You can put cake in their inventory when they get to 1.7% maturation. They get 500 food increase per bite as the adults. On increased rate times you can raise them easier. You will need to put lots of cake on a Maewing as each piece spoils in 4 hours. I just place it on them themselves saves lots from spoiling. They don't eat until their food drops so putting a few hundred in the Maewing should last them a bit. When raising for stat mutation breeders want to focus on food increase. The higher food the longer they can go without feeding. My tamed Achatina can go a few weeks without needing to eat. Their food drops very slow as an adult.
I put about 50 veggie cakes on my maewing and while I was online (on official server) they would eat cakes but then after logging out for awhile I came back to dead achatina's and the the tribe log says they starved. Anyone know why?
Similar situation happened to me. I transferred to another server while they were in the maewing. Came back and they were dead but food was still in maewing. I think you have to stay within render.
Same thing happened to me, they are bugged when you log out or go out of render they stop eating. On my third try now....and I have to watch them and force feed them cakes because I went out of render.
I’ve seen video claiming they’re viable soakers but never tried. Tame the high lvl ones from SE then breeding is probably the best way to start your line. Let me know how you get on & how many veggie cakes it costs 🥵

Not sure if they have fixed the mating yet. But you can emcumber them to prevent them from mating while on wandering

You also can put the cake in the inventory when it produced cement the first time on wandering. It worked for me.
