This fix + Always On display (Always show) is the best solution. The removal of the parts is only necessary if your phone is in a situation where you can't see the icons to operate. If you can see, even barely, you don't need to remove anything. Always On display fix the problem and Oled Saver helps to attenuate the green.

So my galaxy note 9(2 years old) has gotten to the point where, if the phone screen if turned off(while always on display is active), and I get a call or plug it in to charge, I can't view anything at all. The only why I can get the phone to "wake up" properly is to double tap the screen, then either press the power button and enter my pass code or use the touch sensor

Try to use in sunlight and turn up brightness meter to full
And then manually change brightness slider from 100 to 10
    And keep repeating

Actually is the sensor problem. Switch off the adaptive brightness. But how to do that with green yellow screen right. Cover the camera and sensor. Then only turn on the phone. With the screen turn on and resposive temporary. Set the brightness to minimum then switch off adaptive brighness. Then only download the OLED software.

My Note 10 suddenly developed that same green tint issue, but in my case the screen was responsive. I really think it's a heat issue as I noticed it would happen when locking/unlocking the phone after having the screen on for a while, getting it warm. It's still under warranty so I sent it to Samsung and they apparently replaced the screen and the NFC antenna/component according to a service rep I spoke with (I still don't have the phone since it is currently being shipped back to me). Looks like one of the components removed in this video.

I just enable AOD and set it to touch to show. You just need to touch the screen first before unlocking your device mine uses fingerprint to unlock. Same thing for those who use smart lock, you might need to cover the upper part of your screen where the sensors and cameras are located before tapping the screen and unlocking the phone.

I've had this screen issue with my phone for months, and i'm not sure if i'm angry or relieved that all i have to do is tap the screen twice before opening it!! It worked 25 times in a row, and the first time i tried to open it without the double tap, i had lines. I was able to open mine with the power button after the double tap without issue. Thank you for sharing in the comments, as the app in this video isn't available anymore, and I was hoping i could find another option.
Edit: Double tapping the lock screen brings up my clock. After thinking about it, I went into my settings, and set my lock screen to always be on, instead of tapping it to unlock. I no longer have a dimmed, discolored screen with lines across it when i open the phone.
I have tested it many times, and if i open my main screen while my clock is displayed, it's had no issues so far. However, If i re-open the main screen quickly after closing it, and before the lock screen (clock) display comes on, the screen will goes back to being discolored and dimmed with lines. Thought i would share my experience just in case it can help anyone else. This was on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
