    This is awesome. I know my tape is right and I can shoot pretty well at 70-80yds. But the minute switch over to 100yds, my groups are good but always landing around 12” below the target. Gonna try to adjust my anchor point like how you mentioned. Thank you!

    Good info Griv, would you recommend using the center the pin in the peep method for a hunting sight?

      Hunting and target are the same. We need to be deadly accurate for both. Hunting uses a bigger peep is all.

    Archery is about consistency. Adding another variable like where to anchor for each shot wouldn't interest me in a hunting situation. It may be fine for target shooting. I prefer a small kisser button, large 1/4" peep, & a single fixed vertical pin. I practice at unknown distances all summer long & learn where to place that pin. During the past 37 years, I have never used a movable pin or multiple pin sight. I use one fixed vertical pin or crosshair. I pull back (this may be long before the deer stops), & the deer determines the distance of the shot. I instinctively know where to place my pin if I practice enough. Hunting is not walking up to a deer like a 3-D shoot. I have tried the EZ-V sight on a few deer, but I have gone back to a single fixed vertical pin. My younger brother does the same. We use a simple HHA Optimizer Cadet Single Pin sight for youth. When it's crunch time, I want to KISS (no changing my anchor points, no moving my pin, & no picking the right pin). If a deer is within 10-40 yards, I instinctively know where my pin needs to be. Simple is better for me! I practice to harvest deer.

      The peep is the anchor. Just touch your face where the peep requires you to and you’re good.

      @@georgeryalsthank you! This clears up a lot of things for me.

    I have to appreciate the work put into making the video but this tip is going to cause lots of inconsistency. Not only vertically but (probably mostly) horizontally too. The curvature of people's faces and jaw lines isn't going to lend to this very well. IMHO.

      Just try it you’ll see. Set your sight on 20 and anchor with your eyes closed. Then set your sight on 60 and do the same. You’ll see.
      I won’t give you a tip unless I’m exactly sure and it’s fully tested. This one is tried and true over 35 years of top level archery.

    So what happens if you shoot Max 50 yards then would you still sit the peep at 20 yards in?

    • @georgeryals
      @georgeryals  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If your max is 50 set the peep in your mid range.

    George.
    How do you go about figuring out your D loop length? How do you figuring that out??
    Thank you sir!

    • @georgeryals
      @georgeryals  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I use a standard one inch extension. Some may like a 3/4" extension if they have a narrow face or jaw.

      @@georgeryals Thanks for getting back. currently im at 3/4”.
      I was a little shocked at your comment on the 1/8” peep for hunting. And being able to still see through it during hunting conditions. But im willing to try it. I was always under the understanding of halo your scopes ring with the peep. For a guy with a shorter draw, that means a kinda large peep.

      @georgeryals  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@PennNativewe circle the target with the peep. We are shooting at the target.

      @@georgeryalsThank you George. I’m going to give it a try. I know for sure I can shoot more accurately with a smaller peep. Cause I have tried. Just not one for hunting. Appreciate the reply!!

      So, big face =longer dloop (kind of). Is there something else that dictate the lenght of the dloop @@georgeryals

    Are there any pros that do this? Doesn’t make any sense to me. Im trying to wrap my head around how this can be consistent

    • @georgeryals
      @georgeryals  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most do. You simply can’t have the exact same anchor at 3 yards and 100 yards. Try it yourself and you’ll see.

      @georgeryals  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also. I’ve been a pro for 35 years.
