Meadows is probably top 3 on my list for bodybuilders right now. You can tell he's just a super humble, genuine, and nice guy. Hope he's at the Olympia expo when I go this year cause I'd love to meet him.
he is still recovering from that workout. Nice that Dave had someone he was comfortable to train with. Not every training partner is cozy to let loose around
I don’t think you guys understand the impact that this session and these two people has on people. I have been watching this for years, I have gained so much, drawing inspiration from this. The grit, the hard work, there’s nothing better.
Do more of these videos! I actually tried this workout today, used dbell instead of kbell because we don't have them. But j must say when I hit the tbar row/ deads. I about lost it. Good stuff! Tate and meadows are the man!
Quick question Dave, do you happen to know what make and model of camera you guys are using to film the vids now? Insane quality! Thanks man. Keep it up!
what are the benefits for you, now training in a more bodybuilding style now that you are retired from powerlifting (easier on the joints, benefits of a more balanced musculature, etc)?
+cingred13 In short, I have degenerative bone disease, My left hip has been replaced. My right shoulder needs replaced and my right hip is close. All my other joints have spurs and other degeneration. Outside of not being able to hold a bar on my back there are some movements I can't do because i can physically do them and others that will cause more harm than good. I work close with my Doctor, Orthopedic and Physical Therapist and they all know I will do stupid shit but help guide me to make sure it's "safer stupid shit". The pulls at the end of this video really had noting to do with training at all. Search a video we made - search Dave Tate the void extended version. This is where those pulls falls and it's a thing that may happen once every 2-3 months. How I train now does still kinda drive me nuts but it is WAY easier on the joints and really the best way for me to train now and I have found ways that allows me to train hard (this is what I enjoy the most). At this point in my life I would rather train hard than optimal. With this in mind the slower tempos and lighter weights allow me to get what I want the most out of training. I really don't care about where my strength is at. I do have somethings I use to gauge it but really don't care that much. I also don't care all that much about how I look - even when I am lean I have tore enough stuff off it doesn't look good. I train now mostly because I love to train hard. Secondary to that would be to keep my joint health at bay. I hope this helps and answered your question. - Dave Tate
Anyone know where I can get the training log for this workout? I know a guy that's a little older than dave that would probably benefit from working out his way
exact my how training should be. ducking hard and ruthless. you should also gauge how your body is feeling. fuck need to that back work out tomorrow. Can't wait keep up the amazing vids.
