  • This is a short video of me competing at the first COVID safe Shelsley walsh hill climb 25th july 2020.
it was a mixed weather day with some full on thunder storms. luckily my runs were damp to dry track conditions.
this is the first competitive run this season due to COVID 19 restrictions. but the Midland Automobile Club dida great job keeping us all same with the ever brilliant marshals.
my finalrun was a personal best time of 42.03s. after a spring of fully rebulding the front suspension i was very pleased with the result. 2nd in the TR Register championship at this event.
sorry about the sound the remote microphone got very wet during the day and gave up working

Nice to see a TR3A still flying the flag for vintage Triumphs. I had a '69 Mk3 Spitfire which I climbed at Baiting's Dam. Lack of synchro 1st and really cheap tyres were its Achilles heels.
Continued good luck with the car.

As always, it's nice to see a TR3 so well prepared! That car of yours really sings. I'm curious about your bonnet... Did you put the additional louvres in it? Or is that an aftermarket piece? Does it help? Mine is an oven in the summertime here in SE USA and it would be nice to let some of that engine heat out in some way!

      Thanks Don.
I had the louvres pressed into my original bonnet.
My wife said prime numbers are luckier so it’s 7, 5, 7😁

What’s the single seat leather cover called? I want to put one on a TR3 if I get a racer. Thanks

Hi Luke The cover for the cockpit/seat area is the tonneau cover. Most open classic cars have them. It can cover the drivers side as well when parked up. Very useful.
You can see in my other Shelsely video with the tonneau on and off.

Thanks for your interest and good luck with the car.

Well, if it doesn't sound like a TR 3 is supposed to sound, it isn't a TR 3!
