    Since I discovered your channel, I have been enjoying it immensely and following your travels on a regular basis. Through it, I've learned a lot about many nations, including my own Ethiopia. I left my country long ago and live at the heart of Europe, and whenever I visit Ethiopia, I only stay in Addis, where I was born and raised, so your channel is a real eye opener. If the situation in my country improves and the madness subsides, I might travel all over. I'm so sorry for the difficult time you had to go through in Ethiopia, but keep going! You are an amazing man with great resilience.

    I understand what you went through. I missed my flight from Entebbe to Brussels in September last year by just 3 minutes late for check in! The highway had been blocked! I'd used all my money and could barely rebook the ticket! I sold almost everything in my hands even shoes, just to be on that next plane. I reached Europe in sandals

I admired you. Thank you for visiting all! By this or from this journey everyone will learn to treat each other in a better respectful and responsible way. Totally it's a learning history. When I visited Ethiopia I was delayed departing by a couple days we went to the big immigration office waited around a while to be told three days, I needed the extension visa to exit, they told me just go to airport and pay fifty dollars, bit of a runaround at the immigration desk and no info - went back to the airline checking desk and lovely lady arranged someone to take me to the arrivals immigration where I paid the money and got the exit visa and a receipt! Glad I went to the airport early too!

    I'm an Ethiopian local, and let me tell ya, dealing with the Ethiopian immigration office is like navigating a maze with invisible walls. As crazy as your experience sounds, You my friend, are the luckiest person on Earth! You managed to get things done in a single day! I was stuck in a queue for not 1, not 2, but THREE whole days, from dawn till dusk. It was like queuing for an eternity in a place so chaotic, I couldn't even show my face without feeling like I was from another planet. Oh, the struggles of being a traveler!

    • @patrick1992
      @patrick1992 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Next time just give them some money that's it. You think the 50 Euros he pays at the airport are official? That's normal to speed up things. I had friends in similar situation in other African countries and Asia 😂 but the best thing to do ist DONT ever take your passport with you. Nobody cares if you are required to carry it around all the time. A copy on paper or picture on phone is accepted everywhere. I got into checks in a bunch of countries. The paper copy in my wallet was never a problem. Not even in Dubai. Last time I got a fine in Georgia (the country) and I just gave them my name because I had nothing on me and my battery was empty😂

    OMG what an ordeal! It is good for those travelling to know these things so they can plan ahead if something like this happens to them. Gorges du Verdon, is that where you are? What a stunning place.

      You don't deserve to visit Ethiopia because you are not strong like kino or like us.

    What madness, I lost my passport in Peru once, the US embassy was able to give me an emergency passport good for 2 years within a few hours. It is as you said, I just needed a police report and by God's grace I had photo copies of all my documents which made things go fast and smooth. Tip: carry or email copies of your documents to yourself in case of emergency you can access them.
