    Love watching you ladies… I have loads of polypay fleeces I purchased from my shepherdess friend that I’ve washed, carded, combed, and have now sent more to a fiber mill for processing for me. This spring she saved 5 lamb fleeces for me! It spins into a very bouncy, stretchy yarn.

      That’s sounds amazing Lisa, the polypay yarn feels so nice!!

    Finished watching this on the replay. I am double booked on Tuesday evenings so I only catch the first 30 minutes with you and I watch the rest on weekends while I knit. I love the variety of projects you shared today and the Rain & Roots yarn too.

    Kelly, I was watching the replay at work and actually laughed out loud when you said "this strikes me as something Natalie would be doing in her backyard " (re: the natural dyeing). I have, in fact, done it. Over the course of a year I did 20 colours. With plants from my yard and the wild space behind where I work, and food waste like onion skins, made my own mordant with rhubarb leaves, and used rainwater for as many as I could. It was a super interesting project.

    Many years ago my Dad crossed Suffolk and Polypay sheep breeds to produce well-tempered ewes with high milk production to support multiple lambs. The bonus was the beautiful fleeces - a nice crimp and length. This year Dad graciously gifted me the fleeces from Tansy, Milkweed and Sunflower. There’s some spinning in my future which I’ve never tried before, and I’m delighted to have a bit of the farm to treasure always. Thanks for a lovely evening full of inspiration, and I hope one day to be able to catch you live.

    Great knit chat, folks. I made some polypay slipper socks last fall & I put them on most mornings, it's a nice springy wool. I got that from Small Bird Workshop in BC. It is a funny name. I expect sheep names to sound like the English countryside, not like a bank machine. But it is nice wool! So good to see you doing well, Noelle, you take care of your precious self.

      @KnitsnPieces  ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree Sheela, polypay does sound like a bank machine name 😂

    Lovely podcast, as always my favourite. Your finished objects are so inspiring and pieces of knitting wisdom are precious and always appreciated. I love Kelly’s new dress, so nice that you can wear it in the different ways, and Noel’s colourwork cardigan. What a stunning knitwear with some very practical modifications. I like adding short rows to my garments, however I have noticed a wonky stitch. It happens in my last row, where I knit and pick up a short row created on the purl side and now it has to be resolved on the knit side. It is more visible in the light or smooth yarns. I like to use German short rows for reference. Andrea Mowry has a video about it, but she uses “wrap and turn” method. Any suggestions or video links would be great.

      Thank you Kasia for the kind words! I know exactly what you mean about the short row bumps. I have switched to this method that Patty Lyons has posted and it is a real game changer….completely smooth transitions! Give this a try pattylyons.com/2018/06/germanshortrowsintheround/ and let me know how it works out for you.

    Noelle, I have the Friday Tee in my favourites for a possible knits using holst coast . I know you both have knit with this yarn so I thought I would give it a try and seeing as you’ve knit this pattern do you think it’s a good combination? Thanks for any input.

    • @KnitsnPieces
      @KnitsnPieces  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carol, I think the Coast would be perfect for the Tee, I had actually thought of doing one for myself if it. There are several projects on Ravelry using it.
