Yeah, those must be New Crappie. Which is a good thing. That means that they are Spawing and Surviving. Soon that Pond should be packed with Crappie as the years go by. 😊
@@sinisterATXCrappie are notorious for overpopulating a body of water, then becoming stunted. If you don’t do some population control you end up with thousands of minnow sized fish too small to fish for.
check for weight and size for sure. Just need to make sure they are maintaining a healthy weight because they can be long but just super thin. but looks like there's decent forage and they look healthy for sure!
Crappie in ponds ive found will do well as long as you take some out. My biggest pond crappie 3 lbs. It had small crappie in its stomach. I didn't realize that till then. It must have been they had no other option.
pan the back fins out to get true measurement in states with size limits you will get a ticket for under size crappie when you stretch the back fin out and are right at size limit
I took a friend fishing a couple of weeks ago. The closest either of us got to catching anything was pulling vegetation out of the bottom of the pond. Slow rolling a road runner through that vegetation felt like nibbles from a bluegill, but that was just a tease.
Not overly high. It looks to be around a 20 foot drop off the back. Max depth on the front side is around 14 feet deep when the water level is maxed out to the culvert

Taking a super ultra light rod and a 4lb spooled tiny reel with a pocket full of tiny plastic jigs and I’m In panfish heaven!
Dude! Dig the videos. Keep up the good work!
I’m fixing to sneak in there, I got a crappie pole and a 5 gallon bucket.
Enjoy your videos! You don't want to let that pond get overpopulated with crappie.
Thanks. I suppose I should start keeping some now. I wasn't sure if they would spawn in a pond or not.
Great video. I love fishing
Why not ? Serious question. I know they compete with bass on food but any other reasons ?

Nice crappie!

Wow. Cannibal. I suppose I should order some minnows soon.
I see the gulp minnows at Walmart but never tried them before. I look at them all the time and never tried it.
Anything gulp is good just expensive and doesn’t last that long
Like your dock/boat can you tell me how you built that?
@deananderson8225 Yes, I have an older video here with the whole build on it. You may have to scroll back a ways. It was a few summers ago.

Fishing is always 50/50. I went fishing yesterday and caught nothing. Got bites, but no fish.

nice how tall is that levee?

Faster than you can catch them.
How deep is your pond
6 feet in the coves and 12 feet at the damn
Here you are. Sitting on a gold mine. 🤦🏼♂️. Definitely has to be first spawn of the ones you originally stocked.
Invite to come catch some is still open.
@@midsouthoutdoors7321 definitely need to get the girls out there soon
@@billharrison8328 Bring em
That pond is probably overstocked if nobody fish and take them out. I have 6 acre pond its way overstocked and they don't grow much.
Crappie will school by age and size at times!
