    Thank you so much for your videos, Miss Lori. Some of us don’t have fancy gadgets, exotic ingredients and heavy mixers, etc. so I enjoy your videos where I can try the recipes. Thank you Mr. Brown for being a kind Christian man, some of us don’t have one of those kind of husbands either. I have been married for over 36 years and watching you both is a blessing to know that there is love and kindness in life. Thank you, bless you and yours.

    I'm not sure why but this has me in tears. Maybe just a needed release. Death in the family this past week. So much pressure building up from all sides and so much suffering all around us. The calming music and your soothing voice - just rolling out cracker dough and reminding us how simple it really can be. The two of you are such a blessing. Praying for us all. Much love.

    My mom taught me how to make bread, noodles, pie, cakes all from scratch. Sadly, I didn't have much interest in cooking but I think I do pretty good now. My pantry is full, my freezer is full and during the recent snow storms, I never had to worry about having to go out or what I was going to eat. People from church were calling me to see if I needed anything. It felt good to say "Thanks, I'm good." I can't wait to try the crackers. I hate spending money on something I can make myself.

    Yes, Ms. Lori, we can be "DIY" people! We need to just do it and if it fails, deal with it and start again. I will confess that I'm not the greatest bread maker...we make croutons out of the failures, lol, so all is not lost. Never give up friends because we can "DIY"!

      LOL!!! I hear you... I make bread crumbs. For whatever reason, I never have to buy those in the store. 🤔Doesn't stop me from baking our own bread though. I just love to try new/different recipes, even if I do have the trusty one that I bake every week. I love to watch Ms. Lori and other homestead DIY self sustainable TH-cam creators out there. Even if my pantry is full out where I live and is ready if all the "kids" need to come home to be safe... There is always something new we can learn and it's also good/reassuring/comforting to know that, we're not alone in how we choose to live our lives and believe.

    Last night I had difficulty getting to sleep and realized how hungry I was! I was so thankful to have saltine crackers and a little glass of milk. My thought was what if I couldn’t get crackers next time at the store! I am so excited to see this! It is perfect timing. I can’t wait to try this! Could I use salted butter and just not add the salt in the recipe or wouldn’t it be precise?

    I love the crackers when they are brown🥰. The homemade crackers are awesome! I had some crackers go stale and just put them in the oven a few minutes and they got crispy again and were very good! As my Grandmother always said, “ Waste not, want not”. Thank you for the words of encouragement and just for being there, we love y’all 🙂

    Oh, I could make a real fool of myself with these, they look amazing. Have you ever combined flours for these? I'd love to try these with some wheat flour. (so I don't feel so bad when I eat the whole pan..haha)

    I've been making bread this week, and flash freezing steak fries for the freezer. Wanted to use up some of the potatoes I had. I love being in the kitchen, and I love playing in the dough. Thank you for the video.
    Keeping the flour, cornmeal, sugar, rice, beans, butter, and all that good stuff.
    Prayers for the world right now...God Bless you, Mr. Brown, and everyone here.

    Even though I have never met you it seems like you and Mr. Brown are one of the most wonderful people to ever know usually like a friend that you’ve known for millions of years even though we just have never met I think you do a wonderful job on the food that you show people how to survive and live with very little and be able to make things work you guys show people how to grow their own foods and how to just be a comfort even when things in the world are in such a mess I think that you’re a true blessing and one day God will bless you for the way that you have been a teacher and showing people how the right way is to be able to survive in this world. Keep up the good work and we will see you soon in your next video.

    What timing! I just decided that the only way to get saltine crackers is to make them myself. I am happy that you picked now to publish this recipe. Your suggestion to use a pasta machine to roll them out is very interesting. I’ll have to try making these tonight! Thanks for the video.

    • @mygarden365
      @mygarden365 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One thing you could do if you do not have a pasta machine - get two dowels in the thickness that you want and put them to the side of your dough as you roll it out ~ making sure that the dowels are under your rolling pin. This will ensure an even thickness when rolling them out. This method could be used with rolling out cookies and such. : D

    Either I read your mind, or you read mine. I *love* soda crackers, and they're very expensive here. Did another recipe a few days ago (it used yeast), and they came out more like little soda cakes. Still taste good, but definitely not what I wanted. I'll be trying your recipe today. Thank you, Miss Lori! 💚
