It is impossible to briefly and accurately describe the soft, tender and deep thoughtfulness that Bomsori expresses with the amazing playing of her violin (especially in Andante and in Allegro quasi presto).
During the coronavirus, I discovered the composer Fauré and his wonderful musical compositions exclusively thanks to Bomsori's magical violin playing. Bomsori's wonderful repertoire is chosen, of course, by her amazing soul, her clear mind and sensitive heart.
I can say for sure that the quarantine during the coronavirus opened to me a huge, unique, previously unknown world of Bomsori's beautiful music - a world that I never even dreamed of. And I'm incredibly happy about that.
The child and teenager Fauré was a student at he so-called Niemeyer relgious music school, where one of his teachers was his everlasting friend Saint-Saens. Apart from the splendid and moving "Cantique de Jean Racine" op; 11 composed for a final exam, Fauré was introduced into the rich amateur world by Saint Saens. This pushed him to compose mainly "mélodies" (lieder - Fauré is probably one of the great masters in that genre outside the German world (Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Wolff), together with Mussorgsky in Russia) and small piano pieces full of melodic and before all harmonic invention. But these were short pieces. This sonata, and his first quartet with piano were written during this first period. Probably he wanted to show to himself and to his colleagues, to critics and to listeners that he was able to compose large chamber music pieces in line with the demands of this style. Actually, this sonata is a miracle in trms both of melody, harmony and architecture - as in most of Mozart's works, this very firm architecture is hidden under the softness ancd continuity of musical language, while it is more apparent for instance in Haydn's and Beethoven's language. The trio of the fast central third movement always fascinated me, and could have been written by Schumann at his best. This outstanding sonata is played from time to time here in France, most often with a top level masterpiece, Franck's sonata (also in A major).
