Powder coating guy was a little blue in the face, but at least he had a first-rate cloth respirator.
His lungs and airways are also blue.
At least he can assure that those are quality powder paints, first hand.
The workers are toiling very hard in dangerous conditions. But the final products are not suitable for any situation that requires high quality control. Lots of hammering, throwing, burning, etc. The products are not being tested for durability and strength. That will require X-rays and other technology. The owners who are selling these products should look at their ethics.
A good example of why major companies should not source on price alone! Major companies have a duty to ensure their suppliers are taking care of Health and safety and the environment.

He was just checking the valve for leaks, the tank was already tested, the bubble were coming from the air trapped inside the ring welded on the bottom.

The last LPG cylinder manufacturing facility video I saw showed a brand new, virtually fully automated, ISO rated unit of immense size, which was as clean as an operating theatre!

Clearly they aren't worried about OSHA, EPA, CPSC, or global warming. They're knee-deep in metal shavings and metal-working-fluid runoff, and breathing the fumes from welding and cutting torches. Probably a lot of them have smashed hands and missing fingers, but they didn't show them on screen.
And I'd love to see the Quality Control section--if they even have one.

sunglasses as welding goggles....when I showed my engineer husband (who was also the safety advisor before he retired), he nearly had a stroke.....apparently the guy will blind at a young age. Husband is surprised he's not in agony with permanent 'arc eye' already. By the time he watched the whole video his right eye was twitching and he said that nothing there is 'condusive to life' and most of the guys will be disabled or even dead in a few years. He said 'a lot of H&S can be a bit ridiculous'. But the 'nuts and bolts of it' is there for a single reason - to allow people to work, but still go home alive and with all limbs and digits whre they should be at the end of each day.
TL;DR - the lack of safety means most of the guys you see will be dead or diaabled in a few years. Case in point - sunglasses as welding goggles.
This may be a local low budgeted factory situated somewhere not approachable by the authorities. Otherwise authorized factories are ISO 9000 certified.

They usually don't have doors and sometimes no windows, just some holes for passing through, so gas leaks should't be a problem :)

Я вааще в ахуе ! Судя по цвету это обычный декопир ( ст 3 с большим содержанием фосфора для лучшей гибкости ) . Хотя баллоны для сжатых газов должны делаться из высокоуглеродистой стали с обязательным отжигом после сварки . Да и что их ( пакистанцев ) жалеть ? Их там 226 млн на такую маленькую страну .

The PTFE tape being used - you need to use a gas certified PTFE tape. That one is for water.
Terrible metal corrosion at the point of manufacture. I know money is scarce but the bottles will not last long. It's false economy to make them like that.

Если не учитывать что толщина металла на баллоне раза в 3 меньше той что должна быть, и то что проверку давлением не проводили мне как то ссыкотно было бы юзать эту поделку.
@@aleksandr4626 как же эту проверку проводить. От повышенного давления этот баллон может ебнуть. Вот и не проводят.
Впрочем будем надеятся что опрессовку и сертификацию другая фирма выполняет. Я буду верить, так спокойнее.

Apparently hydrostatic testing hasn't been invented yet. Thatt old boy filling the brand new cylinder up with compressed air and dunking it in the water is asking to be cut to ribbons the first time one of those things fail the test. 😱 The only change they would have to make is fill the tank up with water before they put air on it, zero cost but might slow down protection. They probably have the attitude that they could just get another QA guy if the current one dies.
I'm sure if you ask that guy he's never had a cylinder fail catastrophically, at least as long as he's been there. Doesn't know why the other guy left the company 🤣🤣
And the last one that went into the test tank was leaking... see the bubbles?
I have done hydro testing in the past and it involved a explosion proof chamber where the tank was filled with water then pumped up .Never saw one burst but a blown one was hung on the wall. And...none of those tanks are stamped with the date etc.

@@5084204 looking at a pressure temperature chart for propane gas between 40° c and 60° c you can easily see between 10 and 15 bar of pressure on that tank. Standard practice is to test the tank at some percentage above the working pressure to establish a safety margin. So the answer to your question is yes. Now of course if they're only doing a leak test and not a quality check then they could be using 500 MPa, who knows.
Having worked at a propane bottling plant in the states, what was done there is the tanks were filled and heated to about 70 c and we had a team of people watching the cans go by on a conveyor while they watched for bubbles and pulled out the bad ones. Then you have a QA check and a pressure test all in one.
I agree that hydrostatic test would be a way more appropriate, however in my entire life of experience with LPG I have never heard of the tank explosion. I drove my car powered with LPG (factory setting prevents you to fill it more than 80% LPG) for 15 years and never had any safety valve discharge. These tanks are brand new. Compressor tanks that has exploded were usually very old and rusty.. Anyways, it is not my area of expertise: we both know why their way of doing things is as seen on the video.
@@5084204 My experiences are much the same as yours, and I completely agree with what you're saying. My only concern was that that thing would fail catastrophically and hurt somebody during the process. If I was building those tanks and that environment I probably wouldn't put but very little pressure in them to make sure they don't leak. I guess that's up to the customer to find out when they fill it up. Nice to get some constructive input on TH-cam instead of just trolls all the time. Take care!
