Maybe part of the problem with ppl using the saw motion is that everyone talks about flossing BETWEEN your teeth, when you just explained that you need to floss AROUND your teeth.
Thanks, Whitney! You are literally transforming smiles, saving us hundreds if not thousands of dollars and you are entertaining! Thank you for all of the amazing advice!
I refused X-rays for almost 2 years and ended up having a big cavity and had to have a crown I never knew I had an issue until I did the X-rays I won’t do that again !
Thank you for this excellent info. I’d love your opinion on this question: I recently started chewing on one sleep gummy in bed after I’ve already brushed my teeth. The sweeteners are Maltitol, xylitol, erythritol and topical fiber. Since the residue of these ingredients are in my month all night, can they cause cavities
3:20 thanks Dr.whitney I wrote a comment yesterday about my filling that i ruined my real tooth LoL,when I have a doctor like you I would be less worried from now on..
aw! oh no! I hope your tooth is okay. and thank you for your kindness :) I'm a dental hygienist, though :) working on my doctorate so in 2027 you can call me doctor ;) it's definitely important to see dental providers that you trust! and you will! sending positive vibes!
I don't understand why I keep getting cavities and root canals I brush and floss and go to the dentist regularly. But I can go for a checkup and cleaning and then by the next checkup I might have an abscess or need a crown. I don't understand. Baby I'm just more susceptible but still I really think I have good hygiene. Since I'm writing, do you happen to have any suggestions for flavored water besides seltzer water that is safe for the teeth? Thank you!
Hey Whitney, I have the problem that I have a really high cavity risk. Can you please help me figure out how to stop getting cavities? I brush twice a day. water floss, mouthwash, and interdental brush because I have braces and every time I go to the dentist I get worried about having cavities, I’m so over conscious about my teeth because I love my teeth
to an extent, yes. but I still recommend trying a floss pick/water floss combo to make sure the string is cleaning the contact area where the two teeth touch. hope this helps: th-cam.com/video/yaZtNAVZ1Ao/w-d-xo.html
Like I said in the video, a water flosser does not replace traditional string floss, and also like I said in the video -- talk with your dental provider about what works best for you. There are flossing alternative options for certain patients and specific scenarios. There is no misinformation being spread on this channel. We provide evidence-based, science backed information in all content. Hope this helps!
I brush before bed at like 7 pm so I won’t eat afterwords lol. And I love floss picks and I do water flossing too.

Great tips, as always. Really appreciate you and your channel!

Everyone should have Xylitol in their routine. Any thoughts on this? Regular toothpaste is not helpful. Xylitol prevents tooth decay
here's my xylitol vs fluoride video -- hope this helps: th-cam.com/video/_q_mutp0jGM/w-d-xo.html
@@TeethTalk How can you recommend Fluoride? Its a neurotoxin!
@@TeethTalk Can it not be complimentary as opposed to versus? 😄
@@TeethTalk I am very disappointed with doctors. They should teach prevention rather than lie to us about Fluoride.

Again, you’re spreading misinformation. A water pick does NOT replace flossing. Do your research or don’t post videos at all
She said to talk to your own dental health provider about what’s right for you.
