I married in 1984 and learned to cook from two bellsouth cookbooks I got for my wedding. I literally wore the cover off one and they were splattered with all sorts of stains. lol

I really enjoyed this video. I feel like a good friend just sat down for a visit. My mom has a ton of those old recipe pamphlets. I’m blessed that I have them now, such a treasure. I’d love for you to make some recipes out of these old recipe books. I live in Leicester North Carolina, just 10 minutes away from Asheville. We were hit so hard with hurricane Helene. So many lost everything they had including family members and pets. Thank you to everyone that has helped the suffering and praying for them. God bless all of you, please know you are appreciated. God bless you and Mr. Brown. ❤
I don't remember these pamphlets and I should! Do you remember when you could get a TOWEL or a GLASS inside powdered washing machine soap, like Tide?? As a child that fascinated me. I definitely think you should frame that beautiful Fleischmann book 😊 I love these old recipes! I really enjoyed this video. God bless 🙌

First off, I want to tell you that you are a gift to us, Ms Lori! Your sweet spirit is such a comfort. I was dead dog tired earlier, so I sat down and watched this video, and I feel so much better. I'm thankful that the Spirit of our Lord is able to touch us, through you. As for that lovely Fleishmann cookbook, I vote yes to framing it. It's over 100 years old and so beautiful. May God bless you and your family. Love to you all!

Most of the time it was more to just look through them to get ideas.i don’t think I ever really cooked anything out of one, but rather looked at the picture and came up with my own. I started doing the same when my oldest 2 nieces were little.

I called Jiffy about two years ago and they were still using genetically modified corn. Miss Lori can you come up with a recipe that mimics Jiffy only with home milled corn?
Thanks! Just love this session. I have 3 versions of my Mom's copies of 'The Joy of Cooking'. I baked my first cake at age 11 with my 2 younger sisters while Mom was having a cancer treatment. She came home to a fresh baked cake with real butter-cream icing. Thanks for the memories!
Love watching you ... I miss my Mom and Dad so much... and you talk to me like they did. Thank You. We had hard times too ... but they never left on to us kids. We had a good life... They were Wonderful... Thanks for making me remember...❤ SS
My mom used to cut bread in cubes and fry with the chopped boiled leftover potatoes in bacon drippings...this stretched the few left over potatoes. This was a family favorite. Thanks for bringing back this memory. Yes I would definitely frame it, it is a beautiful picture. Y'all have a Blessed day.
My vote is yes, definitely frame worthy. I also love the little recipe books put out by the various women’s groups, PTOs and townships around. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I sure do remember those little pamphlets! And your description of a shopping trip was spot on, mirroring my own life when the kids were so small! But, believe it or not, I miss those days. It seems my life was so much calmer, even with the little running around. ❣️❣️💖👍🏼 Thanks so much for stirring the pot of memorie#! 😊
Jiffy Baking Company can still get recipe book free from their website. Can get hard copy of book mailed to home address. I'm a cookbook collector. I enjoyed this wonderful time spent watching this video. So much history and memories from vintage cookbooks indeed. Thank you so very much for sharing your time showing us your collection of vintage cookbook booklets. I remember the companies having cookbook booklets with their products when you purchased them. My mother handed down some of those type of cookbook booklets to me. I treasure them so much. I am 62 and Mom is still living in her late 80's. I never remember my grandma having a cookbook. But she sure had some wonderful, tasty meals she would make from scratch. I always loved her homemade dressing. She would make it with light bread and eggs and broth with some onion and sage. Love from Ky.
This video was truly delightful. It was such a heartwarming walk down memory lane. You are right Ms. Lori we take care of our families the best we can with the money we have. God bless. 💖🙏🏻💖
I miss those days of those little cookbooks at the grocery store! I learned a lot of my cooking skills from those! You brought me some wonderful memories today while watching this, thank you so much for sharing 😊
Good afternoon I had a great aunt who collected recipes from all kinds of places She had them in a ole box When she passed I got that box I make something out of it every once in awhile
WOW!!! I would Love for you to make something from your JIFFY COOKBOOK. I Think that would be awesome to frame that picture of that lady on the front page of your little cookbook. It’s SO VINTAGE and reminds me of yester year. I am an old soul. I am from the 60’s era. My father raised my sister and I, and i remember he had One cookbook that i would thumb through it all the time. I started cooking at a very young age. I really enjoyed it. I don’t remember what happened to that cookbook and it really bugs me that I didn’t keep up with it. I was going into the 5th grade when I found a Meatloaf recipe in there and made a whole meal. It was a Saturday afternoon and my dad was napping when i decided to make supper on my own. I was thankful for that cookbook. My meatloaf came out perfect 👌🏼 He woke up and looked around asking me who cooked supper and i told him I had cooked it. He was quite surprised
Oh Miss Lori. Thank you for a trip down memory lane. I remember most of these cook books from my grandmothers kitchen. Sometimes she would pull them out and say “help me find something good to make for dinner tonight”. I must admit it’s brought a tear to my eye. I would like to get my hands on that Potluck Favorites. I look forward every week to your cooking with cook books. Take care and God bless.
Your story does bring back good memories I had six small children and very little money. To get little gas money with pennies become a habit. But the kids grew up happy as you say it was all good. God bless and keep you and yours 😊
Thank you for this video. It’s amazing how many of our memories are tied to food and its preparation. I have around 100 cookbooks and many many recipe booklets. I can’t bear to part with them because they are so tied to a sweet memory. I love sitting and going through them just like you did in this video. It makes my heart happy. Thank you again.
❤my Italian grandma always made her tater salad with green beans, red onion, fresh parsley and basil and a vinaigrette dressing. She served it room temp. It was delicious! You could put bacon in it too.
There was 7 of us kids in my family. Daddy was a carpenter so money was always sparse. I remember picking up pecans and selling them so mama would have money to buy us Christmas. I also remember S&H green stamps. Mama would collect them and then us kids would have a night to lick and stick them in the booklets. We ate plain but we were a happy crew. Shucking corn and shelling peas was a regular thing in the summer. I had a very happy and secure childhood.
Family living is a definite one to try on video. I have many of the booklets from the 40's. Some of the product brands are no longer on the market. Mono sodium glutimate is msg...something many people cannot tolerate. It's not used in everyday cooking, except in many Asian foods. Please keep doing these older pamphlet visits, it's fun to reminisce. Thank you Miss Lori. God bless 😊
It is in most canned goods and broths at the markets, in most snack foods and in most fast food too. The ban on it was lifted. They even sell it in stores again. Terrible stuff.
Oh, I so agree! We’re celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary today, and I was saying to my husband that I wish we could go back to when the children were small and we didn’t have much……..and do it all again! Such sweet memories!!
YES MA’AM …………. I TOO HAVE A GRAND COLLECTION OF THE “BOOKLETS “ OF LONG AGO. HOW I DEARLY LOVE THEM ….as well. THANKS MISS LORI……. FOR ALWAYS SHARING!!
I actually love the way The House Wife in those Cook Books Dress It's Really Different Back then Really Really different The Jiffy Cookbook I have never seen one But wow who knew you could make that much stuff with Jiffy Corn Bread I Really Love The Old Cook Books Series And You Sitting and doing a Show a Tale on them They really are 😮Works of Art ❤U Miss Lori& Mr Brown God Bless You & Your Family Always Amen 🙏😊
I remember those days outside and playing in the creek and hiking all over the places.I was blessed with a loving and happy family. Yes please do make some of those old recipes. Thank you for all you kindness and loving thoughts. God Bless your family🥰
My mom and I went together to the Edison Company free cooking classes and they would give us a little pamphlet of the recipes. I collected them and bound them all together and some sixty years later I flip thru it and remember cooking with my momma. 🥰 I love old cookbooks. My mom had a good housekeeping cookbook from the year I was born.
I have my granny's vintage cookbooks as well as several vintage ones I've bought from ebay. For some reason, it brings me comfort to browse through them.
I grew up during 1950s. My Mom was always trying some new"convenience" recipe like Jello salads, no bake cheesecake and fudge using marshmallows, condensed milk at holidays. We had a big family so I think it was time/money saver! I'm almost 70 and I wish I knew her better. She never complained. She had The Metropolitan Insurance booklet. I always loved the colorful cover art and cartoon drawings!❤
Yes, please frame that little cookbook. That was my first thought when I saw it. I have never heard of the other Jiffy Mix cookbooks. I would love to see you make something out of those little cookbooks. 😍
Mrs. Lori, thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I collect cookbooks and loved seeing these old classics. Some of my favorite cookbooks are the local books from churches, organizations and schools. I always enjoying sitting down and reading the recipes, knowing that these home cooks were sharing some of their best recipes. I’d love to see a video on how you organize all of your recipes/cookbooks!
Since I was married in 1986, my Momma and I exchanged cookbooks. I have a nice collection! My grandmother also gave me several of the little pamphlet cookbooks. Thanks for the memories!!!
For several years as a young married lady, the only cookbook I owned was a paperback Better Homes and Gardens. Later I got the spriral bound and it got me through for many years before I started picking up one here and there. Our little town was also putting out church cookbooks left and right through the 80's and 90's too, so I had a good little collection of those. As the years went by I started checking out used bookstores and thrift stores...now there's Amazon and I'm swamped!
I got married young and couldn't cook a lick...(my mother was not a cook and she died when I was 13). We started out eating boxed or frozen meals then I finally bought a Betty Crocker cookbook and taught myself how to cook. I still have that book, 42 years later! If the internet existed back in those days it certainly would have helped young wives/mothers like myself. But now i get to watch people like yourself make recipes and read the reviews and have found some great recipes without the trial and error of recipes from cookbooks. My mother in law used to always buy those pamphlets at the checkout counter. I also have bought some and need to go through them one of these days. I would love for you to make any recipes from your old cookbooks....the older the better in my opinion just so we can compare it to today's recipes that are same or similar. Way back when I first got married l would notice a lot of companies would have recipe booklets you could send off for with proof of purchase and maybe a small fee....I don't see much of that anymore. Thank you for showing us some of your booklets and I am looking forward to watching you try some recipes. And a big yes from me to frame that Fleischman booklet...it's beautiful! 😊
What an enjoyable trip back in time. I still keep boxes of Jiffy Cornbread Mix in my pantry. I grew up about 30 miles from Muncie, Indiana home of Ball Canning and Ball State University. Back in the early 80’s as a young wife I’d often drive over to buy discounted items from Ball at the Indiana Glass Outlet store. It was a warehouse full of all kinds of kitchen and household goods at deep discount prices. I’m retired now and in Florida. Not sure if it’s even still there after all these years. Mono sodium Glutamate is MSG
I have a few pamphlets with recipes in also like a Jello one, Spam, Bisquick, and a few others. They have great recipes in and people who actually cook and enjoy cooking use them. Today, sadly there are many who do not take the time to cook and feed their families. I have known young women who do not know what Crisco is or how to read a recipe. They depend on frozen meals bought in a store, take out or drive through meals, convenience foods and processed foods. I also found great delight in preparing and cooking a meal and then watch my family enjoy eating it. It blessed my heart.
I would love to learn some new recipes with Jiffy cornbread. ❤ I checked groceries for 6 years (1967 to 1973), and I loved the pamphlets at my checkout stand. Yes, to the cranberry raspberry relish, too!
I use to put $5 gas in my car at a time and added up my groceries before getting to the checkout to be sure I had enough money to pay. God has blessed me over the years! ❤
At 34 years old I have collected many random cookbooks. My parents always laughed when I was a child because I hated reading, but if we went to garage sales, I would want cook books. I didn't start cooking or baking till I was about 15, but still to this day I love finding cook books at garage sales. Even had one garage sale ask me "Do you know how to cook" Me "Well, I can follow a recipe and sometimes make it my own, whether it is good or not is still up for discussion" lol they gave me the small box of cook books for free because they were so happy someone my age was excited about cooking. I cook 97% of our meals and can a lot. Thank you for the encouragement! I love watching your videos, because it is like hanging out with grandma who encouraged me for 25 years of my life.
Mrs Lori I'm so excited to see the recipes from these cookbooks now that I have a stove after all that time! Can't wait!! Thanks so much for sharing! God bless!!
My daughter went on line to find the family cooks a good copy of my mother's first cookbook she learned several recipes. Especially her pudding to make the most marvelous cream pies like chocolate, coconut and banana, all from the base pudding recipe.
Miss Lori, I gave my daughter the cookbook I had that was dated 1899. No oven temps. It has propper manners, how to butcher all the farm animals and wonderful recipes. It was and is a treasure. Truly appreciate you sharing your older cookbooks. Bless You and Yours.
Now I have seen the fleischmann's cookbook at my grandmother's either on my mom's or my dad's side I can't remember but we weren't allowed to touch it we were not allowed to touch a lot of things but I do remember seeing that one
Love the little books. Remember seeing those in many kitchens in our family. Wish I had them now. I am 62-year-old. Love jello, when you were going in the book I thought I saw one that always was around special dinners. It had orange jello with shredded carrots and celery and some kind of mayo mix. It was always made in a mold with the mayo cup sitting in the middle. Oh the memories.
My mom used a lot of Jell-O in recipes. My favorite was Jell-O poke cake topped with whipped cream. Yummy. My favorite pamphlet cookbook is my Bisquick one.
We did grow up in the wonderful era. I’m glad my parents are not here anymore, they went thru one depression and they wouldn’t be able to handle a second one. My dad was out of work a lot and mom would make broth with chunks of potatoes to fill our bellies. Mom grew up going to bed hungry a lot. My son and I are in gratitude everyday for what we have. God bless everyone. Thank you Miss Lori.
My Granny was a Tidewater Virginia cook. Remember oyster stews at Thanksgiving. She had a cute kitchen with a tucked away pantry. Succotash pints on every shelf. Came across a Rumford Baking powder recipe card. Printed in 1933 with a US patent number 1,912,984. Looks like a salesman's sample. Have tried several of the recipes and they were good.
I love hearing the stories of you running your little homestead and raising your family. It brings back so many memories of us having to penny pinch while eating mayo and cheese sandwiches.
Oh my, Miss Lori. What a special memory. I remember the same thing about those pamphlets. And now I must admit to having more cookbooks, recipe boxes and binders of saved recipes, that I will never be able to use them all. But could never part with.
Omgosh please do the Dairy Queen ice cream! My husband would love that. lol I have the Jiffy mix pamphlet. So many memories Mrs. Lori. We are about the same age and have gone through the same things. What ever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger 😂 God Bless
When I was young, back in 1960s, my mom would make orange gelatin, pineapple and carrots and called it Golden Glow for holidays especially Thanksgiving 🦃 and Christmas 🎁
I would like to try the recipe for hushpuppies or anything you choose. I haven't seen any except jiffy corn bread mix. Thank you. I guess I'm old enough to remember platelets by the register ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏😉🐾
I should have waited because jello desserts. I remember the older ladies would bring them to pot luck. I would like to make for my family . We only use jello if someone is sick. I love the green jello made with green nuts ( sorry, I can't think of the name) bring back a lot of memories
I love the old cookbooks and pamphlet's , I collect them, at 1 of our local thrift stores I have been able to pick up several. I lost my mother in May this year, She always loved to be in the kitchen, cooking, canning, baking whatever, Funny thou I learned how to make pie crust in home ec I had to teach her how to make the pie crust that was one thing she struggled with or she just wanted me to feel good about teaching her. Thank you for sitting and chatting with us.
Oh yes Miss Lori! I can remember going to my granny’s house and she would get these out. I remember the jiffy one. They did icing even in chocolate and white. Our little grocery store keeps the cake, pie, corn and baking mix. As a young bride in 1981 I would send for those little books, most of time they were free for buying the product or send a quarter to pay for envelope and stamp. Wish I still had them.❤❤
Enjoyed the visit today. Some recipes brought back memories. Yes, anything you cook/ bake would be great. I can't think of anything more pleasing than watching your videos. I do write down a lot of them, and put your name at the end with Whipporwill Hollar. Thank you Miss Lori, for sharing the cookbook pamplets..
My mom used to start at the back of recipe books, catalogs, and magazines. I didn't think anyone else did that. Kind of gives me a pang, but also good memories.
So neat to see. The old timey pictures bring back memories of my grandmas and when family was all together. That was neat about dipping stale bread in water or milk and baking on low, and reheating biscuits in a paper bag. I only saw jiffy pie crust and blueberry muffin mix other than cornbread. We went to Hershey Park and Chocolate World every year, was a blast & great memories! 🍫Enjoyed Ms Lori, I like stuff about the good ole days! 😊🧡🍂 Blessings!
You could have a one of the kind collage with a few of those pamphlets in a large picture frame in your kitchen. It could be passed down in your family for generations.
Oh yes love my cookbooks even though I had so many I had cut down so I donated to Manna house for others to use. Some of my favorites are cookbooks that churches put together with all the members favorite recipes. Do you have some like that? When I was a young mother those were the recipes I learned from. Enjoyed this video show us some more 😊 Have a great weekend oh yes the cold is peaking through even here in Texas! I’m ready ❤
My Mother loved her cookbooks and was an excellent cook! She developed dementia and for 5 yrs visiting with her as often as I could we would pull out her "old" Southern Living mags along with her Annual Southern Living cookbooks and read and discuss recipes. Loved the time I spent with her, seeing the passion she still had for cooking while never leaving her chair. ❤
I have a "Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book." It was given to me at my bridal shower in 1968. I have used it a lot over the years, and it is stained and dog-eared. I recently referred to it for scalloped potatoes. I have many other cookbooks but none earlier than the fifties. Love your channel and you and Mr Brown. My family and I are originally from eastern KY, but I grew up in northeastern Ohio. My husband, children, and I moved to VA in 1986. We love it.
Lori, I just love this video. I feel like you are sitting and chatting with me in my living room, please do more of these ❤, have a wonderful day and thank you, xo Jeannie
Yes I would certainly frame that book . I loved this video, a lot of memories from my childhood. Thank you for taking your time and sharing these , love to you and Me. Brown ❤
I love all your videos Miss Lori. Always love seeing Mr Brown tasting. Love the old cookbook cooking. Love you much. I would love to see some Jiffy recipes. I love Jiffy Cornbread Mix.
Watching now. I married in 1970 after graduation from highschool. I always looked at the phamplet cookbooks the different companies put by the registers. I have many of them. I also have some from food shows that came to town put on the the grocery store in our area here in Chattanooga. I loved those shows with my Mom & Granny. They would give everyone bags & you just walked around trying samples that were new in stores , collect the little cookbooks. That was a wonderful time to live in.
I still have my ball blue canning book, my Mom gave me a copy, along with the little kit of funnel, etc when I first was married and started canning! She had notes in the margins…love it so much…thank you for sharing yours today…good memories for sure! ❤

@jtharp9265 Mrs. Rosette, could we just go back to after air conditioning was invented?
@jtharp9265 lol, I didn't want to go back that far, just before cell phones. I still like the modern comforts, but not the craziness of this world.

You could get glasses in Duz detergent and back in the 50's glasses in Quaker Oats.
🌹I married in 1969. My two cookbooks were wedding gifts. One was a Fanny Farmer cookbook, the other was Betty Crocker. I still have them in 2024. 😁

God bless. 💖🙏🏻💖
Thank you so much!
I miss those days of those little cookbooks at the grocery store! I learned a lot of my cooking skills from those! You brought me some wonderful memories today while watching this, thank you so much for sharing 😊
Good afternoon
I had a great aunt who collected recipes from all kinds of places
She had them in a ole box
When she passed I got that box
I make something out of it every once in awhile
My meatloaf came out perfect 👌🏼
He woke up and looked around asking me who cooked supper and i told him I had cooked it.
Love the picture of the woman putting canned food on her shelf in the pantry!
The cran raspberry relish sounds fantastic.
When my sister-in-law passed away I got about 150 cookbooks. She had been collecting them her whole life.
Your story does bring back good memories I had six small children and very little money. To get little gas money with pennies become a habit. But the kids grew up happy as you say it was all good.
God bless and keep you and yours 😊
Make pumpkin rum cake😊
Good afternoon Mr. And Mrs. Brown ❤ thanks for bringing comfort and peace with each video. Good food too! God bless you ❤
I agree, its time to bring back the older recipes.
Me too!
God bless 😊
Oh yes msg! I don't know what I was thinking
Did they not know how bad it is
It is in most canned goods and broths at the markets, in most snack foods and in most fast food too. The ban on it was lifted. They even sell it in stores again. Terrible stuff.
The years that were hardest were the years that were the most special.
Yes
Oh, I so agree! We’re celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary today, and I was saying to my husband that I wish we could go back to when the children were small and we didn’t have much……..and do it all again! Such sweet memories!!
YES MA’AM …………. I TOO HAVE A GRAND COLLECTION OF THE “BOOKLETS “ OF LONG AGO.
HOW I DEARLY LOVE THEM ….as well. THANKS MISS LORI……. FOR ALWAYS SHARING!!
Wonderful
I love to look at old cookbooks.

❤U Miss Lori& Mr Brown God Bless You & Your Family Always Amen 🙏😊
I remember those days outside and playing in the creek and hiking all over the places.I was blessed with a loving and happy family.
Yes please do make some of those old recipes.
Thank you for all you kindness and loving thoughts.
God Bless your family🥰
My mom and I went together to the Edison Company free cooking classes and they would give us a little pamphlet of the recipes. I collected them and bound them all together and some sixty years later I flip thru it and remember cooking with my momma. 🥰 I love old cookbooks. My mom had a good housekeeping cookbook from the year I was born.
I enjoyed this video, as usual! I had many old cook books and pamphlets handed down to me. I like to read them like a books!! Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Thank you
I remember the Riceland Rice booklet. It had the best rice pudding in it.
That is so neat!
Those are great keepsakes!
It is amazing how much things have changed over the years
It is amazing how much things have changed over the years
I still pull out the old booklets and cook someone the recipes
Lime hello whipped with cottage cheese orange jello with shredded carrots
What an enjoyable trip back in time. I still keep boxes of Jiffy Cornbread Mix in my pantry. I grew up about 30 miles from Muncie, Indiana home of Ball Canning and Ball State University. Back in the early 80’s as a young wife I’d often drive over to buy discounted items from Ball at the Indiana Glass Outlet store. It was a warehouse full of all kinds of kitchen and household goods at deep discount prices. I’m retired now and in Florida. Not sure if it’s even still there after all these years. Mono sodium Glutamate is MSG
That sounds like a fun place to shop!
It’s so important to keep those old recipes alive!
I would love to learn some new recipes with Jiffy cornbread. ❤ I checked groceries for 6 years (1967 to 1973), and I loved the pamphlets at my checkout stand. Yes, to the cranberry raspberry relish, too!
DAIRY QUEEN ICE CREAM!! YES PLEASE!
Also love jiffy mix!!
Please don’t make us wait until next summer……I love Dairy Queen year round.
My husband loves the music to your videos and I love watching and learning. Thank you for all your time
Love the cook books, a delight to look through, and wonder... Blessings to you and Mr. Brown.
Thank you so much
Good afternoon Mrs Lori. Prayers for a wonderful weekend ahead for everyone. May God bless you and your family.
Mrs Lori I'm so excited to see the recipes from these cookbooks now that I have a stove after all that time! Can't wait!! Thanks so much for sharing! God bless!!
You’re very welcome. I’m so glad you finally have a stove!
My daughter went on line to find the family cooks a good copy of my mother's first cookbook she learned several recipes. Especially her pudding to make the most marvelous cream pies like chocolate, coconut and banana, all from the base pudding recipe.
Hi Ms. Lorie and Mr. BROWN HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL. HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND. I remember Ms. Lorie. I love collecting cookbooks. LV an Prayers to all.
This is fun. I used to have a Jell O book….
Miss Lori, I gave my daughter the cookbook I had that was dated 1899. No oven temps. It has propper manners, how to butcher all the farm animals and wonderful recipes. It was and is a treasure. Truly appreciate you sharing your older cookbooks. Bless You and Yours.
What a great gift!
yes frame that lovely picture
I remember making pancakes with Jiffy cornmeal mix back in 1970. They were so good! Haven’t made them since. ❤ Memories!❤
I agree with you Ms. Lori, I love cookbooks. Especially older ones. Enjoyed the video ❤
That was fun! It was like a womens party 😁
And a walk down memory lane! Those are really good books to have. Thank you and God bless ☺️
I remember the poke cake in so many magazines in the 1980s, but unfortunately my mom never made it.😂
We did grow up in the wonderful era.
This brought tears. Big hugs, Wendy! 🫂
Thats so awesome
I love hearing the stories of you running your little homestead and raising your family. It brings back so many memories of us having to penny pinch while eating mayo and cheese sandwiches.
Those were simpler times, weren't they?
Oh my, Miss Lori. What a special memory. I remember the same thing about those pamphlets. And now I must admit to having more cookbooks, recipe boxes and binders of saved recipes, that I will never be able to use them all. But could never part with.
It’s amazing how many recipes we accumulate over the years.
Omgosh please do the Dairy Queen ice cream! My husband would love that. lol
I have the Jiffy mix pamphlet. So many memories Mrs. Lori. We are about the same age and have gone through the same things. What ever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger 😂
God Bless
Wish I still had them.❤❤
I love jello salads and desserts and love the fluff ones with coolwhip and jello or instant pudding -cool summer salads /desserts
I'm honored that you write down my recipes!
My mom used to start at the back of recipe books, catalogs, and magazines. I didn't think anyone else did that. Kind of gives me a pang, but also good memories.
You've been great company while canning. Those cookbooks are such a treasure, and it's so good that you have them. ❤
For those older ones that are at risk of falling apart you could get a 3 ring binder with the page protector sleeves and preserve the books in there
That’s a great idea!
I love that you had that time together. What a great memory.
We love it.
Thanks for sharing
Lori, I just love this video. I feel like you are sitting and chatting with me in my living room, please do more of these ❤, have a wonderful day and thank you, xo Jeannie
Yes I would certainly frame that book . I loved this video, a lot of memories from my childhood. Thank you for taking your time and sharing these , love to you and Me. Brown ❤
That makes me so happy!
Hi Lori & Danny! I love old cookbooks & new dishes! ❤😊
I still have my ball blue canning book, my Mom gave me a copy, along with the little kit of funnel, etc when I first was married and started canning! She had notes in the margins…love it so much…thank you for sharing yours today…good memories for sure! ❤
I love old cookbooks and the memories they bring!
Thanks so much. I love old cook books.
