Why can't the landlord be charged with theft? This makes no sense. Had Mr. Daniels not been paying rent and been squatting, he would have had more rights.

Landlord/Tenant relations usually fall under civil law because it's basically a contract dispute. Unless and until the landlord disobeys a court order, for example, to let his tenant back into the property or the tenant ignores an order to vacate, it will remain a civil matter. If a court order is ignored then the landlord can be held in civil contempt (typically fines until he complies) or criminal contempt (jail for refusing to comply). Squatter laws are criminal laws created as a reaction to the abuse of civil laws.
It’s not landlords/tenant bc he WAS a homeowner who didn’t pay his mortgage for years. He wants to blame everyone else for not paying his mortgage. He’s a nightmare former homeowner, cannot imagine him as a tenant!!

Mr Daniel's Landlord locks him out of his room, he needs medication in the room, landlord doesn't show up for hearing and they push it out for another week. That is simply ridiculous. Always thought that judgement was issued in favor of person who shows up, not favor the party that DOES NOT SHOW. If there is no current eviction order, how can landlord lock him out?
The landlord didn’t show up because the guy took the $400 cash. There’s actually another court here in case on TH-cam that shows him in court and the judge found out he lied about everything.

I almost didn't watch the foreclosure case, but it was...whew! The judge was so patient with the defendant. Foreclosure can be so heart-wrenching, especially with multiple things happening back-to-back. I also see why the wife left. He had a reason for everything.

It's not that easy to get meds from the ER. They might write a 3 day scrip if you can convince them you take them but, again, he has zero money to fill them and as a disabled person who is older, our insurance does not care about the individual. Just saying the truth. The government doesn't care. They listen, tell you they are sorry and send you back outside before going home to their family, their food, clothes, meds, bathrooms, bedrooms and safety and many have forgotten that you exist before they pull up at home and park. So many say it isn't their problem.....blah blah blah.... until it is and they find themselves in a hardship and lawd don't they scream of the injustice then!

Applying for Disability but working 😂😂😂😂😂I had 3 spinal fusions have sever diabetic neuropathy in my feet can't walk 10 feet without stopping in pain and can't get Disability. I'm 53 worked all my life 6-7 days a week up until last year

It’s an awful process to go through. I had 3,500 pages of records confirming that I had both mental and physical health issues. They still denied it. I hate that they make it super hard. I hope you get it to go through soon! Definitely get a lawyer!
I have had peripheral neuropathy started at 38, I’m 64, doctors sent me to SF University for someone many tests to see why I had i5 & so young, but all negative, I worked my engineering job until I I lost my balance & started getting the pain at 49, my neuro, reg, pain docs had all my paperwork ready for me to file disability, I filed & was turned down, reapplied, they put me through dexterity tests, neuro tests, then sent forms too all my doctors, so I made an appointment in front of the board, wrote my letter, went in with my walker & explained my fingers/feet numb, pain, I cannot do my job, I was awarded disability. Took 2.5 yrs, but got back pay. If I hired a lawyer, they take 35% of it. The SS board told me I had all together, they would rather talk to the patient themselves. You really should reapply, get doctors forms, tests results, etc, the SS turns down 98% of all first applications.
It’s really sad!!! I pray you get your disability!!! It makes me so mad that the folks that really need it can’t but some complain about a finger being in pain and they get everything.

It makes no sense why the police can’t make the landlord give the tenant the keys.. considering he’s up to date on rent and he’s the renter, you would think he would be the one who has possession of the property? Having said that, I don’t know that states policies on landlord/tenant situations. It just doesn’t make sense as to why there wouldn’t be some type of legislation for tenants rights allowing the tenant to enter the home that they are renting. The landlord should absolutely be ashamed of himself. I hope he found somewhere to stay if law enforcement wasn’t able to help. I pray he’s able to get his medication and if everything he says is absolutely the truth, I hope he’s compensated for all of the turmoil the landlord put him through. Maybe he will even get enough to find somewhere else to live.

maybe we can... ill reach out and see if there is a way to maybe donate money for him to get a hotel room and food or anything else he needs. ill call the court first thing in the morning, if i find out anything.. ill pin a comment here and make a community post.

I hope the judge will condemn the landlord to pay mr Daniels a considerable amount as compensation for his inconveniences. The minimum for illegal lock down is 200$ a day. There is no maximum. In a lawsuit, mr Daniels could claim a large prejudice and punitive restitution, considering his state of health and lack of support. It would enhance his case if he was doing a visit to the hospital and receive a diagnostic about the consequences of medication deprivation.
I really hope to see the next hearing in that matter.
