Good luck remember do not put it in full sun they thrive in semi shade even with something like Melissa growing so close to your container that it covers it.Lift the leaves and oh what a surprise you will get!
Hi Yvonne Let me know how you go. I am starting my new water cress as we are moving into winter now. In the Australian summer watercress struggles if not in running water and in deep shade. Good luck.
I just found your video on watercress. I love it and will subscribe. You. Not the info, made me subscribe. I have a feeling that I'm going to love your videos!

Well done Keep trying remember that water cress prefers shade Water regularly to keep the fresh water washing through as in nature it grows in running water. Also sprinkle with a teaspoon of dry aged chicken manure Good luck let me know how you go
Thank you doll. My watercress from the store came with roots in soil, so I planted it in very wet soil and keep it like that. Though it doesn't seem to be growing as fast as watercress usually does. I am going to cut off some healthy stems and put them in a pot with rocks and water as you've done.. Does the water need to be changed before the 6 weeks? Please post a video showing how this looks after 4-6 weeks and the process of changing it out :) Much love Queen
Thank you Maeve Be sure to wash well if you have picked wild. After washing soak in 6% white vinegar to water for 15 - 20 minutes. This kills any possibility of the parasite fluke when eating fresh. Cooking kills it anyway.
Thanks! I’ve tried this and it works and they’re growing beautiful roots. Now I’m going to transfer them to a plant pot is that correct? Also one of them has gone to flower, so I throw that one away?
Well done WATERCRESS QUEEN. You can transfer to a pot if you wish. Keep cutting the leaves and eating them every day. Cut the flowers off and more leaves grow. Dont let it go to flower, Just like basil Good luck keep me posted on your progress
Greeting from Ethiopia. Thank you so much for this wonderful video. I have tried to grow watercress from the stem and it has been a success. Did watercress helps in constipation? If you have any info, please share me. Thank you.

They spread if put in the ground?
Hi Valeri, Watercress likes to grow with its roots in water. Land cress grows well in the soil same family. Just keep changing the water they can grow in the container . You can place container in the garden and just wash the water through it whenever you water. Good luck Love Margie

+Car K Hi There Not exactly sure what you are referring to. All plants can be exposed to bacteria. But not specifically water cress. If the water is contaminated definitely yes.
NatureHealth.com.au Hi there thanks for the reply, I really like the South African accent so it stands out for me :) I live in Brisbane at the moment, I grow Microgreens for restaurants and was thinking about doing water cress too, I love the idea of creating an aquaponics or hydroponics set-up and so have been doing some research hence I found your video.... fortunately it doesn't get cold enough here for frosts like that. You must be in Canberra, Vic highlands or Tassie?
NatureHealth.com.au I knew Sydney got cold but not THAT cold wow. I haven't tried growing it yet, I want to build an aquaponics setup and use it for that.
Absolutely!!! That's why I mentioned how cute you look. Years ago I found a video with David Carradine an American Actor and I use it perhaps once a month, if I have time. I've also attended several group sessions outside my home, and discovered I need to step up my game. My "elders" make me look horrible -- and I'm at the 1/2 century mark and have been performing for 10 years. LOL! You know how we girls tend to compare ourselves to others -- yes a terrible habit but it is what it is. Peace and Blessings. PS -- growing watercress from cuttings on my window sill now. ;)

Spinach contains an acid which inhibits absorption of iron
