This is my new religion, every day I have to listen to AskJapan talk about his life... so wonderful. He is a friend for all of us who have forgot how to socialize, and no longer have any friends.
My greatest hope is that your channel grows and you will be able to make money from TH-cam! I will watch every video you post from now to help! Blessings to you from America ♥️
Hello, I'm from Tunisia ( North Africa ) I also collect a lot of meaningless things, especially things that hold emotional value to me I still have things from 20 years ago, even some candy wrappers . I love gachapons although I don't own any, but I'm planning to visit Japan for the first time in August and I'm going to collect gachapons from there too I love collecting things, it makes me happy I've been collecting Yu-Gi-Oh! cards lately
My girlfriend and I also buy things like this, because they remind us of happier, simpler times. How it was in childhood, and in that there is meaning :)
@@distinctloafer gf watching him too! Frankly, it's bc he's honest and open which is more than I can say for my gf... the complexity of modern relationships is killing the social fabric. 🤔😅🥲
I would love to see more of your capsule toys! I love all of your videos, but my favorties are when you’re showing us how you relax in the evening. Also I made curry based on your recepie, it was delicious!
Any native Japanese speaker who learns English or vice versa has my respect. Both languages are so fundamentally different that it takes a lot of dedication to learn it at a level where you can have a conversation with a native speaker.
I like the eclectic content this channel has. These toys remind me of Kinder Surprise but larger which I collected when I was a child. I still buy toys and I'm nearly 50 myself. Anything gadgety or things with flashing lights, watches, little screens, noises, radio controlled cars or other vehicles etc etc.
Keep making TH-cam videos about your life and being honest about things that you struggle with i think you might have discovered a new niche that is valuable to people! You may have a Journey in front of you your subscriber count is raising so quickly and if you can get 30k subs you can get one hundred-thousand I believe in you! ❤
You my friend are very interesting. Thank you for sharing your life. These things are not meaningless we are interested to see these things. I visited Japan a few years ago and i loved it so much and was fascinated with the toys and comics i saw there so this is really interesting. Its very calming watching your videos haha From Australia 🙏🙏
Enjoyed seeing your Gachapon collection! It’s important for us to find ways to keep ourselves happy & occupied. Collecting is a great way to do that. I personally collect Native Artifacts. 👍
I love this video. I don’t want to stop collecting small trinkets when i grow older if they bring me happiness. Watching your happiness through this gashapon toys makes me feel less alone. Thank you for sharing
Loved the tiny vacuum cleaner, that would be incredibly useful for my desk. It always has pencil shavings, tiny chips of paper, tiny bits of plastic etc.
Легенды говорят, что через год видео будет начинатся с "I'm a 51-year-old Japanese man". 😂 Leaving this comment to support the channel. Love from Russia ❤ Be well, bro.
Maybe the cassette tape is damaged because you recorded your voice a little bit more at one time, with other tape maybe you could record for more time. That tiny voice recorder is so nostalgic. The fish is also cool 😂
When you were showing off the cassette player I was thinking, “please let there be a cute little removable cassette in there,” and you didn’t disappoint. Bravo.
I read an article about a Japanese man that lost his pension and went to jail because he would pay for a small coffee but instead pour himself a large coffee everyday. He was caught and then punished. Has anyone else heard of this???
Maybe you can do a video showing all of us a walkaround of your neighborhood? That would be interesting to see. A lot of toursits go to Japan but never really know what its like actually living there. I've seen first hand places like Kisarazu and Katsura and these small towns are really so beautiful and peaceful. I would love to live in Japan.

I really like Gashapon. Many of them are very creative and funny and I also like miniatures of regular items. Over ten years ago some places around were I live had gashapon machines. Prices were 1€ and 2€, now you only see very few imported Sanrio or anime gashapon machines in speciality stores for 4€ per capsule. I'm very excited to check out the gashapon machines in Tokyo when I visit later this year.
I enjoy getting toys as memorabilia for places i visit. For example, i have a slime(from dragon quest) plushie from a daytrip to osaka because there’s dragon quest themed lawson in namba. Also, you should really investigate into minidiscs and tapes, it’s quite a unique way to enjoy music, especially minidiscs
that vacumm capsule is cool, I would modified the motor with a stronger one and use a higher volt battery just to make it stronger,I would definitely buy that if they have it in my country.
It might be a good idea to set up a patreon so people can help you and your family to pay off the mortgage. It is quite the fair cause if you ask me. For the patreon content you may do something special about your life where you live in, like trying traditional or unusual restaurants, showing off some park or everyday life, history lesson from japan, showing off your favourite mangas that people don't know about etc. So many ideas and people in general are fascinated by Japan and its culture.
I live in Tokyo. I agree it's kind of lonely here. But I've never tried the gatcha except for one UNO card gatcha. It was great. Now you've inspired me to go try more!
you may say its meaningless. but i appreciate small things. i understand the amusing part of why you like those. its the MYSTERY.about discovering some random things that could be interesting. every single one of those are actually a fruit of thoughts of someone. simple designs. and discovering them can get addicting. at least its not expensive. in the western world, there are mystery shops that could costs you a lot and get even pointless stuff than those. and if you are worry it gets pile up in your storage, just take them to recycling.
