I consider children as the greatest treasure. They are literally the future. 😀
So the book recommendation was great and I put it on my list. (Right now, I'm not going to a bookstore, but the next time I go there, I will check if they have it ☺)
From my childhood, I don't really remember what kinds of toys mom got us at birthdays or what brand of clothes we got.
But I still remember how my brother taught me swimming. (And how he would give a piggyback-ride in the water and then sort of dive) Or different board games. How grandpa would smile and nod, when we did something he thought of "that's how children are supposed to behave". Like exploring some appartments, that were empty or playing with each other. (Grandpa had strong, but very reasonable views on what behaviour is proper and what flat out isn't. He had a very strong moral compass. I may have gotten that from him. Not the exact same morals, but the strong views about "proper")
Anyway, my point is: I'm glad you take the time to do things together with your child. No money can replace that sort of warmth and even as an adult, you can at most buy the illusion of love. Never the real thing. It's lovely to watch.

I am a grandma and taking my children out in nature frequently is my privaledge and my passion. We have such wonderful memories and and our homes are filled with rocks, shells and pieces of bark from our adventures. Thank you for the content you bring to us! 🌿

I think it's so wonderful that your daughters school has a forest day. All schools should teach kids about nature and that its ok to get dirty while having fun and not to fear the outdoors.
