Good buyers buy your gold at a premium especially raw gold. You’d be lucky to get 5 to 10 dollars for that amount. Local gold buyers prefer larger amounts when buying raw gold because it needs to be processed. Gold isn’t like cash anyone buying your gold is most likely trying to flip a short term profit. It’s like selling to a pawn shop and it’s the reason pawn shops love buying gold.

Georgia and Wyoming are the only 2 states in the US who still pay only $7.25 an hour for minimum wage. So in Georgia, someone working minimum wage would have to work nearly 10 and a half hours to make what this guy did in 2 hours fishing for gold in a stream.

A friend of mine designed a pan that can act like a sluice box. It's small and uses handles but you can run water over it while still using it like a regular pan. It's fits the legal definition of not being a sluice box, at least. I know the patent lawyer he went through and got to sit in on some of the specifics of the design. But sure if he ended up going into production or sold his idea.

The sluice box itself is a device used by prospectors to separate gold from placer gravel by using running water. Looking through a pile of dirt with bare hands is different than using a device whose sole purpose is to separate gold.
If there were no such rules, then there would be many cases of people using the sluice box because more gold could be found, more gold could be sold, and more gold available would be less precious to own than it already is. They've got a license for everything nowadays. Some places require you to tie a fishing license to your hat so supervisors can spot it. It used to be that anybody needing food could fish or hunt, or even use vhf radio, but now they've monetized and restricted pretty much everything except gardening, although some places in the us don't even let you collect rainwater or grow a garden :/

Massive companies place boxes like that everywhere, every single river with any potential gold and they're just left there to rust and pollute the ocean then you gotta deal with stepping on sharp rusted spikes as a tourist everywhere you go, sounds lovely doesn't it... These licenses are to keep track of them all and to hold people accountable when they leave a rusty contraption behind for 10 years hoping to find a few specs when they finally check on it a decade later. Just like illegal trapping where they play a numbers game, set up hundreds of traps you barely check and who cares about the animals that inevitably get caught and starved to death before you could make your monthly rounds checking all the traps. Same with fishing regulations, just leave a hundred lines tied to the pier, one of them is bound to have a fish on it when you come back next week, probably a few dead ones you didn't get to in time but ohh well if they go extinct... 🤷♂️

I’m in the uk and it’s around £65 a gram at the highest it’s been ever. That doesn’t equate to $100-150 plus you don’t get paid the melt price. The shop your selling to needs to make profit so you’ll probably get 20% under melt if you go to the correct place (pawn shops are the worst atleast in the uk)

Make it out of concrete and visit it once a year in the stream... leave a way to block the stream's flow. Ten bucks and all you have to do is collect it and pan. Get many around town and disguse them as something else. Go out under cover of "fishing." Otherwise... someone else gets there first.

The theory use to be was that the gold deposits were coming from a larger gold piece. Folks would use this method to hunt down the the larger chunks from up the stream. Basically playing hot n cold they could narrow down the location of the source of the gold flakes
This makes me miss my dad, he was a gold miner since he was a child and he even showed me. We spent good times together mining in Zambia and my home country South Africa.

@@LTLoudpack7100 the owner of the claim most likely. If you get caught in BC, you will be subject to mega fines, restitution and never be allowed to hold a claim ever again. In BC mineral rights are owned by the crown (people of bc) so even if you a in unclaimed land it’s still against the law.
