Almost to the very minute you posted this video, I was at an outdoor church stake youth group activity, in the mountain town I live in, and after dinner at 7pm, the activity was to contemplate our sins and bad habits and decide which one we were ready to let go of, repent of. We were asked to privately write it on a popsicle stick and throw it into the bonfire 🔥 It was very impactful for the youth and I’m in complete awe at the timing. Thank you Allie!
Casting bread on the water. What a beautiful symbol of not having to take in or experience our own works. We have plenty, but we do make the bread we consume. We use sourdough, so the process would be a 12 to 24 hour meditation on the fact that we don't have to consume our own works. It also makes me think of how that shows that we have more than what we need because even if we go hungry, we still survive without that bread. So maybe we could share our bread with others more than we originally think we can. Thank you for making us aware!
I also thought while listening - casting the bread into the water maybe could symbolize casting out any charges or unforgiveness towards others or ourselves (I love when you point out towards ourselves too Allie) into the “sea of forgetfulness”
I've been studying the Jewish feasts and they are so fascinating! The symbolism is honestly so beautiful. I would love recommendations (if you have some) on studying the signs of the zodiac/constellations/stars and how they relate to the gospel. I know a tiny bit about the Hebrew zodiac calendar and I just want to learn more!
