet paper HRC.
Thanks for the post honeymoon update RSB! Sure, people complained about the AD20.5 in AUS10A and D2, but they sure did buy a ton of them for $150. $120 doesn’t sound so bad all things considered. 🤘🍻
I also complained about the materials on the aus10 ad20.5😂 but in my defense I don't think the demko fit and finish is as good as the begg knives in the >$100 -
I've spent so long staring at >$500 Begg designs and wondering if they were worth it that I still can't wrap my mind around "cheap" Begg designs. I am personally still on the fence but... if I see one for a good deal, I won't be afraid of it at least.
RSB . . . I have a full size but I might actually get this one to carry as I'm not ready to carry the other one! It's terrible but I tend to shy away from carrying anything over $200 . . .
I have a Brous Blades Division. Limited Edition. A run of 500. In fact, I have #272 of 500. Carbon Fiber, black wash blade. Certificate of Authenticity. Signed by Brous himself. Custom knife. I love it. I treasure it. I use and sharpen it. Guess what the steel is? D2. D2!!! It costs 5 times what Begg is asking for the Bodega. So don’t tell me about D2. It’s all in the design, the fit, the finish. Quality. That’s why it’s $120. I’ll get off my soapbox now.
I think it's entirely too common for folks to overlook quality craftsmanship and design while hyper focusing on material composition, sounds like you got a helluva piece! Brous has some great designs too
Hey Rollshambo, I just ordered The Bodega today But Mine Seems to have More Steel on the Right Handle, which I Think it makes it EVEN MORE Cool. Begg Makes Custom Knives and The Bodega is one of their Premium Knives. I think it is a Badass Knife, that's why I Had to have IT!!! The Knife will go good With My Leather Biker Jacket . The blade being D2 Steel Probably won't be to hard to Sharpen. The people who won't Buy IT, ALL I can say is "You Can Lead a Horse to water BUT You can 't Make him Drink.. Why Not Buy it it's a Premium Knife from a Company Who makes Custom Knives that run into the Thousands of Dollars. I Don't know what else to say except I Can't Wait to get MINE. A Gun & Knife Collector, Neal
I made it through and I own one of the Reate mini bodegas that I paid over 300.00 for used with titainium scales with carbon fiber inlay and better steel and it is a thing of beauty that I do not carry. I would love to have a cheaper one but D2 does not do it for me. I would prefer a Sandvic stainless steel.
It's definitely a cool knife. But about the heat treatment, from what I've seen only one sample showed 62rc out of how many that was produced. From my uses and seeing plenty of cut tests done on d2, it's possible to get a great heat treated knife but most aren't and actually don't perform all that good. I can't find anywhere that states that the knife is targeted to have rc of 62, and almost all d2 is targeted at 59-61rc with most below that. Also luv them knives only had a rc test done not a cut test, and more importantly a cut test done on multiple samples of that knife. If this information exists please share, but to say the ht is good based on one knife tested by one person and only the rc was tested doesn't mean all the knives are ht'd great. Maybe you can cut test your sample and send it in to get Rockwell tested. The more info the better, for everyone.
Thanks for watchin man! The problem with tests is there is always naysayers that will turn around and try to cast doubt no matter what results you come up with...if it performs well in a cut test it would be said that it could just be edge geometry..or the material being cut..or the technique..it's just my opinion at the end of the day but I've handled plenty of d2 knives and none of them come close to the begg knives steel series as far as quality and fit and finish
Thanks for sharing RSB!👊🏻I’m wanting to check this one out it looks good! I don’t care about it costing $120 if it is done well enough and it makes me happy. If I don’t like it I’ll complain then lol
Nothing wrong with D2. It used to be what Magnacut is today.
I 100 percent agree. The craftsmanship in this knife feels like it is in the ballpark of any high end manufacturer. RSB. Thanks for dropping this PSA for the people who didn’t jump on this.
RSB, keep up the good work, your content is 🔥🔥🔥

I got the Astio, too. Loving it so far
The Astio is great, a little sleeker than the Bodega but with similar design lines I dig it

Love the Bodega and it’s quality. Top notch. RSV
Been wanting this one. Waiting to get the funds. Thanks for the update
Amazing looking knife. I really like to see these overtime updates. Please keep it up Rolly.
I've got a lot of updates to post😂 I'm glad folks seem to be enjoying them so far haha
I like these begg designs and hope to pick this one up some day.

This video was amazing the way you explained the truth of this amazing knife. I'm glad you did

Also, the second to last shot (before all the Beggs knives lined up). What is that knife? Is it an Orion?
I believe the one you're referencing is the Orion Cetus, fantastic piece

Todd Begg has no association with this company except the fact that he sold them the name and the designs fyi
^
Todd begg used to be a part of it and left, company is still being run by his brother Mark, I did mention this in the video though it was near the end
