I know this is a year late but I just wanted to thank you for not including garbage, trash or junk in the title of this build. I feel it diminishes the art of scratch building especially when it comes to sci-fi. I’m glad you mentioned that you go to the store to get items, I find that cruising through the hardware store the craft store and even the dollar store provides inspiration for future scratch builds. Thanks again and nice work
I was a part of the build and had a great time! Thanks guys! That being said ... still think James gets Best Overall! I liked Whitey's Material and I vote the Bugrunner for the backstory! Thanks again Brian and Carissa ... it was a lot of fun!
Couldn’t agree more with the possible exception that I also LOVED Dennis’ “Coruscant Graffiti” build. What a visual looks like it jumped out of an old Lucas film….oh…wait.
Jeepers Creepers, these are fantastic! And yours came out great as usual, Brian! I had a lot of fun with this challenge, my first kitbash (I'm #6, the Bug-Runner), and it's given me the itch to build more. Congrats to everyone who joined in, you should all be proud!

Very inspirational. As a 3.75 inch action figure collector, scratch building things to broaden that world building aspect is great. Would love to see a large diorama as you hinted at in the 3.75 scale
What you did here is pretty much EXACTLY What the Original Modelers did in the first Star Wars movies! THIS is what's SO FREAKIN' FUN about Model building! Take Different Kits and "Greeblies" and building something that COULD {or SHOULD?!} Exist in the Star Wars Universe! :D
Great stuff! Reminds me of all the hours spent scratchbuilding and kitbashing with anything we could get our hands on for Gorkamorka trukks or hordes of 40K orks. Always fun building projects out of whatever minis, models, and random bits are laying around. Kudos to all who contributed to this one.
Because of this channel, I kitbashed my very own piece just the other day. After a lot of frustration, catching the Rona, and having to start all over once, I turned a Spartan V model into a Destiny 2 Titan/Anthem Storm type thing. I personally think it looks super cool.
Great fun, Brian. I totally loved all of the builds and the brilliant minds behind them. James from RBB has my vote, however I would be remiss if I didn't tip my hat to Thomas for his Mando Hoth speeder build. Oh, and yours was rad too. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
What a heap of junk! I love it. Great video and build Brian. Your speeder feels very in universe, like a B-Wing or a speeder from movie 8. My thought is that your engine intakes make the speeder look like it is flying backwards - at least from a certain point of view. The base and scene really work for it and if we could vote for your project I would give it second place, narrowly beaten out by the Jawa speeder. This sort of collaboration is a great thing and I hope to see many more fantastic projects and videos from you.
James from Rebel base Build. But honestly I would have voted for yours in the end after thinking about it. Everyone did outstanding but James and yours are the stand outs for sure.
I recently bought a 1/6 speeder that I planned to work on restoring and this video really inspired me. Thanks so much for sharing, it was great seeing all the other builds as well 👍🏻👍🏻
Most excellent work Brian and all the makers that joined in. I don't think I could choose just one. They all turned out so awesome! I'm so inspired to give this a try!
Great episode! Love that you’re inspiring the community as well as involving and showcasing others. It’d be kinda interesting to go a build off of sorts every so often to see how the community improves, changes, and grows. Top notch!
All this models are amazing but I like very much the number 8 made by James from the ' rebel base built " . Thanks you Brian to show all the wonderful items made by this other makers fans of the Starwars univers
I really love these kind of videos. Scale builds are amazing and not easy to do... for some. All the builds are fantastic since everyone has their particular touch in them. But I must say that my favorite over all (outside of yours) is Sand Searcher Jawa Speeder by James. You can tell he's into details and that's what I like. The details that make the builds look more realistic. Bryan, thanks for presenting us with such compilation of talents.
All great builds!! James’ Jawa display is my favorite! Awesome video and great inspiration!! Thanks Brian! I’ll especially keep in my the guitar strings when I make one! Plenty of those lying around! Haha
Fantastic builds from everyone! I gotta say if I have to pick a favorite I’d say James’ is the one that I liked most, it reminds me of something you’d see model makers do back in the 80s and 90s for movie miniatures… it just gave me that vibe, nicely done!
Wow what an awesome comment, given that I totally LOVE that era of movie making that means a lot, thanks! But totally agree some amazing inspiring builds!
@@RebelBaseBuilds I love how you used a tank hull and then added tank parts to everything it was just such a cool build! I also subbed to your channel!
I actually really like the Yoda speeder, it may be a little thought but it's 100% scratch built from recycled bits and it shows room for improvement, I hope they continue to model
I love the build! By the way those citadel paints are just fancy washes. All you need to do is thin down regular paint and you get the exact same effect for a fraction of the cost.
Brian, after rewatching the show. Since your build is off the table. I have to say James' build was the winner. It was definitely a hard call because everyone did excellent work. Bravo to everyone.
The inspired imagination, resourcefulness, out of the box thinking, and truly amazing artwork combined create a world Lucas would be proud of. Top notch work. You all make me very jealous.
So many amazing builds. I guess I have pick my top 3. Tom Hill with the "Bug Runner " great back story Nerdy maker for best use of materials. My favorite out of all of the builds- Dennis (black market outpost) build with the Corvette amazing job for sure. Definitely awesome work all around.
Loved this video. And I loved how you worked in a juice bottle lid. I originally found your site about a year ago while looking for greeblie information for my 1:12 scale action figure builds. Even though you were full-size props, I subscribed after watching your greeblie info video. It was that good. Now the circle is complete. Full-size and miniature, best of both.
Hmmm….I’m not sure where my vote went. So, let’s try this again…… 1: Most Creative Back Story. My vote goes out to The Nerdy Maker for his Z77 Super Skiff. Sounds like a story line you’d see in an Extended Edition, or Directors Cut, BluRay release of ANH or ESB. 2: Most Creative Use of Materials. I’m a bit torn here. First off, Wayne Bakken’s conversion of a Cheerios box into Grogu’s new speeder is brilliant. Pretty certain I would not have come up with that approach. Second off, Thomas Marchese’s speeder uses styrene, foam, model parts, and more to make a really cool looking scratch build. I really love the workings under the exposed panels. I think Thomas just edges out Wayne here. 3: My Favorite Overall Speeder has to go to James’ (Rebel Base Build) Sand Searcher. Great back story, amazing scenery, Jawas, and overall build quality. I was completely sold when I saw the sub-miniature greeblies (control panel, droid socket, crates, and more). Brilliant job James.
I’m kind of glad, and sad, that Boylei Hobby Time didn’t take part in this challenge. I’m sure he’d have blown everyone out of the water. But I would love to have seen what awesomeness came off his cutting mat. That and I was excited to see Brian break out the guitar strings.
It is hard to choose when everyone put out a great build! But overall I chose number 8, due to the detail and paint job. Besides the Jawa story was a departure from any of the others. Yes more miniatures to be sure! Your cargo hauler actually wound up wicked looking! The wood base was a bit of a letdown, but I’m figuring you will eventually trade it out for something “other worldly”. Great video!
