Just got back from a week in Switzerland in July. I'm not sure what its like throughout every month, but I didnt even find it that busy. The morning trains to Lauterbrunnen was the only crowded part aha, then everyone seems to spread out. For example, I went up Mannlichen and it was not busy whatsoever. Grindelwald-first, picked a hike and hardly passed anyone once I was off the main path to the lakes.
Hi. What you write is correct! The Männlichen is not that much of a hotspot, unlike the Jungfraujoch or the First Walk in Grindelwald. I though do find it pretty busy this month in certain places, I was just in Bellagio Italy and then again back in Switzerland in Ticino and at the Aareschlucht, and I could see the crowds are definitely a lot more than 2019. The rhinefalls this month are crazily crowded, I thought it was already crowded when i filmed there in 2019 but now the crowds during July at the Rhinefalls are about 3x more. It's good that you chose some less popular places. That's a lot more enjoyable and you can really connect to the place. How was your trip overall?
@@DjemoGraphic Yep I definitely saw that too, the 'postcard' areas seem to be very busy especially in these Months. I really enjoyed my trip, even though I didn't plan much, I had a brief idea of the some places I wanted to visit. I'm going to share what my itinerary was as it may help others too: First day: - Arrived in Basel - Took train to Interlaken (My base) - Dropped off luggage and headed to Lauterbrunnen - Explored the town and did a few miles panoramic walk through the farms slightly up the hills (passed nobody) Second day: - Took train to Grindelwald - Got the Gondola up first and checked out the cliff walk. - Hiked to the lakes via flower trail - Hiked back down all the way to Bort (most people just head back the same way they came once they reach the lakes) - Went to Thun on the evening for food Third Day - Took the train to Lauterbrunnen, then to Wengen, and took the Gondola up Männlichen - Hiked from Männlichen to Wengernalp train station (my favourite activity of the trip) - Took train all the way back to Interlaken - Railway up Harder Kulm (was cool but a little underwhelming compare to the views from other mountains) Fourth Day - Train from Interlaken to Bern - Explored Bern and saw the sites - Train back but all the way to Lauterbrunnen - Took Gondola up to Murren - Hiked from Murren to Gimmelwald to Stechelberg (beautiful views) Fifth Day - Train from Interlaken to Zurich - Explored Zurich - Train back to Interlaken Final day - Only had half the day since my flight was on the night - Took train from Interlaken (left luggage at station) to Lauterbrunnen - Walked to Trümmelbach falls, went insider and walked back - Took train from Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken to Basel (Flight got cancelled lol, so had a few hours to explore Basel)
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT map, Djemo!! I'm unsurprised, though, given that its creator attended ETH Zurich. ;-) I'm pleased, too, that you found a way to concurrently provide value to your subscribers and monetize the time, effort, and expense you invested in previous videos. In a world where cost and value are increasingly disconnected, this map is worth much more than the CHF 14.90 I happily paid.
Thank you so much for your nice words and great feedback! My partner who came up with this map platform is also from ETH😁 Its my pleasure to show you all these beautiful places and give more exact locations even😊 glad you find it too cheap. I got 1 feedback like that too, maybe i raise the price in a few weeks. Then, the map will hv more locations too
@@DjemoGraphic You and your partner are making ETH proud! Yes, I agree that the justification for a higher map price is that there is no additional cost for the continuous upgrades (more locations, videos, Instagram posts, and information). Best of luck with everything, sincerely. We travel to Switzerland five or six times per year, and your videos and guidance have been the foundation of our trips. Beste Grüße und dankeschön!
Hii Jason. Thank you so much for your nice comment once again. Would you allow this comment being published as a customer/user feedback by pioneer maps? Looking forward to hearing from you!😊
I absolutely love Switzerland, have visited from USA many times. Your maps are a way to take your expertise along with me for a very reasonable price! Thank you! Purchase successful!
Hey! Thanks a lot for your wonderful comment! Im happy to read that you enjoy visiting my beautiful country again and again. Which region do you like the most? Thanks a lot also for purchasing the map🥰
@@DjemoGraphic Berner Oberland is the most beautiful for incredible mountains and greenest landscape. But I also love Appenzell and recently climbed Pizol from Pizolhütte as well. Last year was in Lenk and Adelboden and will return in September, my favorite month in CH! So much to see!
The map is wonderful, Djemo. What a great idea :D We always visit Switzerland in August; if you move early, you will be by your own on the hiking trails :) August can be very special in Switzerland.
Hi Clara. Thanks a lot for your nice comment. Yes, the map was a really cool idea by my business partner. It will be even more complete in the future. I agree, as long as you are up early, you can enjoy without people🥰🇨🇭
I love sharing your videos with friends coming to visit me in Switzerland. I do warn visitors of the unpredictable weather in the summer. It can be humid here! Bring a light waterproof jacket. I've lived in South East Asia and it's not that humid in Switzerland. I've also lived in dessert areas and Switzerland is definitely not a dry climate. I've lived in Switzerland for over a decade. It's warm at night and there are also summer thunderstorms because of the humid climate. I warn friends that might get rained out or even worse, hailed out of the lake side picnic or need to leave the mountains early. Or there might be a humid heat wave.
Hola Jim. Grazie mille per il commentare fantastico. J'ai tellement adoré la dernière fois en Tessin avec toi. C'était magnifique. J'éspère de te voir de nouveau en Tessin ou a Zermatt!

Great video - thanks for making content. I am visiting Switzerland this July and staying in Visp to avoid the crowd in Zermatt and Interlaken, and also to save money. Do you know if it is recommended to book seating tickets in trains on smaller trips (like Visp to Interlaken and Zermatt) or should I be good as long as I have a normal ticket? Not sure how crowded trains are in July.
Hi Lars. That's a good idea. I stayed in Eyholz once to save some money too when I went to Zermatt and Lötschental. I dont think you need to reserve a seat. The reservation just gives you the certainty that you will be able to sit, otherwise you would have to stand but still fit into the train's coaches.
Hi Djemo. I bought the pioneer map. Was hoping it would include location specifics such as restaurants/gelaterias, villas, parks, etc. Would enhance the experience if, for example, we discover that one of your recommendations is within walking distance, as if you were traveling alongside us. Thanks 🙏
Hi. Thanks a lot for your feedback about the map and for purchasing it. I do hope that it will help you with your planning. I designed the map together with the person from Pioneer map in the way that it refers to the individual videos and instagram posts. Filming in restaurants is a bit tricky as it's in principle only allowed if you do not show other guests. Parks and villas are suitable with the concept.
Great video, I think we will replan our summer trip. What were the places you mentioned 06:52 the transcript didn't bring up the correct spelling. Many thanks
Hi. Thanks a lot for your nice comment! The place you are referring to is this one: th-cam.com/video/r0M_kS0mh5k/w-d-xo.html That's an old video I made about this village. I made many more videos about less-known gems of Switzerland.
Traveling has become too cheap. That's why too many people these days travel overseas more than 2x a year. I remember when I was young, it was absolutely normal to save up for an overseas trip over more than 1 year. These days, people save up a few months only.

Hi Kevin. Thanks for your comment!😊 For a while i feared I was actually also guilty. But then I noticed that the big tourism boards boost many of these attractions. They reach millions of people, I wish I had that range as well😄 Hope you will visit again soon!😊
