they always use those kids laughing in horror films!!!!!!
They use this shit in every big movie also. one big music library to pick from and they all land on this one. one might think that this is everything they got.
It seriously is the source for it, yeah. I thought that there was no way this could be where the "giggling children" effect came from, but it turns out it actually is.
Stock sound effects are cheaper.

Agreed! One of THE most underrated games ever. I have absolutely no idea why it's never been that popular. Also why no sequels exist. It was easily my top 5 game from my childhood. The storyline was just so enjoyable and challenging.
@@alpay3300Apparently, they were going to do a sequel with Donkey Kong called… Donkey Kong Racing, with a planned release for the GameCube, but Rare kept kicking the can down the road to get everything right, and when they got bought by Microsoft, they shelved DKR indefinitely. Nintendo did release a Diddy Kong Racing remake for the DS years ago, but it was… not well received.
EDIT: My bad. Development of Donkey Kong Racing was cancelled when Nintendo turned down the opportunity to purchase its remaining 51 percent stake in Rare, and the developer was bought out by Microsoft for £375M in 2002.

this music is insanely good - David Wise is incredible, glad I was a kid when he was in his prime and got to enjoy it during the most innocent time of my life
He also composed the music for California Games (Milton Bradley) for my Nintendo Entertainment System

Gotta be honest, my first introduction to Diddy Kong Racing was the remake on Nintendo DS. Heck, I didn’t even know there was a version on N64. As for the DS version, I thought it was alright, but nothing too special. I do remember the intro animation being a bit lame though. It was literally just 3 of the characters flying toward the camera, and the angle never changes. So imagine how blown away I was when I booted up the N64 version for the first time! Like, holy crap! This version is a huge step up! It’s not as good as other game intros, but it’s a heck of a lot better than the DS version!

Diddy Kong Racing and F-Zero makes me wonder why Mario Kart 64 used sprites.
Probably because it was an early game on the console on a smaller catridge (I think) and they didn't know how to program well for it

Me too! or i am doing it now, i wasn't born when this game came out and i don't have a N64 Console so i am emulating the game. These N64 games are the best games i have ever played! Conker's Bad Fur Day is also pretty Awesome.

If this is not awesome Nintendo music, then I don't know what is. Diddy Kong Racing is the first N64 game I played, and I probably played it more than any of my other games.

After 20 years I still say it: Diddy Kong Racing was much better than Mario Kart 64. Diddy Kong Racing had an adventure mode, battle mode and racing mode, there were more vehicles, levels and characters. Mario Kart 64 only had a racing mode, a vs mode and a battle mode.
Both games are great and gave me a lot of fun in my childhood, but I can't understand why some people still say that Mario Kart 64 was better.

Correct but Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway (Nintendo Switch) literally blows Mario Kart 64 (Nintendo Switch Online) out of the water
I remember my dad bought me and my brother an N64 and I would always play this all the time, to this day it's my favorite video game of all time along with kirbys adventure and Rayman origins
One of my favorite things was that in the title screen the intro changed its theme depending on what character you had selected which was honestly really cool.
I wonder if any of these other characters will ever be reintroduced in some way (aside from Conker and Banjo)

This game was the only version to release in Japan. The remake on DS didn’t release there.
But the inverse happened with Conker’s own game (BFD & L&R)
And none of Banjo’s games released after the Microsoft buyout have released in Japan (unsure about Nuts & Bolts).
So this is technically the only time Japan has witnessed the characters introduced here. Makes you think about it, huh?

20 years later and I remember every note in that catchy song. At one point I forgot where I had heard that tune, and thought I must have made it up, since it isn't a 'song' that I could find anywhere. I love this game nonetheless.
