You can keep the settings!
Inside the carmera settings have “more setting” ( course I use Chinese menu I’m not 100% sure the English name),
and a option like “ keep the previous setting “ , then you can keep the sharpness / etc… every time you open the camera app

Small update, video recordig itself can be changed in settings so it loads in the resolution you want!
and I talked with someone on Vivo's team and they are working on those settings for Contrast and so on to stay on what you made it!
Great work the zoom really is something that is in my opinion pretty damn nice nice eyes shots keep up the good work hope this helps your travel

Great follow up video. I hope Vivo sees what a smart move they did sending this to you and keep you on their side now.👍 As i said in your previous video, i was thinking to import it, but then i saw the x90 Pro Plus discounted to around 770€, which is 300€ cheaper. And jas that phenomenal fingerprint sensor. Decisions decisions...😅

Your lightroom edits are amazing! I would greatly appreciate any tips on how to get my photos into this shape. 😍
Thank you man! Honestly a decent amount of helped by presets it reads, but then of course you need to tweak it! But by default I often turn down the brightness to get more depth in the shot, I up the contrast, and with the blacks and whites I try to balance that. Tip: Hold Alt where you are sliding the black till you see a bit of black appear, and do the same with the white till a bit of white appears, it just makes the photo "pop" a bit more.
the rest is really playing by eye, for instance the church has a really "moddy" mystic feel, here I would use more contrast, and that allows for instance the stainless glass windows to POP and really make that shot look dramatic and cinematic,
at some vignette and you're good to go, it will pull people's focus on those windows a lot because of the colours ^^
With flowers, again contrast helps seperating the leafs a bit, as well as highlights.

@@hubert_rutkowski In Lightroom you have a tab called presets, and then the tab recommended will give you some options, doesn't always work, but still something that MIGHT help you out ^^
@@hubert_rutkowski As a photographer I can recommend getting the paid version of Lightroom, it's very cheap and worth it There you have premium or recommend presets that you can apply, and even adjust the intensity of the presets before applying them, if say... something is too intense and dramatic. That's honestly the easiest way to edit, but from there you can learn more and more, but presets are the perfect starting place

Very nice video. I love the fact that you now can change the sharpness and saturation as well directly while using the automatic photo mode. On the X90 Pro+ you could only change brightness and contrast. Which is already better than on most other phones and as the X90 Pro+ doesn't really oversharpen photos its no big deal, but still its great to have that option now and therefore more control especially as some other reviewers were complaining about a slight oversharpening on the X100 Ultra. But you are the first one I've seen so far showing the availability of these 4 options. I don't understand why other don't show that as I think complaining about to much brightness or oversharpened photos is kind of wrong if you have the ability to change these settings super quick and easy. On phones where you can't do that and need to edit them afterwards I understand the criticism

I switched from the X100 Pro to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Yes, the 14 Ultra is struggling with macro focus. Vivo is way more effortless. Love it.
Yeah because with the Xiaomi it isn't a seperate mode, so the camera has to see if you are trying to take a macro shot or not. Just more of a hassle because of it, where with the Vivo it is just in Macro mode, not trying to see what sensor it needs.
It happens when you shot in 75 mm , but you can use a proper macro mode , called Super Macro , and works well .

Does the Xiaomi 14 Ultra not have a dedicated macro mode? On my 13 Pro I have a toggle where you can force select the macro mode from Off, Auto or Supermacro. I would have thought that since the 14 Ultra uses similar floating lens tech that a similar option would be available. I haven't physically seen the 14 Ultra so don't know.

You can save the setting in advance and set which resolution is used in which mode and then it will stay that way.
The setting is also stored on the X100pro.

Great footage/review! I've seen some other early reviewers comment on dropped frames during video recording. Have you noticed this during your testing? If so what conditions are you seeing this happen? Also is 10-bit color available for video capture?

For video, I haven't really noticed that, with zooming in maybe some, but that could be because I was walking and then zooming in, you create this effect with it, but I haven't done much regular video yet, but I will test that out! :) And with android that is normally a panning shot effect

Tempted to switch my Xiaomi 14 Ultra for this - got a feeling that given a couple of further software updates, this will pull ahead?
That is so hard, ok question, what kind of photography do you like? DO you like the cinematic approach? or do you like the more brighter approach on your shot?
The biggest answer is there, the xiaomi is the more "dramatic" photography approach
@@ThroughJermainesLensgenerally prefer the brighter shot. Somewhere between Xiaomi Authentic and Vivid I guess. Plus I like Macro photography and take lots of pictures of my kids so consistency is important.
@@WhiteHartMart mmmmmm then out of the 2 I would say Vivo is probably the way to go :) and I heard that with the latest update on it shutterspeed has increased even more on that X100 Pro ;)

I have pro, my friend have ultra. For now, the software on pro is better. But after some updates maybe on September onwards the ultra environment already great

Since the zoom photos were blurry and users report it to Vivo. If someone already has the Pro, i think, no point to get the Ultra. No major differences between them.

The hardware of the ultra is definitely superior. At the moment the difference is probably not that big as the X100 Pro is on the market longer and therefore has gotten some software updates which solved issues. Whereas the X100 Ultra is available only for a short time and therefore a lot of updates will be coming refining everything and using the superior hardware even better which will most likely make the difference between the Pro and Ultra bigger!

Kann mir irgendwer sagen warum auf meinem 14 ultra youtube nur mit 60hz läuft im adaptiven Modus? Wenn ich fix 120 hz einstelle dann geht es. Irgendwie scheint mir die adaptive Anpassung nicht ausgereift, die kameraapp läuft auch nur auf 60hz
Ich würde sagen „möglicherweise“, weil es wirklich nicht nötig ist, dass TH-cam mit dieser Geschwindigkeit läuft, und vielleicht hat das Xiaomi 14 Ultra das Gefühl, dass es das in diesen Einstellungen nicht braucht? Ich bin mir allerdings nicht sicher

Hello.
Where would you put the Xiaomi 13 pro considering that it has a 1" sensor? If you were to compare it to the smartphones you've had so far that have 1" sensors.
I'm planning to buy a smartphone with a 1" sensor, so I'm looking at the Xiaomi 13 pro, and I'm also looking at the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, and I'm also looking at the Vivo X100 Ultra,
I'm even considering the Sony Xperia VI, however, it has the smallest sensor of all listed (with 1" sensor) smartphones, but it has the best macro mode.
Sony is even quite expensive ( aprox.1400€) considering what it offers for that price.
Ok so what kind of photography do you like? A lot of down to that. So you like contrasty images or do you like a bit brighter approach and uncanny good dynamic range? for the Oppo sadly I cannot give you an answer there :( I haven't tested it and it would be unfair for me to rate that one.

I don't have anything special that I would single out for photography, as usual, I would take pictures of anything and everything, macro, portrait, landscapes, zoom, etc.:)
There is a large selection of (mostly chinese smartphone) smartphones with a 1" sensor, but these smartphones cannot guarantee that they will give a great picture, I have seen the pictures taken by the sony (yt) xperia vi, and I can say they are great, of course, the sony has a smaller sensor, but it does not necessarily mean that they are photos worse than smartphones with larger sensors (1").
I looked at your reviews about the xiaomi 13 pro and you praised that smartphone a lot, especially the camera, which is phenomenal. I'm just curious, do you still think the camera is great on the 13Pro or are there better smartphones with even better cameras with 1"?
Would you honestly recommend this for RAW portrait photography? I've senn this is f/2.5
There is no sensor with an f stop of 2.5? And so far I haven't shot RAW yet, really limited time use.

Ok so do you like the contrasty images on the Xiaomi? the feel? because Vivo really goes for more of a different style. That is the biggest part for it.

It is more that they are both very different style. Xiaomi is more the contrasty natural look, vivo more the brighter bit more saturated look. So it REALLY depends on what you prefer between those 2 looks. Did a comparison between the X100 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra, that should give an indication

well it is more as an indication of the approach, the x100 pro will have that similar approach. if you like the more cinematic natural camera look, then Xiaomi will do better, if you like the brighter shot then the Vivo will do better as well it is more reliable for me.
But if you are on the 13 Ultra and you like that style, there is no need to upgrade ^^

so that the video doesn't come back at 1080p you have to save the default video quality in the settings, e.g. 4k 60fps :)

I don't know if you noticed but you say "Ultva" and "Contvast" but in the most of the words your "r" is perfectly fine.
I have the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and I absolutely love it. But it has a major flaw, which is it's inconsistency with skin tones, sometimes it gives me a perfect representation of my kids skin tones, and times they look washed out, especially when using portrait mode.
Do you believe that the Vivo has the better camera system? And out of the two, which one would you pick?

I switched from the vivo x100 pro to xiaomi. Mainly because i had the chinese version and i cant live without android auto.
Yes vivo, at least the x100 pro, has the better skin tones, also is better at shutter speed which helps with kids.

for the camera system it isn't an easy answer, it depends a lot on the approach you are looking for, Xiaomi by default has the more photography authenthic dramatic look.

@@ThroughJermainesLens that's the only gripe that I have with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's camera. Hopefully they will fix that, and maybe give us the option to enable HDR manually, because as much as I like their approach of not relying heavily on HDR, sometimes I find the need to it in some scenarios.
As for the style of the images, that was one of the reasons that I bought it, images come out as if they were taken by a professional camera. And what I appreciate the most, is the fact that both of the zoom lenses are more than reliable, even in low light conditions, I know that they'll give me a very detailed pictured with on point white balance.
@@Granturion I have two kids and 3 cats, and in my case, it's very rare for my 14 Ultra to have a shutter lag, vast majority of their pictures are sharp with zero focusing issues.

Definitely X100 Ultra, its the most consistent of the 3. There might be certain situations where one of the other two phones is slightly better than X100 Ultra, but they also produce way worse results in some scenarios. The Vivo software and camare algorithm is just superior. Also you already have a lot if control over your shot in the Vivo camera app as seen in the video without going into Pro mode. So you can super quickly change saturation, sharpness and brightness if you want to in the normal photo mode
Please make camera comparisons between x80 pro 100 pro and 100 ultra eagerly waiting for insights

Yes, however it is limited to max 4k 30fps
How to enable video log mode?
Pro mode, then select video bottom right, then select log second from right at the top. Max is 4k 30fps

I have been dreaming of the day that I have a proper VIVO phone before I sue the company for infringing my name. 😂 The last one is a joke btw. Great video. The quality is just admirable. More power to your page.
Oh I have tried the S24 Ultra and I call tell you... if you care about camera DO NOT get that one, the camera performance is just not good enough for the price at all.
Though the Vivo is of course china exclusive so do keep that in mind with things like bands, and I think no support for google auto.

been sitting and watching whole videos in TH-cam about vivo and xiaomi. Those are my 2 favourite one. I would prefer vivo. Why? Reasons
Reasons to buy xiaomi-
1).ileca colour profile, authentic/ saturated
2). 5x optical lens( if you really cares about photography)
Reasons not to buy: 1.Overexposed videos in bright conditions,some times in photos too
2.quick expore shifting. Macro focus issues i guess
3. Not well optimised portraits and edge detection. Edge detection is usually fine. Blow up the face with whiting of skin. But in perfect lighting conditions. Amazing shots
4.ldk about 14 ultra, but definitely fogging issues in rare situations. Honestly i would buy only because of the lieca colour profile :)
Reasons to buy vivo:
1. High dynamics range seen so far. (photos and videos)
2. Well controlled highlight in photos
3.potrait king in all situations inspite of anything. Awsm edge detection out of any other devices
4. Regarding software. May suck if you don like. Personally idc
Lots of options compared to Samsung tho
4. Best sensor crop 2x and other sensors crop pictures.
5.zieus colours. Options to choose your taste. Natural / saturated.
Reasons not to buy vivo
1. Softing of skin in some conditions
2. Software if you don like
3. Processed or oversharpening i would say its pleasant sharpening. Don buy if you absolutely don't like oversharpening
At the end. Its all about the thing what you want out of a phone.
If you are really interested in photography
in terms of colour- xiami
In terms of dynamics range - vivo
if You are really focused on videos, Nobody hasn't really beated iphone ,so go for iphone.( only for videos)

I would prefer vivo overall.

great way to put it honestly! And I would say SO FAR I agree based on my experience, and that also makes my complete review on the Xiaomi such a thing where I am thinking how do I narrate this, how do I process this in the video where I confy that message really well!
everything is on point, tho i have to say that Vivo beats Iphone in situations when shooting night video, it is both more stable at all focal lens and is less noisy while being brighter and better highlight control, its far from perfect don't get me wrong, phones still really struggle with night videos but Vivo does it better. i think what makes the biggest difference is stabilization tho. i may sound like a fanboy but i have seen this in all comparisons

Hi, Lets talk about video my friend, today i am tested mi 14 ultra and i am very very very disappointed on details on video, because bitrates are ridiculously low, 8k only 73k bitrate, 4k 60fps 37-38k bitrate 😮 4k 30fps is worst, how can this 1inch sensor sacrificed so bad at video specs i dont inderstand, i got p40 pro plus from 2020, 4k 30 fps 50mbit, 4k60 fps 100 mbit and details are fascinating... İ cant review closely vivo x100 series but i wonder recording bitrates, have a nice day 🎉
Having all of the photographs vertical doesn't really help viewing photos on TH-cam also zooming in would help a little bit. We don't need to pixelpeep but just a little bit closer would also help to see if AI is doing something weird
It is such a way of taking pictures for me because i often look at it at a point of view of photography, but I agree! I should zoom in after showing it first at it's first showing. Will attempt to improve on that!

Select portrait, then click the lens, it will give you street portrait (35mm)

Also try pro video (denoise off)

The early outdoor scenes are so full of wind noise I am passing on all ultra cameras just for that reason. If I cannot get 3.5mm (sturdy) jack that accepts external mike I'd be paying good money for bad audio.

Which do you think is better? Xiaomi 14 Ultra or Vivo x100 Ultra?
So hard to give an answer on it, will do a video properly explaining it, but it is down to preference a lot, Xiaomi for instance goes for the more photography authenthic look, where vivo goes for the brighter saturated shots with uncanny dynamic range thati sn't matched by anyone and less dramatic and contrasty.
@@ThroughJermainesLens On the other hand, I also think that Xiaomi's system is better - I'm talking about the unlocked bootloader with same system, but community version. There are additional camera options such as whether it should take medium or face on both selfie and main camera. I've heard that Vivo lights up photos when it detects a face.

For the vivo, I have taken 1 shot of myself, not yet proper portraits of others though, and Vivo for me performed far better taking that shot of myself, and yes vivo does have a brighter approach, Xiaomi is just more dramatic hahaha

i been sitting and watching whole videos in TH-cam about vivo and xiaomi. Those are my 2 favourite one.
Reasons to buy xiaomi-
1).ileca colour profile, authentic/saturated.
2).5x optical lens( if you really cares about photography)
Reasons not to buy:
1.Overexposed videos in bright conditions,some times in photos too
2.quick expore shifting. Macro focus issues ig
3. Not well optimised portraits and edge detection. Edge detection is usually fine. Blow up the face with whiting of skin. But in perfect lighting conditions. Amazing shots
4.Idk about 14 ultra, but definitely fogging issues in rare situations.
Honestly i would buy only because of the lieca colour profile :))
Reasons to buy vivo:
1. High dynamics range seen so far. ( photos and videos)
2. Well controlled highlight in photos
3.potrait king in all situations inspite of anything. Awsm edge detection out of any.
3. Regarding software. May suck if you don like. Personally idc 😂
Lots of options compared to Samsung tho.
4. Best sensor crop 2x and other sensors crop pictures.
5.zieus colours. Options to choose your taste. Natural / saturated.
Reasons not to buy vivo
1. Softing of skin in some conditions
2. Software if you don like.😅
3. Processed or oversharpening i would say. Honestly its really good and pleasant oversharpening.
At the end. Its all about the thing what you want out of a phone.
If you are really interested in photography:
in terms of colour- xiami
In terms of dynamics range - vivo
You are really video focused guy
Nobody hasn't really beated iphone so go for iphone.( only for videos)

Downgrade of zoom, only 3.7 optical zoom?! Older smartphone like s22 ultra or Huawei p40 pro plus have 10x optical zoom, so better zoom
this vivo ultra camera soft ware need to be adjusted as soon as possible. vivo pro was more good than this new one. especially zoom shot, vivo ultra is not perfect compared to pro.
