Oti is one of the best pros we've had on strictly imo. Her choreography is excellent and as a teacher she really knows how to bring out the best in Danny (who is already a great dancer) I feel like she always brings something new and her own dancing ability is amazing!!

So true! Rarely any good salsas on stricly I'm afraid. That's why they always choose a pop song and add a little popping here and there to mask the actual dance! But this one was just as fun and good as the ones experienced in salsa clubs!

I do wish they would save the pop songs for Cha-Cha-Chas and use more traditional salsa music for salsa

No one can ever be as great as Danny Mac, he was a natural and was robbed.
Kelvin isn't far behind from Danny as he has also been consistent every week but I think that might be due to Oti being an amazing choreographer.
rhonda4333 You tend to see a lot of female celebrities excelling in the show such as Alexandra Burke or Caroline Flack. But Danny Mac is undoubtedly one of the greatest, certainly the best male dancer in Strictly history.

I know Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton who won in 2016 were good, and Ore is a lovely chap and all, but really Danny Mac and Oti were just outstanding and so so good, and really beautiful to watch, I really wish they had won, every dance they did in the competition was just so well performed, and I loved their show dance in the finals, never mind...

I think some part of Joanne winning was because of Kevin as he is also one of the pros and having his sister on the show just seemed a bit weird. The thing is 2015 was his first year so that would mean this is his second year and.. I dunno the votings a bit rigged.

I don't have a porblem with Danny, I just have a problem with rabit Doti fans which can't accept the fact that Danny makes mistakes and that criticise Ore constantly when he makes mistakes yet don't day anything when Dannt makes mistakes.

Suspicious Windmills actually there was plenty of hip rotation. What you meant is specific 'figure eight' a very specific hip rotation. However, the person you support religiously... Ore...Ore's lacked the figure eight movement massively, even more so than Danny's routine.

I was just quoting what the judges said, and they said something about hip rotation. And I agree, Ore had less figure-8 action than Danny but neither of them were perfect.

I think Danny and Kelvin have been the one and only dancers that have been exciting to watch they are the best that's ever been on strictly for me.
I am in the USA so I don’t know if Strictly comes on here, but this is my first time watching this video, and let me tell you. If it had not been for the fact that I already knew about Oti being the Pro. I would have had a hard time figuring it out which one of them was the amateur, because they both danced like Pros.
There was a comment I saw where someone said how shocked they were that Strictly used an actual Salsa song during a Salsa dance. That is one of my biggest pet peeves with the US’s Dancing With the Stars show. They seldom use Salsa and Samba songs. I don’t understand why that is. Salsa dancing is best showcased when being danced to a Salsa song.
Hi Nikki. Your DWTS is the international licenced version of Strictly Come Dancing, which is an original BBC format. The (slightly odd) British name comes from the longest-running tv show the UK ever had, which was a dance programme called 'Come Dancing' (following the real amateur competitive ballroom scene) and the Baz Luhrman film 'Strictly Ballroom'. It is said to have been planned as a bit of a piss-take of ballroom dancing, but the pro dancers they recruited got together and determined to train their 'celebrities' so hard that they would actually put on a worthy performance and not allow the BBC to make fun of their art. I remember that first series and the winner (Natasha Kaplinsky) really did put on some beautiful performances.
The competition has sadly been jazzed up too much now by the producers and for several years hasn't been a fair contest, but it really lifted ballroom in the UK for quite a while.
I'm also in the USA, and I started watching DWTS in 2010, and at this point I barely even enjoy the show anymore. Strictly Come Dancing is another story however. I started watching in 2014, first on sketchy websites in poor quality and now though better, albeit still difficult ways, and it's like day and night comparing the two shows. Strictly has this magic to it, this level of positivity and fun. There's none of that reality show drama that DWTS that show the couples fighting in the packages or anything like that. Its campy in all of the best ways, and while I'm sure its not all sunshine and rainbows behind the set 100 percent of the time (like any workplace) everybody seems to get along, support each other, and really want to see their competition do well. The quality of the dancing is much better, the dances longer and more reminiscent of the actual dance styles (as you no doubt have seen from watching them on TH-cam). Every aspect of it is better than what Dancing With The Stars is now in my opinion.
It's my favorite show on television, hands-down. I've gotten laughed at for saying that, and I know it's a 'reality show', but when it comes on in the fall for a few hours every weekend until December I forget how heavy and ugly this world can be and watch these master performers work their art, and watch folks start out new and uncertain and grow every week, celebrating every moment of growth, every moment of healing and vulnerability to a point where they're getting 10's and smashing it; it's just magical. It warms my heart and makes me cry happy tears. I hope the show is on forever.
The difference with Danny and other celebs over the years is that he is the only one who excelled in all dances where others have had great routines but not all.
The singing was as stunning as the dancing. I don't think the singers on this show get enough credit.

I don't love it as much as I love their Samba, but then again, NOTHING will ever be as hot as that Samba! Great job, my dear #TeamDoti! Wish with all my heart I could vote to do my part to get you guys into the finals and lifting that Glitterball.
Lol! That seems to be the case. Fortunately, the only new dance they'll be doing in the finals is the Showdance, and I know Oti is gonna rock the choreography in that one. I've been looking forward to that since week 1.
Tracey-Ann Wisdom I agree , great dance but not as good as that Samba. I think Oti wanted to concentrate on the intricate steps and feel of the salsa and leave that "Samba" , for what is it. In my opinion one of the most memorable dances in strictly history. Which, we will no doubt see in the final again.
Sandra Poku I think it'll take Oti & another sensational partner to top that Samba in another season. Just know they're gonna give her a clunker next series. It might be a while before she gets another partner of Danny's calibre. I'm hoping they reprise the Samba for the finale.
Anthony wasn't bad. He was hampered by the fact that one of his arms was injured - I think he'd just done surgery. He had great potential.
She couldn't have improved THAT much in one year. Lol! Her work was always good. It just shows better on Danny cuz he's got such amazing natural facility, and knowing that, she's able to take more chances.
What a stunning dance! Why on EARTH didn't they get the GB? He's got the right balance of lead and support, they both collaborate superbly, and they are 100% in tune. Dang! Wish I could dance that well 😀
Is this a case of expecting too much from Danny after that perfect Samba? Yes, I think it is. I am a little underwhelmed. It's not that the routine is without merit, but I would like to see more hip rotation. The armography was fast and furious, but Salsa is NOT meant to be ONLY about fast and furious. 9

Sarah Fisher the voting system online was playing up and so were the phones when I tried to vote for Danny. Wonder if the Clifton phone lines were working...I was tempted to try but I wasn't prepared to potentially vote for Louise or Ore😂😂

I stopped watching live after the 2017 final so that I could fast forward past Craig and Darcey's commentary. Giving it another try this year now Oti has been paired with Kelvin - fingers crossed 😁

I've watched a few of their dancing videos so far and honestly these two look like they are having so much fun dancing.
I liked this, it was a much more self-assured and contained performance than the samba, which I did enjoy. This guy is so capable. I would challenge some professionals to do a double turn and a drop on-time.

Even now, four years on, I cannot watch Ore Oduba when he's on TV. I never liked Joanne Clifton anyway. Oti and Danny were clear winners but it was obvious the powers that be wanted Ore to win. He was not a patch on Danny and was out danced every week.

Go to 01:08 and put the speed to the slowest speed. You'll realise how in time that lift was ... it could have gone wrong so easily. Danny and Oti truly were the best

Yes!! Yes, yes, yeah!!! Finally I've found a Strictly salsa performance using actual salsa music and doing a lot of actual salsa :D The steps and turns from most of the first half you can find real salseros dancing in a club any night of the week. Awesome.
Danny is so good but I feel like perhaps Kelvin might end up being the better dancer with Oti. Just feel that Kelvin feels music through his body even better than Danny does. Plus I think Kelvin’s body is perfectly proportioned for all the dances, whereas being relatively short with short arms sometimes ruined some of Danny’s lines and extensions. Oti very lucky to have two great dancers so far on the show - she’s so talented so it’s exciting she has someone amazing like kelvin to show off her talent this year
