    ...never had any pain, but after 4 years slowly increasing numbness, first right then left hand , I finally had c456 laminectomy+ Fusion + undercutting c3+7. Numbness remained the same, but all in all it was a success and I do everything, including playing guitar. Interesting, how you partition the areas of "c"..... In my case it is the whole hand, but still right hand more, than the left. Very good report Dr. Khan. My Surgeon was Mr. Bull in London.

    Hi Doctor! This is very informative. My husband has been having these symptoms for 20 years. He had fallen from a tree which is as tall as a single house roof top 20 years ago. He has minor symptoms but now it’s been worst for the last He finally asked his primary doctor for an MRI & the x-ray shows it’s a C5 & C6. Then the surgery doctor wants another neck x-ray to confirm it. So we’ll see how that goes. He’s afraid of the surgery. I hope it well be fine.

    Excellent video, Doctor. Very well done. I had a 2-level ACDF in Oct, 2022. In the last 8-9 months, I've been experiencing increasing pain in the area of the C7, and my neck always feels tight when I do stretching exercises. I'm also experiencing pain in the right upper Deltoid, and radiating down into the right Triceps and Forearm area. This pain in the Triceps area is sometimes felt in BOTH arms, as is the pain in BOTH Deltoid muscles, but mostly on the right side. In full disclosure, I have bone-on-bone arthritis in my right shoulder after 35 years of competitive tennis. My shoulder Ortho thinks a lot of my shoulder pain may be coming from the area of the C7 in my neck, as well as the arthritis, especially since I feel the pain in BOTH shoulders and arms. The surgeon who performed the ACDF (an excellent doctor) prescribed Gabapentin for the time being, and it does help - leading me to believe a lot of the pain I'm feeling is nerve-related. He said if the pain continues, he's going to refer me to get a nerve block. My question is, are these types of injections usually successful, or is it just a waste of time? Thanks again for your excellent video, Doctor. I sent the link to a friend who is also considering ACDF surgery.

      Thank you for your kind words.
      Injections work sometimes, but if the nerve is severely pinched the pain may come back afterwards after a significant initial improvement (this happens quite frequently)
      Here is a recent video about ACDF, hope you find it intersting:

      Thank you for reaching out.
      Since I am not familiar with your particular case, I cannot diagnose your condition or make treatment recommendations.
      If you are having tingling in the arms, I suggest that you get an in-person evaluation by a spine-surgeon. Sometimes tingling in the arms can be a sign of spinal-cord cord compression, which can be a serious problem. Before trying physical therapy, I suggest an evaluation by a spine-surgeon.
      Good luck to you 👍

    I have all the symptoms of this. I am wondering if its normal to have movement restricted, I can not lift arm up past 90 degrees rotate backwards. Also if i accidently move this arm wrong I get blinding pain. Thank you for any insight ❤

    • @SpineSurgeonSpeaks
      @SpineSurgeonSpeaks  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching and reaching out. If you have difficulty moving/ rotating your shoulder, I suggest that you also have an orthopedic surgeon evaluate the shoulder to make sure that it is not a shoulder problem. Sometimes a pinched nerve in the neck can cause pain very similar symptoms caused by a rotator-cuff tear. Good luck to you 👍

    What if I gone numb b4 surgery from disc bulge and spine compression I don’t feel propely so how can I test myself

    • @SpineSurgeonSpeaks
      @SpineSurgeonSpeaks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ideally the testing should be done by another person (i.e. the physician) so that it can be quantified/ measured independently.
