I am planning a trip to Switzerland for 10-12 days, however, I don't want to carry all of my luggage every other day to visit other cities and waste my time checking-in/out of the hotels. I was thinking of staying in Zurich for majority of my trip (7 nights) and take day trips to other cities. And probably 2 to 3 nights in Zermatt. Sample Itinerary, cities to which I am planning day trips in no particular order: Day 1 : Zurich (Explore the city) Day 2 : Zurich > Bern > Zurich Day 3 : Zurich > Basel > Zurich Day 4 : Zurich > Lucerne > Zurich Day 5 : Zurich > Interlaken > Lauterbrunen > Jungfrouch > Grindelwald > Zurich Day 6 : Zurich > Lausanne > Zurich Day 7 : Zurich > Geneva > Zurich Day 8 : Zurich > Zermatt (Explore Zermatt) Day 9 : Zermatt > Gornegrat > Zermatt Day 10 : Zermatt > St Moritz (Glacier Express), stay the night in St Moritz Day 11 : St Moritz (Bernina Express) > Chur > Zurich (Casual shopping) Day 12 : Zurich > Farewell (finally time to say goodbye, until next time!) Hi Vishesh. Thank you so much for your nice comment. Zurich is a good base if you travel by public transportation. Otherwise, Zug and Lucerne might be good as well. Zurich is very expensive, if you can afford, sure why not. I even found staying in Schaffhausen is quite fine; certainly it's cheaper. The old city is a little more charming in my opinion that in Zürich. In general, I agree it's a hassle to always check in and out. It's a good idea to stay 2 or 3 nights in Zermatt :) For Bernese Oberland and French-speaking Switzerland it would be better to stay overnight in Bern. Else, you loose too much time on traveling. Day 10 and 11, seem to not fit into your itinerary and it seems rushed. I would skip Geneva, but that's just me, I am not a huge fan. Maybe, my Top 10 Cities video might help you. Staying in Ticino furthermore is a great idea too!

I SOOOOOOO enjoy all of your videos, but my favorite place to travel when I go to Switzerland is Zermatt. I was able to ski there a few years back (the first time I went to Switzerland). I usually travel in late April or May, so I don't get to be there to have a true winter experience. I do want to plan on coming there this next year though. Would love to connect and ski with you when I there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ahmad :) I filmed it in March this year. The snow in the village can melt fast depending on how cold it is. At the end of my stay, the snowfall changed to rain.
I love the mood in the winter evenings, so cozy and warm. I tried to have fondue once when I visited in the summer - they looked at me like I was crazy "that's a winter dish!"
Hi Gaby. I agree with you. The evenings during Winter have something charming. Fondue is indeed rather a Winter dish; though up in the Alps or in Gruyères, I think it is okay to order it at anytime. As long as it's not 30°C outdoors hehe^^
