I’ve probably been trying/wearing make up for as long as you’ve been alive and in my humble opinion you give the best description of how the make up will work and won’t work on all different folks..... thank you🤗
I'm wearing this foundation for the first time today and have normal to dry skin. At 8 hours in was when it started to look nice (and not SUPER DRY). I think I'll like this when the weather warms up.
Thank you for the in depth review and all of the closeups of your skin!! Sometimes it can be so difficult to see details like that in TH-cam reviews so I really appreciate it!
Can you do an updated drugstore powder look? I don't enjoy wearing foundation because I just feel like my face gets cakey, but I do love powder foundations.
I like Everyday Minerals, which isn't too expensive. I also like Meow Cosmetics which is more expensive, but you can get a smaller size for a reasonable price (and they have a wide range of shades). Hope that helps!
I have normal/dry/sensitive skin - love the fenty foundation. You are right - a brush is better - and I will take under advisement your recommendation of a heavier moisturiser. Used it with elf putty primer - worked well
I have normal + combo skin and I really love it. Given that I really hate full coverage foundations and that my skin is fairly clear, except from the occasional break out, I love this foundation. I definitely will wear this over my liquid foundations.
I’m dry as well. I have enjoyed using this as a finishing powder with a glowy tinted moisturizer. It’s nice because I can take it on the go for touch ups. I agree that the brush is best, but I use the sponge to cover redness on my chin. I like the longevity as well and the way it wears off.
Thank you so much for this detailed review! I have combination skin and I love it! What I anticipated also is, that it’s absolutely necessary before applying it to exfoliate thoroughly. It really emphasises dry patches. And I prefer to apply it with a brush as well, I found it difficult to apply the right amount with the sponge - it was always to much and therefore looked very powdery.
Wow! You are the first person who had some of the same results I did. I am 62 with dry normal skin and found getting coverage with this one difficult when using a brush, the Tati blendiful and the sponge it came with. I got it to work best using the Sonia Kashuck thick sponge from Target and doing extra moisturizer. Once I got it applied it looked nice. On the flip side, I Love the L’Oréal infallible powder foundation.
*Hi Shelbey, for wearing a matte powder foundation your skin looks amazing. I think I'll stick with BareMinerals as my skin is normal/balanced. Have a wonderful New Year with your family and be well. Hugs and love to you all.* 🥰💋🤘
Hey Shelbey!! Just came across your channel and you’ve quickly become one of my favourite TH-camrs. I literally binge watch your videos all day everyday now! They’re somehow very relaxing and calming to me. Keep the good work going 💗
If you would appreciate a video idea It would be extremely helpful to do an in depth analysis and comparison between all of the Neutrogena complexion products since they have a lot of similar sounding tinted moisturizers and foundations. I find it hard to figure out which one is the best out of all their options because they have such similar claims between all their tinted moisturizers or face bases.
I really am just so excited to have found someone with the same skin type, color, undertone as I am. Yay!!! I'm going to stalk your videos now. I'll be binge watching for sure.
I have dry skin in the winter. I can’t wear powder foundation this time of year. I have combination skin in the summer time. I do actually wear powder foundations in the summer when it is 90+ degrees outside. I wear either Pur 4 in 1 mineral powder pressed foundation or Bare Minerals loose powder foundation. I like the shade range of the Fenty Foundation. Thanks for the lovely review.
Great review - thanks. I can't remember if you've tried the Wander Beauty powder foundation. I heard someone say that it was the best one they'd tried. Emma x
My skin is dehydrated during the Winter. It turns combination during the warmer months. I prefer powder foundation during the summer. I do love the shade range of the Fenty. I like light coverage. It could work. I’m torn. 🤔.... Thank you for review.
Thank you Shelbey! I use to use a Shiseido years ago and really was the only one I liked. I have dry skin as well so I don’t think this will work for me.
How would you compare this foundation to the BareMinerals Ready foundation?? That was my holy grail and still haven’t found anything that I like that much! 😢
I would like to see what you think of the LORAC powder. I believe its a baked powder. It used to be a favorite of mine when i would do full coverage makeup.
@@ShelbeyWilson I usually see them stocked in Kohl’s but i wonder if Ulta carries more in stock, i haven’t really looked on Ulta.com for them but im sure they are there 😊👍

I am dry as the desert especially in the winter. I even have to change the way I apply my Retin A. Not a fan of powder foundations, have I miss d a review on one that works for us dry skin women?
Genuinely curious, what's the benefit of a powder over a liquid? I've never been drawn to the powders and never purchased one before, they just don't seem as effective. My skin is a bit on the dryer side so maybe that's why I don't reach for them
Personally for me my skin is super dehydrated and my skin literally peels like ppl on isotretoin during the winter and those and my pores get super accentuated whenever i use a liquid foundation but powder kinda smooths over the peely skin a bit better and makes my pores look better and smooths over texture better than liquid because it looks disgusting when i set my liquids with powder. However if your skin i guess it depends person to person its just based on personal preference and u do u cuz im sure ur skin is super duper diff from mine and struggle with diff things
I prefer the finish, coverage level, and blending application of a powder foundation. Kind of my-skin-but-better without the residual tackiness in lighter coverage liquids. It's also easier for me to touch up.
I have rosacea and therefore a lot of redness around my nose. I only need a lot of coverage there but not on the rest of my face and reaching that is way more easy with a powder foundation. You can easily control the amount you are applying and also differ the coverage. And many powder foundations like e.g. these from bareMinerals don’t have as many ingredients as liquid foundations. Perfect for my sensitive and allergic skin.
**Hi Shelby** you made me love the bareminerals powder foundation, I started using it this year with a moisturizer its amazing!!! but the problem is that Im getting some alergy around my mouth, do you think that the primer will work better or I should stop using my favorite foundation
Interesting. I have a brand new jar and it itches my normal skin (no oily or dry) like crazy. Many years ago I swore by it and recently returned, alas it rejects me😢. Wonder why.

Great review! What do you recommend for skin that gets oily but with dry patches??? I’ve been struggling with flaking esp around my nose and mouth and between brows (on accutane) but my skin still gets oily after a few hours (I know) so all foundation looks heavy and accentuates the flaking! Powders are just not my jam🤷🏼♀ my skin is just too dry and aging to really enjoy something like this. I do sometimes use a finishing powder after a little concealer on days I don't feel like doing a full face... And that works pretty well for me... But, I couldn't imagine spending however much on this product, just wouldn't use it enough to justify😊 I love how you review ALL products (even ones you KNOW probably won't work on your skin), you're so thorough and thoughtful, trying to think of everything we might want to know!! Whilst the review is thorough and detailed and you give a great description of how things feel and perform , the filter you have on when applying the product / the camera quality that blurs the face (if it is not a filter) does not allow the product to show on your skin for an accurate representation
1. My camera does not have any filter or blurring capabilities. 2.
