  • In this video I will revisit the Yale 6B lishi style pick. This pick can be used to pick a variety of locks including 5 pin locks, 'pins up' locks and lock with differing chamber spacing.
On this day I learnt of the passing of Alan, who was the owner of uklockpickers. Rest in peace my friend and know that many of us UK pickers will miss you greatly.
    This pick was bought from:

Excellent video and demo mate. Luckily I'd heard that the 6b was "the one" a while ago so I've been lucky enough to get one for Christmas just gone. Just need to practice as it's a totally different skill set😊. If you don't mind me mentioning for other readers, James from Dark arts released a grommit which fits on the end of the 6 to make it a five, quite a clever idea I thought to help the less confident. Have a great weekend buddy and all the best to you and yours 🫶🤜🤛🍻

That was great to watch. I recently picked one of these up from UKLP and its a fantastic tool.
Great look at this with some good tips. I was thinking that in the 5 on locks you could write the numbers on three top of the chart.

If the pick goes into that 5 pin euro all the way then it should still line up with the markings since it starts counting 1 to 6 from the front to the back. the only reason to adjust would be if the pick stopped short due to blockage.
you could also just rotate the mortice or rim cylinder to make the pick readable instead of reading upside down and left.
anyways , have a great day

The 6b doesnt go all the way in to many 5 pin cylinders all the way hence the need to offset the markings on the lishi. This is due to body length and cam springs for thumbturns.
While you can of course rotate pins up rim cylinders in a vice, this is not possible in the field hence the demonstration 😎👍🏻

In this model it is not possible to reverse the position of the tensioning arm, which the original lishi thought very well as it is very useful to be able to reverse it for doors whose locks are on the left or right side, having this possibility is efficient.

Instead of guessing where the pins line up while using a 6 pin lishi on a 5 pin lock, Deviant Ollam has made an STL file (that he offers for free on his website or you can order printed ones if you don't have a printer) to 3d Print a spacer that you put over the front of your lishi. th-cam.com/video/Z0uEKEhczAo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CM2Tdhem8vtrU65a

Excellent videos! I have 2 questions,
    1. When trying to open a lock with the pick how do you know which direction to turn it to open it?
2.What camera are you using for these great closeups.
thank you for these great video's!

Hello mate I have a yale house lock I need to pick uk 🇬🇧 do you think this is the best tool 🔧 for the job or better one currently?

    • @Dmaclocksport
      @Dmaclocksport  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@alextop1850 it really would depend on the keyway and type of lock as lishi are keyway specific. The best and most universal tools are hooks and tensioners. Either option takes time, skill and practice of course
