This video and teaching process was well done. Even if he never proceeds as a detailer, he will at least know how to properly care for his own vehicles. I wish I had someone show me the correct way to clean my vehicles when I was younger.
I also started working on cars when I was 13. I first started working at a body shop doing body work & doing the color sanding & detail every day after school. I then worked at a shop where we rebuilt cars & sold them. I found what I liked the most from the process was doing the exterior detailing with the paint, so I focused primarily on that. It's hard to believe that it's been 42 years now since I started this whole process.
Good for you Colby! It’s pretty damn cool that you’re willing and eager to sharpen your skill set. If you always keep your mind open like this you’ll accomplish great things in life. Great work my guy!
Used a leaf blower to dry my vehicle since 1996 people call me crazy I just laugh at them, Have you tried spreading the tire shine with a brush to get into the cracks and cervices ?
Great video. Colby's a nice kid, and Jason you're an excellent mentor and obviously an all-around good guy. I found your channel via referral from The Car Car Nut channel, and I'm glad I did. Best Regards from sunny 'n HOT Palm Springs, CA. 🥵
I handwash my vehicle once a week but I don’t always love it especially because of the time it takes 😂 it’s not kept in a garage so an hour later it has pollen all over it. Is it ok to just wipe the pollen off or do I basically have to keep washing the pollen off?
Wow what a lovely thing to do with that young lad let's hope he continues with detailing including the outside of the car's!! 😁 And can I also just ask about the wash bucket on wheels + the attached tool holder on the side of the bucket where can you buy these from? 🤔Kind regards Dave... 👍🏻
Nice! This is about the age I started detailing circa 1980! I started with my Dad in our driveway and soon made friends with local old school used car dealers and they showed the tricks of the day to really start detailing and I was doing theirs (at $25 a pop!) for a full detail! :) We just called it car cleaning back then and had very little in the way of all the tools that are used today. I'm glad to see Colby taking up the mantle and actually wanting to work, far too many young people can't be bothered or or are too busy on a video game to do anything productive sadly. Proud of you Colby keep it up!
Lol yup I started washing cars at a Mitsubishi dealership in Germany at 13 in 1984. Some kids have the work gene and some don't. My 13 year old worked last 2 summers at camp, my 18 year old hasn't worked yet, my 19 year old stepson hasn't worked yet, my 26 year old started working at 13 and never stopped...weird. my 9 year old says he's not gonna work lol
@@ChicagoAutoPros I've been using Eagle One Tire Swipes for the past 17 years to apply 303 Aereospace Protectant to my 2006 LS430's tires. Are the Scrub Ninja applicators just as pliable as the Tire Swipes? I like how the edges of the foam Tire Swipes fit between the tire bead and the rim, and can reach fairly deep into the "flat spot" of the tire that's touching the ground -- yes, I'm a bit anal when it comes to the appearance of my Pirellis. 😎
More young people need to get the work ethic that this young man has! With Jason mentoring him, this kid will be a success!
Great job giving back and teaching a good kid the right way to do things!
These comments are so nice and Colby really appreciates all the kind words! Thanks again, Jason! Can’t wait to be back! 😊
This is a great way to get young men doing the right things! I like how you kept saying "you can upsell" ! 😆 MAKE THAT $$$
This kid is going places. I appreciate his effort, plus, he is learning that money doesn't fall from the sky. Good job, man, keep hustling 👍
This is awesome! You’re a great teacher Jason.

This is awesome, I love seeing a young kid get after it and earn their own money and get interested in something. Keep up the great work, Colby!
Nice job Colby! Keep it up.
Way to go Colby!

Some times if using a shop vac I switch the hose to the exhaust side and use that to blow in hard to get parts

second. Can't wait to get my kids going on detailing. They're 6 and 9. The 9 year old is getting good with rinseless and using the correct pressure.
Thinking this would be a great summer internship program. Thanks Jason.
Great video! Thank you!!
Yay Colby!! 😊

In Asia and even in Mexico , I saw they use high lift jacks to clean the underbody and they mostly take the wheels out. Why not in the USA ?
do you sell those wash mitts in CSW?
what is the reference?
nice to see someone have some drive to make some money and learn something new.
hire him when he wants his first job!
Jason, you should have filmed this in one of your Bays?
Awesome! 👏👏
Never thought of using the scrub ninja as a tire applicator
It’s better than your bare hand🖐️

Kid is gonna go back to his moms friends and tell them yesterdays price is not todays price! He a pro now and they gotta pay to play!
Well done Jason and Colby! (You could have used a car with at least SOME dust or dirt on it!) LOL!
This guy is mini jason for now lol
I dream of washing a car with Jason 😢
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Why are kids so tall these days
For real 😂
Growth hormones in fast food! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Because of the genetic background from his parents plus I bet he's into basketball or some sport.
Genetics and also better nutrition is available for proper growth.
Nice job dude! Hope you get your new baseball bat real soon! Keep it up! Well deserved! 👍👊👊
First!!!!!
I started at 10 doing my dad's and grandpa's cars and then my uncle's and aunt's. Never did it professionally like he stated, awesome kid.
Koby will be 6 ft judging his long legs for a 13 year old 👍
More like 60 feet 😂
