My respect, Lawrence for actually pronouncing their name correctly and not butchering them. I've Been your fight video breakdown fan for a while now. Thanks for doing it.
Absolutely Insane man. I prefer MMA, but it is amazing to watch fighters who are TRUE masters of their specific craft/combat sport. Great Job on the video as well man.
- as a capoeira player for over a decade, i watch mostly Muy Thai and the occasional MMA clip. Capoeira is enjoyable and effective but there's a lot of wasted motion especially in a real fight. Muy Thai? Straight and to the point with SHINS as hard baseball bats.
Rickson Gracie-"Bruce Lee's philosophy about fighting was 100% correct" we can see that in the Tao of jkd, it has moves from judo/jiu-jitsu, boxing, muay thai, wrestling, karate, etc. All main styles in modern MMA
I think Samkor exemplifies a Thais best path to success in western rules. Spamming a hard middle kick and clinching to nullify punches. One problem is some organizations don’t like excess clinching. Petchpanomrung is the closest thing to this strategy, except he has some punching in his arsenal.
Bruce Lee wasn't wrong in his famous quote, he was generalizing the number, but the point was well taken. Practicing certain strikes or counters repetitively, will make one very dangerous to deal with, and he was right, as usual. He would know, because he was well known for doing exactly that. Many fighters that came after Bruce had the advantage of his superior knowledge to draw from, yet still nobody has even come close to his skill level, and probably never will. This mans kicks deserve a lot of respect however.
This resonates extremely with me because even though I'm an orthodox boxer (right hand dominant), my left leg is dominant for some reason. and i find using the front teep and lead roundhouse kicks extremely effective to throw since it hits harder than my rear leg which is traditionally supposed to be stronger. I will try the southpaw stance and use my left leg as the rear leg to replicate this genius
Watching this I see how much he loaded up by throwing his opposite arm back as he lifts his leg, so that he can bring it back forward as he throws the kicking arm back for twice the effect essentially... and he doesn't care if it telegraphs a tiny bit more, you should already know it's coming lol
There's just too many good strikers coming out of Thailand for a LOOOONG time. Even back in the 50's and 60's when MT was just being discover. Everyone took their licking from the Thais than and now.
The only thing I didn't like about this video is that Samkor's name is not mentioned in the title and not displayed in the video enough. Other than that, best videos as ever! Thank you for the information you are giving us!
@@chinaboss6683 Respect to you, respect to Bruce Lee.. yet in my opinion a well hardened Thai fighter is a nightmare matchup for Lee. Thats how he got great, by learning so many different styles.Bruce in my eyes is a great martial arts philosopher, actor , mma innovator and all around badass. We will never know how he would fare against world class opponents in the ring.
i worked with him before in same gym, and his kicks felt like a truck even on the big heavy pads. He can lock himself so stiff on impact and the kick becomes so muh denser and stronger.
By this calculation almost all top muay-thai fighters would have thrown this many kicks depending if they have a favorite leg. Even if they have a mixed style it still be would be 5 million plus or so per leg. They all have the same crazy training regimes and start at a very young age. Excellent video, always mind provoking making you look at things from a different unexpected angles. Thank you!
Samkor still fights lol but is not the same :( but samkor is still a powerhouse! Age is for sure catching up. All in all I hope these legends live a easy and happy rest of their lives!
Hi, great content!!!! I love you videos so much. They always inspire me. I got 2 Questions regarding the video: 1. We are the Thais not using the left kick that often against each other. I didn’t got it the video 2. What do you think are the best counters as a orthodox fight to defend against this left kick. I know, hard question. Thank you so much for your great content!! Big Fan of your work!!!
I would screaming at my fighter "move to your left!!!!" And drilled moving left all through training camp. Do not stand in front of him and do not move to your right at all lol
@@christianmatteussen98 um no if you walk strait in you can and will get hit back by anyone who knows what they are doing. You have to move to an angle in order to attack without the opponent being able to hit you back
Bruce Lee didn't mean 10,000 kicks literally, he was trying to emphasize a point and obviously some people never got that point. Thanks for posting this by the way it's an awesome video . I appreciate it keep up the great work bro
interesting video, thanks. My guess is that Bruce Lee was being poetic rather than literal. Asian culture is full of references to the number 10,000. It is taken to mean extraordinary large nearly unreachable, like English uses million.
Hey man! I love your breakdowns but I gotta tell you that the math doesn't add up. 60 kicks per 3 minute round 12 rounds per session 2 sessions a day 60 * 12 * 2 = 1,440 kicks per day Trains 315 days a year 1,440 * 315 = 453,600 kicks per year 17 years between 13 and 30 453,600 * 17 = 7,711,200 kicks in his life That's still an insane number of kicks! It's just not 10,000,000 :)
Im having a very hard time believing it was anywhere near 10 million or even 5 million not saying it isnt true but there needs to be some more research who literally sat recorded and watched every single kick he ever threw his whole life if hes throwing 60 kicks each fight then hes missing a lot and losing all his stamina not to mention if thats the case who is taking those 60 kicks every time no one is because its impossible youd die and the refs wouldnt allow it im just interested in knowing where the facts are that support he legit did it 10 million times and i also want to see where 1 fighter is throwing 60 kicks in the ring by himself maybe both together throwing that many
Lol Lawrence Kenshin doing everything he can to discredit anything Bruce Lee has said or done. Like any proverbial phrase, it's not usually meant to be taken literally. Something practiced 10,000 times is still greater than something practiced once. The point is that martial artists who wanna "collect" flashy moves aren't gonna fare well against someone who has the discipline to hone one skill to the max.
Wow, now that’s discipline. 10 million kicks. I’d say he was able to master that kick and it’s obvious he used it to his advantage over and over again. Amazing man.
Back in the early 90s I would work out at a multiple martial arts club. I was there for Judo, but I would also watch the boxers and kickboxers spar in the ring there and also take in the new sport of MMA in the "cage" (which to be honest, I never thought would take off LOL). Anyway, a guy comes in, short (maybe 5'6"?), from Thailand. He knows one of the coaches and a top fighter training there (who they thought would go pro as a kickboxer) agrees to spar with him. The Thai guy takes off his sweatpants and his thighs were bigger than his waist and his shins were all scarred up, like they'd been beaten with flails for 20 years. The Thai guy threw one left roundhouse to the midsection, it sounded like a gunshot, and the top kickboxer just dropped like he'd been stabbed or something. We just stared in shock. When the coach told us that the kick wasn't even full power, we didn't believe him. The little Thai guy moved over to the heavy bag, swung it back about four feet and then kicked it full force, bending the bag in half. All I could think about was that a shin kick like that to someone's head could kill him. Been in awe of Muay Thai fighters ever since.
from an engineering perspective a bipedal being can deliver a powerful limb with the help 1. the rotational engine of the trunk 2. the leverage and grounding of the supporting leg. Having said that , no opponent coach had looked at the disabling factors of the power of the left roundhouse, they focus on training their fighters on "hacking , withstanding" it. long and short of it, practice a 1000 times in disabling his right leg ! instead of a 1000 times covering your body with gloves !!...
"Kick the Tree." Good video man. These fighters, and all fighters are a true expression of the human mind and body's ability to do anything when anything is possible. Thai people are warriors. We have alot of badasses in America, and there are many from all over the world. But since I was a kid I've respected Muay Thai fighters a little differently. These guys are freaks of nature. I had a couple nightmares when I was little where Tong Po was trying to get me haha. You know who else is badass is Chong Li from Bloodsport. Bolo Yeung. Good movie. Van Damme was a hero to me.
2:33 I'm very impressed, you can hear how you pronounced Saenchai with a normal accent and it somehow progressively got better? by the 4th or 5th name the pronunciation was soooo crisp haha. I was born in Thailand but live in Australia now!

Absolutely Insane man. I prefer MMA, but it is amazing to watch fighters who are TRUE masters of their specific craft/combat sport. Great Job on the video as well man.
Cheers!
@@LawrenceKenshin 💯🤙
- as a capoeira player for over a decade, i watch mostly Muy Thai and the occasional MMA clip. Capoeira is enjoyable and effective but there's a lot of wasted motion especially in a real fight. Muy Thai? Straight and to the point with SHINS as hard baseball bats.
Rickson Gracie-"Bruce Lee's philosophy about fighting was 100% correct" we can see that in the Tao of jkd, it has moves from judo/jiu-jitsu, boxing, muay thai, wrestling, karate, etc. All main styles in modern MMA
Skarboski winking at Kobayashi while still half conscious 👀 stuff of legend.
Hahaha
* only uses left leg*
Opponents: i wasn't expecting to be kicked on this one side so many times. He's unpredictable
I think Samkor exemplifies a Thais best path to success in western rules. Spamming a hard middle kick and clinching to nullify punches. One problem is some organizations don’t like excess clinching. Petchpanomrung is the closest thing to this strategy, except he has some punching in his arsenal.
Great breakdown as always.
Absolutely love this channel.
thank you so much for the continued support!
this channel is a goldmine thank you for all of this!!
"Samkor is the most feared left kicker"
Khm,khm, *Mirko CroCop.*
I will try the southpaw stance and use my left leg as the rear leg to replicate this genius
same brother. i punch with my right and kick with left
@@Zogang69 maybe its an advantage
@asher
I'm the southpaw version of you. Left handed southpaw with a dominant right leg.
Can't do the Orthodox stance well tho.
you were there counting them?
Watching this I see how much he loaded up by throwing his opposite arm back as he lifts his leg, so that he can bring it back forward as he throws the kicking arm back for twice the effect essentially... and he doesn't care if it telegraphs a tiny bit more, you should already know it's coming lol
That’s how the Muay Thai roundhouse is always taught lol
You learned how to read Thai a lot tho, so appreciates.
🙏👍🏻
Your pronunciation of Thai fighters names sound pretty good!
🙏🙏
Excellent, Lawrence!
Love these breakdowns every time 🔥
thank you brother
Dude your content is LEGENDARY! I love every video you make
There's just too many good strikers coming out of Thailand for a LOOOONG time. Even back in the 50's and 60's when MT was just being discover. Everyone took their licking from the Thais than and now.
It’s trueb
@@LawrenceKenshin Keep up the FANTASTIC quality videos...and please upload more. It's always a treat to watch. Thank you!
1:57 Bruce Irving
He fought Namsaknoi 7 times at least.🤯
👍🏻👍🏻
The only thing I didn't like about this video is that Samkor's name is not mentioned in the title and not displayed in the video enough. Other than that, best videos as ever! Thank you for the information you are giving us!
Bruce Lee indeed paid subtle tribute to Muay Thai. Ten thousand kick same same.
hahah yes
Bruce got his butt kicked there once. they showed some of the truth in the dragon story.

Doubt it. Too easy to slander a legend's name. Good try , troll.
@@chinaboss6683 exactly, they just jealous that Bruce Lee is a bigger legend than anyone the west produced both philosophically and technique wise
Great efforts in your Thai name pronunciation. We know the different pitch is not a thing in English language, but you did it very well for the Thai.
The legends unknown.thank you for highlighting them and explain them easy to understand by us brother 👍.God bless 👌🇵🇰
Dang even that kick to the shoulder @ 2:28 was brutal.
i worked with him before in same gym, and his kicks felt like a truck even on the big heavy pads. He can lock himself so stiff on impact and the kick becomes so muh denser and stronger.
Which gym?
By this calculation almost all top muay-thai fighters would have thrown this many kicks depending if they have a favorite leg. Even if they have a mixed style it still be would be 5 million plus or so per leg. They all have the same crazy training regimes and start at a very young age. Excellent video, always mind provoking making you look at things from a different unexpected angles. Thank you!
Swing a kick = swing a bat
Simple as that effectually Hard round kick best thing to is time guard with your knee!
Great video as always man! This makes me want to relearn everything in southpaw stance haha, those kicks look devastating.
You are very creative and your channel is unique. I am very lucky to discover such a wonderful channel
Super motivating!🥰🥰
thanks for watching!

Great channel!!!! Keep it goin !! Totally enjoyed it!
Samkor still fights lol but is not the same :( but samkor is still a powerhouse! Age is for sure catching up. All in all I hope these legends live a easy and happy rest of their lives!
Hi, great content!!!! I love you videos so much. They always inspire me.
I got 2 Questions regarding the video:
1. We are the Thais not using the left kick that often against each other. I didn’t got it the video
2. What do you think are the best counters as a orthodox fight to defend against this left kick. I know, hard question.
Thank you so much for your great content!!
Big Fan of your work!!!
Bruh I’ve seen some of his fights this dude was legit Sonny Liston but with his legs 🦵😂
for sure
Holy smokes man? That guy should be in the hall of fame. Goat for sure. Awesome video.
I would screaming at my fighter "move to your left!!!!" And drilled moving left all through training camp.
Do not stand in front of him and do not move to your right at all lol
or just bull rush him randomly and wrestle
@@christianmatteussen98 nah, you will run strait into something with that strategy
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 use hands and elbows
@@christianmatteussen98 um no if you walk strait in you can and will get hit back by anyone who knows what they are doing. You have to move to an angle in order to attack without the opponent being able to hit you back
Gotta love the left kick as it hits the orthodox fighters liver side which is a killer
Bruce Lee didn't mean 10,000 kicks literally, he was trying to emphasize a point and obviously some people never got that point. Thanks for posting this by the way it's an awesome video . I appreciate it keep up the great work bro
your tones in thai are beautiful, nice pronunciation!
he just knows how to kick. you dont need to much practice
Absolutely right!
Thank you for keeping our passion alive ❤
interesting video, thanks. My guess is that Bruce Lee was being poetic rather than literal. Asian culture is full of references to the number 10,000. It is taken to mean extraordinary large nearly unreachable, like English uses million.
Fully agree!
What an amazing fighter.I am a left kicker too.Would have loved to watch him live.
Hey man! I love your breakdowns but I gotta tell you that the math doesn't add up.
60 kicks per 3 minute round
12 rounds per session
2 sessions a day
60 * 12 * 2 = 1,440 kicks per day
Trains 315 days a year
1,440 * 315 = 453,600 kicks per year
17 years between 13 and 30
453,600 * 17 = 7,711,200 kicks in his life
That's still an insane number of kicks! It's just not 10,000,000 :)
Voiced it wrong, it’s supposed to be 15 rounds a day which adds to just about 10 mill 👍🏻
@@LawrenceKenshin That makes a lot more sense since you did say 1,800 kicks per day haha. Dude is a machine!
Im having a very hard time believing it was anywhere near 10 million or even 5 million not saying it isnt true but there needs to be some more research who literally sat recorded and watched every single kick he ever threw his whole life if hes throwing 60 kicks each fight then hes missing a lot and losing all his stamina not to mention if thats the case who is taking those 60 kicks every time no one is because its impossible youd die and the refs wouldnt allow it im just interested in knowing where the facts are that support he legit did it 10 million times and i also want to see where 1 fighter is throwing 60 kicks in the ring by himself maybe both together throwing that many
@@br0kentower292 60 kicks per pad round bro 🤦🏼♂️
Best striking break downs on the net right here.
Thanks !
Lost 30 fights . That is, one every 8 fights.....not a very impressive record..
Plus he was was disqualified couple of times...as per Wikipedia...
Losing just 1/8 of your fights to golden era fighters is impressive. Almost all the GOAT Muay Thai fighters have a win/loss ratio like this.
Another incredible video, your analysis is so good. Thanks Lawrence
Lol…
You do some of the best reviews ever! I've learnt so much from watching your vids. Liked and subscribed.
Wow, now that’s discipline. 10 million kicks. I’d say he was able to master that kick and it’s obvious he used it to his advantage over and over again. Amazing man.
Thank you for another masterpiece Mr Kenshin. 🥳
Thank you
I've watched a lot of your videos and I've noticed a huge improvement in your pronunciation of Thai names in this video especially.
Truly excellent analysis, Lawrence. Thank you.
thank you kit!
At 2.5 kicks per second, and going at that pace for 8 hours a day, 10 million kicks would take 36 days of kicking.
He can’t fire it at 2.5 seconds and 8 hours a day 😂
Your Thai pronunciation is quite good. I'm super impress
Watching his left kicks will always be satisfying.
The largest muscles in humans are in the calves and legs. Therefore, the most powerful weapon of man is the kick.
Your pronunciation on the thai names is very authentic!
🙏
Have you done a video on Yodsaenklai?
Kicking Ass Means Something Else Now.. impressive Is An Understatement wow!
from an engineering perspective a bipedal being can deliver a powerful limb with the help 1. the rotational engine of the trunk 2. the leverage and grounding of the supporting leg. Having said that , no opponent coach had looked at the disabling factors of the power of the left roundhouse, they focus on training their fighters on "hacking , withstanding" it. long and short of it, practice a 1000 times in disabling his right leg ! instead of a 1000 times covering your body with gloves !!...
Loved this one. He's fun to watch.
"Kick the Tree."
Good video man.
That Kick is SCARY!
Bruce Lee didn’t mean 10,000 kicks in a lifetime, he meant 10,000 kicks in a training session.
He meant 10,000 kinds of kick
Great video as always 👌
Thank you
Wow your breakdowns always amazes me.

2:33 I'm very impressed, you can hear how you pronounced Saenchai with a normal accent and it somehow progressively got better? by the 4th or 5th name the pronunciation was soooo crisp haha. I was born in Thailand but live in Australia now!
