I’m so glad I’m not the only one who struggled. The track itself and the song is good, but the silver coin challenge was the hardest thing I did in the game. Even harder than Wispig for me.
This track hit hard! Especially when it actually was the holidays (November/December) and we were eating turkey or we were gonna open presents soon. We played while eating the Tasty Cake Holiday cookies. Those days are long gone……I’m gonna go cry now
One of my favs from this OST! David Wise’s simple and uplifting tunes are absolutely perfect for any family fun game such as this. His genius arrangements of the progressions between the 1, 4, 2 and 5 chords are absolutely masterful.
@@nthgth David Wise and Grant Kirkhope were both composers at Rareware back in the SNES and N64 days. David is famous for groovy and elegant music from Donkey Kong Country, while Grant is known for upbeat and amusing music from Banjo-Kazooie. Both of equal skill but different styles. philiptomczyk655 is surprised this is a David Wise piece because it's bouncy, silly, and full of joy like a Kirkhope piece. Normally David doesn't make music like this.
@@Cronieock oh I see. I've long known both of their Rare stuff (as well as Graeme Norgate's) from back in the day but never thought about the core differences in preferred style.
This brings back memories from a sketchy mario kart wii mod this music was in. Remembered it a couple of days ago and started searching for it. Now I have finally done that

is this the real lyrics to an old song that David wise just bootlegged for tis piece? I'm curious because in Everfrost peak it seems like the composer ripped The Chicken dance for several seconds of the song, so I didn't know if you were some other person with cultural knowledge as to where this song takes it's tune from.🤷♂
I know David Wise made songs in this style dating back to Donkey Kong Country 3, as there's secret Christmas bonus levels. I wouldn't be surprised if its mostly original because he studies music composition and can basically replicate the "formula" of different song structures. I know Gruntilda's lair theme is slightly plagiarized because Kirkope copied a song about bears in the woods. The lyrics I posted were from a deceased punk rock singer Jay Lee Lindsey, who sang a very similar melody in his song "Night of Broken Glass"
It's that time of year again.
🎉🎉💥
I'm glad I'm not the only one who makes it a tradition to listen to these every holiday season
OMG SAME 😂
I had everybody dancing to this song at work this Christmas. Lol they didn't even know where it was from. That jumpy guitar goes so hard!
There's barely any guitar in this
Really? I hear it being played on the offbeat throughout like the whole song. And the lead part.
@@YoungMoonPlays Yeah it's an acoustic guitar of some kind I think.
I love that 🤣 wish I was there! I woulda known! Haha sounds like fun
Legend
The sliver coin challenge on this stage tho.☠
💀
Ah I couldn't ever beat it
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who struggled. The track itself and the song is good, but the silver coin challenge was the hardest thing I did in the game. Even harder than Wispig for me.
Yea 😂☠💀
For me it was pretyu easy, what was not was the green wood village silver coin challenge
Merry Christmas 2024 :)
Play Diddy Kong Racing again this year brought me here hehe
Merry Christmas too!
This song gets still stuck in my head at random times, 25 years later.
Legit fun song to whistle while you work!
this is what childhood sounded like
Ahhh yes, i remember getting this in Christmas of 97. First N64 game i ever played! Such wonderful memories!
Frosty Village,Click Clock Wood from BanjoKazooie and Freazy Peak are perfect winter themed songs.
also, Cool, Cool Mountain from Super Mario 64, Frappe Snowland from Mario Kart 64, Chilly Waters from Mario Party 3. And, Walrus Cove from this game
This is the ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS SONG 🎉 THE NOSTALGIA BRO...
Love this ost. So nostalgic! Really feels like Christmas and brings home that childhood carefree feeling!
Walking in a winter wonderland!!
Facts 😝
More like driving or flying :D
Time to use this song again. Merry Xmas everyone! 2024
Merry Christmas ⛄🎁🎄
GO FOR IT!

David wise is a genius
We had an awesome childhood
It snowed in Houston yesterday, I was humming this as I built my snowman. 😁
0:58 to 1:19 is the best part of the song. Really does give you holiday vibes.

Still can't believe David Wise composed this, sounds way more like a Kirkhope piece.
Care to explain?

This is one of those instrumental songs that feels like it should have lyrics.
oh my god it does feel like that
It kind of already does since it's based largely on "Winter Wonderland"
It's weird that this is my favourite christmas song
Merry Christmas, everyone! 2024
This where gaming beaver used in his Christmas sponsor moments
So who else got that game at Christmas 1997?
It's christmas surfing western vibes
It's a Christmas in July theme but it fits the level lol
My Favorite music 1 From Diddy Kong Racing
Sounds like an awesome Christmas Album from Brian Setzer.
It never get old happy holidays 😝

Frosty Village (Snowflake Mountain)
Am I insane or was it Mandela effect, but I'm certain there was aguitar riff during the loop at the start.
