      Not at the moment but I probably will for the new set of wheels I got for my g35. They’re Rays LMGT3’s :) 18x9+25 in the back and 18x7+22 in the front, nice and flush without spacers. I’m also on coilovers and it’s dumped, and rolled so if I pick the right sizing of tires and a bit of fender pulling they’ll be nice and tucked with no rubbing. I currently have 235’s on the back, and I don’t want a lot of stretch so hopefully it’s not too crazy.

      Fitment Industries When I got my first set of stretched tires no one in my county would install them, except for Farm &Fleet. And my my my they didn’t like me very much after that, let alone they scraped the life out of my esr wheels lip. The next set of tires for it I drove a county over to a pro shop. Lesson learned😂

      It's very easy. Tires are measured by mm. Example. 8 inch wide is 203 mm. So run a tire size that's closest to that measurement. 205 or 215 would get you that perfect vertical sidewall.

    • @snek9353
      @snek9353 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vizualmrs Close, 205 for example is section width(widest point when mounted on preferred wheel) not tread width and tread widths vary between tires of the exact same sidewall marked dimensions. Tread width is what needs to be matched and it's generally an inch or so narrower then the section width. The Tire Rack website does a great job listing tread width and recommended wheel width.

  • @fromthegods78
    @fromthegods78 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Not absolutely true. All racecars run a slight amount of stretch, even Formula 1, google it, very visible. Probably to stiffen up the sidewall, the same reason why lower profile tires are prefered. Also, not sure about the aquaplaning risk. In the wet, you need a narrow slightly over inflated tire to form the tire into a wedge so it can expell water from under it and grip the tarmac. A wider and normally inflated tire would trap the water under it actually increasing the risk of aquaplaning. You're ignoring how different wet setups are from dry setups. So it's not that simple. BUT, I totally agree on the stupidity od stretch camber and lowering stance style 🤜🤛

      Depends in part on the exact tire, not all 235/45/18 tires will have the same tread width and that's what matters. In general though the 225 would have some stretch, I'd go with the 235 for a daily.

    Stretched tires can be good depending on driving, a lot of drifters will use a little stretch to stiffen the sidewall for more response, not a crazy stancy stretch tho, other than that or fitment its wack

    Bought a awd daily, came with 9.5x18 wheels with a 225, bout 3 degrees of camber in back. I was going to put 255s on but the tires are basically new and i could use the money so i was just going to ride it out until next fall. but i live in michigan and its spring. is the stretch so excessive i should worry about things like hydroplaning or am i probably safe until the fall?

    Come to Europe. We have to stretch because its not possible to have that wide tyres on some wheels. You can have on some cars 225,235 max... but when you are about that stance life and want to have 9,5J wide rim there is no other possibility than stretch. Or risk to drive without having that tyre in what you calling "pink slip" ? Or ... we have technical...

    when did zero-gap from the rim to the fender wall became a thing? looks so hideous and undrivable, it's still a car. fender gap should still be from the TIRE to the fender should be zero, NOT the rim. Looks so bad and ghetto as shit, just my opinion.

  • @HearsingAround

    3% and that the max i'll do cuz nothing more annoying than not even getting to the track cuz a tire bounced off the rim

    I have a 19x9.5 +29 with 275/30 tire on the rear because my wheels costed me an arm and a leg and wanted to protect the rim as much as possible. But I have slight rubbing that adding an adjustable camber arm did not resolve. Now I'm thinking of going down to a 265/30 tire to add a little stretch to clear that rear fender. 2015 IS350 FSport RWD.

    looking on chart of tiresizes and wheel widths...does anything look stretched? nope. should you drive with stretched tires? nope. is it allowed to drive with stretched tires? not in my country. stretchy tires are founded because some people just needs tremendous amounts of publicity and attention. it looks stupid and probably drives like a turd. after all...theyre cars take damage and they are bad for the public mainstream and tuner reputation thing....change my mind!!!

    The problem being, like you said, most people tbink the worst. Well guess what politicians always tbing the worst too. What that means that thise politicians then make laws to make all "aftermarket wheel and tire combos" illegal. This is where i have issue. And for those stupis ass cambered out cars woth retarded stretch that do fucking 15mph on the highway on ramp that my oem miata could take at 90mph pisses me off. Lol

    I ran streched tires two times. Both times the tires began to vibrate after a while.
    On the balancing machine it became apparent they became deformed.
    So maybe its bad luck or streched tires dont like hard cornering.....
    I sure as hell wont use streched tires no more.

  • @abrown5516

    Camber and stretched tires are goofy as hell pointless waist of $$$$$. I want my tires wider than the wheel so the rubber is protecting the rim I want my wheel to set vertical to have my tires last as long as they can. I would rather take the $$$$ to upgrade my car instead of buying more tires I would rather be safe on a road while driving then to have my wheels horizontally to fit under my car and look ridiculous.

  • @thereefaholic
    @thereefaholic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is no benefit whatsoever and only detriment to stretching tires. People may like the looks of it, but ultimately it affects performance stability and safety. Yes you could do things to your car just because you like the way it looks. But adding some ridiculous ironing board spoiler to the back of your stock 2000 civic just because they like The way it looks, does an actually deeper form or cause instability issues. So then that’s perfectly OK. But when you got your ride that you think is all sorts of bad ass and you doing all of these various performance-enhancing features to it and then you throw in a set of stretch tires it’s like one step forward and two steps back. And that red car you showed from 30 years ago no one would consider that stretched

  • @elkillerx

    I don't think it's the best idea. My cousin had stretched tires on his integra. Almost every 2-4 months one of his tires would blow out either from sidewall cracks or hitting the smallest pothole on the road. Not to mention that it messed with the wheel balance so much that anytime he went faster than 50mph his car would shake

    I guess it's dependent on form or function? If you've got a show car then yes run stretched but if you're doing track, drag or racing then you should really be using a wider set up. It just depends on your build, I think they look crazy good when done properly but I got a mustang and need the wide boys to get the power down 😂
