I surprised now. I am a Japanese angler, When I was a kid, I used to fish for lot of bass in pond next to my house, and I discovered used something exactly like this on my own. Of course there was no internet back then. Fish told me.Bass is Bass. How wonderful.
This is one of my old-school jams. I started rigging this way in the early 90s, to fish deeper and get more action from a Rayle's rig. There were no heads designed for this rig at that point, so I'd custom trim and shape my jigheads w cutters and pliers: a "Slider fishing" trick. We called it "jig wacky" for a long time, so it's jig wacky to me. A very potent finesse rig under the right conditions.
Japanese inch wacky. Jackall, Zappu and Owner make specific jig heads for this rig. They are also available in light weights so you don't need to file your jig heads.
A mojo rig with a centipede is also deadly. 1/0 thin wire hook, 1/8 oz mojo cylinder weight, rubber peg in weight so you can adjust leader length. Secret spring bait!
I’m gonna have to try that… I love a peed on a C rig. Swampers has a bait called a Ringo that’s the best mojo bait I’ve ever tried. Come about July and August when the ledges here have been beat to hell, it is about the only thing I can still get but on. Drop shots, shakey heads, hell about every finess rig stops getting bit. Except for that mojo rig.
I have been using this exact rig for last few years with good success. I did not know it has a name. I started using it because I had quite a few centipedes and I thought it would work on a weighted wacky. Try it with owner ultrahead wacky head. it is better and cheaper.
I like the flick shake. I've never used that plastic tho. I bet the flat sides adds resistance to the weight pulling it down, making it flutter more. That's the theory I'm going woth at least.
i was curious as to what you thought about those types of hooks because those are sold as wacky rig hooks but i never was sure if there was supposed to be weight on them for the technique when using most types of stick baits i felt like it was too much for wacky rigging specifically
I prefer to fish it the way you showed in your older video with a bullet weight pegged a foot or so above the bait. That way I can keep the bait up and away from all the gunk on the bottoms of the ponds I fish. Sort of like a finesse Carolina rig.
This time of year the MMZ live worm. I think it’s 13” and 18” or maybe 16” but it’s not long spread out it crawls and curls up like real worm they have 3 colors I think but all 3 work extremely well and from gin to chocolate milk to black coffee and everywhere in between because we have used them in it and they are the ONLY THING I WILL THROW IN SUMMER WHEN IT RAINS AND EVERYTHING STARTS TO FLOOD INTO THE MANICURED LAWNS THE FIRST 6” up I throw it up on the grass and drag it into the water. How had big 5-6 lb bass come up like a whale or shark after a seal on the beach. To get this worm 🪱 they get nosed up and eat every one the see. And I will put that up against anything and anyone anywhere in the country with the conditions I’m talking about.
I recently moved from California to Tennessee, the Bible belt, there is a Baptist church on every corner, they say teach a man to fish he can feed himself for life, thats not true anymore, the Bible didn't talk about FFS, families will now starve if they don't have FFS!

The zoom centipede cotton candy colored was my go-to last year

6th sense sells a bait like this they call a fry and the plastic floats so I use them for shaky heads they work great

The Neuse-Trent Rivers are my home waters. The barnacles on the piers will cut even the heaviest braid. I feel your pain. Love your podcast.
You have a great informative channel!
Do you ever fish a zoom fluke in the Spring?
A zoom fluke is deadly after spawn.

I was given a bunch of these worms a while back. I've been using them as jig trailers
Great info !

That is my confidence lure!!!

What size line do you recommend with that peed???

Looks real good
Hook thru the wide side or the narrow?
Great tips!! I support the ban of forward facing sonar ✊

Can't say ive ever tried the centipede...it's been around forever, mostly remember it being a popular carolina rig lure....may give it a try
Couldn't you just use a small hook with a split shot close to the hook eye?
Good grief, not another worm rig.
with all these "deadliest" techniques,,wat shall a fisherman do?!!😂
Dude guess u were not taught if u have nothing good to say just stop 🛑
@@SpookyRedz lol👍😄
you mean what a fish will do?
Will you sell me one of your extra whipsnake rod?
I hope you NEVER try Filing a lead head. Lead dust is Poisonous ☠️💀.
If the head is made of Tungsten.........😂😂
Good Luck with that 😁🤔🙄
lmao. so I shouldn't be using my belt sander?
Imagine this. The hypocrite that makes fun of anglers throwing a weenie worm with a fairy stick does the same thing LMAO.
So it’s a whacky rig. There was no need to make this video.
There’s always a bunch trolls that think they’ve done everything and seen everything. Armchair anglers I called them.
Okay, user.
