    Ajahn Brahm
    23 Dec 2016
Ajahn Brahm starts this dhamma talk with the humourous story about the monk and the tiger, which explains why monks don’t run. He goes on to talk about the benefits of humility and learning from our mistakes. And also he talks about generating energy, especially when we start to get tired.

Wonderful to see how Ajahn Brahm adapts Christmas to the Buddhist Community. Especially put a grin on my face when Santa Claus also paid respects to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha! Merry Buddhamas to you all!

There are heaps of AB's guided meditations on TH-cam. Just search for 'Ajahn Brahm meditation'. [I've been meditating on my own for several years but still like to listen to a couple of his guided ones each week. And if he ever walked into my house, my dog and cats would treat him as an old friend -- they've been listening to his voice regularly for several years!]

It's become a tradition while meditating: First cat to arrive stretches out on the raised footrest of recliner; other cat on an arm; dog lying on the other side. They ARE very quiet and peaceful...

Thank you so much for this. I have a number of painful health issues and was particularly down today, until I found this talk. :) You said about giving and caring and I really didn't know what to do at first as I am not that mobile or alert at the moment but the thought popped into my mind "it doesn't have to something big time" so I spent some time stroking and playing with our cats. Just being with them. Along with your slightly corny jokes I can say that by the time I had finished listening to this session I felt a lot better.

Thank you for keeping the meditation part of the video, for people like me who rarely gets to watch the talk live, usually by the time I can get to it, the beginning has already been cut. I wish there would be more of these meditations included in the future!

Somtimes Monks run... Somtimes they hide.. Sometimes they're scared of you.. But all they really want is just some food....To treat you right, be with you day and night. (Spears Joke) When are we starting a hire a Monk scheme? I think we should all have one. We get some peace of mind.. they get aid with their acension from the physical realm. The happy marriage. 😆 😆😆
