Absolutely fantastic, he is one of the best monks I have ever seen, it is fantastic that he can add humor and keep the talk serious. He should win a medal! :P

listening to the words of this teacher and dwelling in meditation is helping me unlock and heal and connect to my true self, thank you so much I can say I am happy those around me can't believe the change and neither can I , I feel joy and compassion, the strengh of my hate ,rage violence is being replaced with compassion, tenderness strengh and forgivness. Love to you the reader, forgive me for taking so much of your time... will meet you in the stillness... thank you Ajahn.

The Four Noble Truths is what hooked me into Buddhism. It was in the late 90s. I read a short essay about Life is suffering ... but made no reference of it being Buddhism ... until I read another book. It was as if I had discovered the fabled “Fountain of Youth.” I remember being filled with overwhelming joy that I wanted to shout from the highest mountain.

Great talk about the Joy and Happiness we still feel as we learn to accept our suffering and changes. There are some good jokes and humorous moments in this monks speech.

3 days ago I was violent abusing my girlfriend verbally screaming over house chores damaging my son ...seeing it but unable to change drinking and trying to recover from mild drug abuse and dependance, raised in a strict christian background, I was confused miserable and in pityful pain, I wanted to end it all before I damaged those around me and those that still loved me.

I had looked at buddhism before and something resonated within me but its claim that meditation would help, to seek within ... well I found it to simplistic and my ego discarded it.
Don't get me wrong if you met me you would probably never have known how contorted in pain I have been as I smiled and chatted and tried to fool you. ...I have surrended, let go understood my pain and forgiven myself,

The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion, The religion which based on experience, which refuses the dogmatic. If there's any religion that would cope with scientific needs it will be Buddhism.... Albert Einstein

Why do you address Ajahn Cha, your teacher "My Master"? Whenever I hear the words "My Master", It always reminds me of Darth Vader addressing the Emperor my master -- LOL ...I also have this image of a Master-Slave relationship LOL. Thankfully, I realize these are just conditioned images conjured up by my mind. Sadhu!

FRIENDLY ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO IS THINKING OF TAKING UP BUDDISM!
Every human is born with dignity! And you have the right to keep that. Don't end up walking the streets of Asia barefoot, dressed in rags, begging for food, and kissing the feet of monks!!
There is a purpose of our lves! Islam is the ony way for success in the life after death. Look past the negetive stereotyoes and go to the basics of Islam. You will be surprised at how badly the media distorts Islam.

Listen, this guy has his comment removed (7 minuses); I call him 'fruitcake' because he is peddling Islam in this forum on sublime Buddhist discourses. I don't care whether he is 'gay' or not (though you are rather touchy here... and off-topic)!
So try to focus on other things than your own sensations, man!
