The cost of sending weapons to the US is practically nothing. Most of the money Comgress approves stays in the US. The weapons we send with few exceptions like Patriot are obsolete, sitting in warehouses waiting to be decommissioned. ATACMS are obsolete. The replacement models began production in January. In a war of the te Ukraine is fighting these are weapons we'd never use. A 40 mile long column of tanks and artillery is ten minutes work for a couple of squadrons if F15s deploying CBU105s. Each one destroys 40 heavy weapons and an F 15 can carry 12 or 16 of the. Each of the bomblets uses AI to find a target. If it doesn't hit anything it self disarms. The only cash we send is to run the government and everything we send is audited. The new weapons we buy for ourselves would be bought anyway.

This channel is a top tier comedy. I've seen videos like this one every late autumn/start of the winter and it's the same story every time. These people are clueless or just refusing to acknowlege that this is a normal financial cycle at the end of the year and it's been like this for a very long time.

Here’s a question that leans on an American figure of speech, which is being a Monday morning quarterback. If, say, we had an American president with enough guts who put 20,000 US troops into Ukraine say in late 2021 or early 2022, would such a move have been enough to ward Putin off from attacking Ukraine in Feb. ‘22?

Is there an option for the US and Britain, as signatories to the Budapest Memorandum, which guaranteed the protection of Ukraine in return for Ukraine relinquishing its nuclear arsenal, to help restore the Ukraine nuclear arsenal? If the nuclear option is only ever to be used by any nation as a last resort in defense of its territory, than surely Ukraine would be justified in using that option in self defense against a brutal nuclear armed invader, which is systematically destroying the whole country???

very little of the America tax dollar goes to support Ukraine...very little of the Military budget goes to supporting Ukraine...the idea that the war in Ukraine is costing the average financially is Republican propaganda. Europe in general has actually contributed more financially than the US...but clearly American support is essential.

@ Sorry. I didn’t know the American taxpayers were not paying the billions of dollars. My mistake. If you think W. Europe is carrying their fair share then we agree to disagree. As far as Republicans propaganda, I suppose you think this administration did a great job in Afghanistan and Ukraine. BTW, that evil Republican Obama was in office when Russia took Crimea. He did nothing. Nice try tho.

Just think if the West had been more active in this war way back when Putin took over the Crimea. If the West had strengthened the Ukraine's "hand" and given it the tools to stabilize and strengthen its border with Russia, then perhaps we wouldn't be having to consider any scenario where Russia destabilizes the Ukraine to the point of taking over the country and thereby increasing all of that military industrial complex sector that both countries presently have. The two combined bring to mind some very frightening possibilities.

I think Obama gave too much credit to leaders like Putin being reasonable and intellectual in their approach to issues - he thought he could maybe ‘disarm ‘ them via respect and intellect. He should have been made more aware of how Russian leaders think and act. No soft approach was going to work.

It's part wishful thinking part reasonable foresight.
Russias economy IS absolutely in free Fall by any metric the global capitalist use, that isn't reported by Russia.
The other metrics, Like GDP(PPP) that is based on information from the Russian government publications, Russia is the fourth biggest economy in the world and growing.
It's difficult to say, but it seems unlikely that Russia Economy can experience meaningful growth in the face of sanctions by its biggest trade partner. While loosing infrastructure related to its biggest export material as well.
