My first lessons were at Teignmouth with my new 100-5 with Phil Hyde. He was fresh down from Clacton on Sea, building beautiful rods . He soon got me to be the first local angler to hit 200 yards . The rest was history. Thanks Phil...rip mate.
Great Video Pete, I live a 5 minute walk from Teignmouth beach , i have just converted my Penn Rampage 2 beachcaster with coasters so i can fit a multiplier low down, never really fished with a multiplier but i will be practicing on the beach, bought the Penn Mag 3 525 also , Thank You Pete great video , chris,
cheers for that, I'm new to beach fishing and just have not got any distance from long rods, I can cast further with my 7' rod than my 12' one. will see how this technique works
Very easy to do with just a lead weight and no rig and bait. If you have a clip down rig how do you stop the snood un-clipping when dragging it along the floor casting??? I'm mainly fishing with pulley pennel rigs where the hook and bait clips on the impact lead.
Basic_Fishing This cast will put a bait further than you can imagine. I use a similar cast for fishing for plaice when using unclipped baits and plain leads.
When you have time, perhaps you could demonstrate the "Yarmouth Back Swing" I used during the 80's when I fished Watergate Bay, it's a great cast for Xtra distance
im a avid surf caster where can I get those reel devices to hold her to the rod ? also what you use to hold your bait to the hooks as I have issues with my bait flying off with the force of the cast , I use a 13" and a 15 ' rod with a spinner and conventional reel I like your set up im in Los Angeles CA Thanks
Robert vivid if you pick a spot in the sky to look at 45deg up, ie a cloud, before turn to lay the cast out, as you turn into the cast turn to look at this spot and youll release the spool automatically. Dont whatever you do look at the horizon or where you want the lead to land, or youll cast syraight downwards towards this and end up with a huge birdsnest :)
For Long casting 15 foot rod is enough for at least 150 yards?, please guide me as I am planning to a new Fishing rod, I am trying for telescopic 15 feet rod for purchase, please guide me
I have a 15 footer I found it on amazon you need to learn the pendulum cast with a 2 or 3 oz first practice early morn on the beach or in a field my rod is a 4 piece iv ed not tried the telescoping ones I'm thinking of buying one 150 yards is possible using braid line and lots of practice
Be very careful doing this type of cast on a spinning reel without a casting trigger! I got a severe line cut on my finger attempting to hold the line during such a strong cast. Just get a casting trigger on ebay for around $11 and it holds the line securely for you so you can replicate this type of cast using a spinning reel!

Short, sweet, very informative. 👍🏻

Off the ground bait clip from Breakaway Tackle is excellent. I use them all the time.
Aaaannnddd I’ll be trying that today. Thank you
I would like to ask, before using this technique, what is a suitable cast for beginners that will allow them to cast pretty far.
Ill ask one of the sea fishing presenters next time I speak to them and get back to you :)

Hi.Peter.I enjoy watching your show.however I can't get my left and right hand to work together.what suggestions do you have.please
Concentrate more on pulling with the left. Works for me👍

I use pantyhoes myself.
When do you want to let the line go? at the end of the swing ?

Yea or the line will skin the tip of your finger but you will only do this once because pain is a great motivator 😁😁😁😁
all well and good casting off the ground for distance, but surely clipped up baits would come undone prior to casting off the ground.
A 6ft length of guttering serves as a handy launcher

Are you doing casting lessons???
I'm not far from Teignmouth
Greetings from India great information..... give me a good rod from there 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
what rods are you using
What size of line is Recommended?
awesome pete
thanks i get max distince after this video
How much is this rod length?
hey is there any one that can help me out with a reel I don't know how to use
Awesome. Now try that with a live eel. 😉
I dont suppose the bait will stay on tho casting that way as you drag the bait across the floor surely it would come off.
I use pantyhoes to keep my bait on for powerful casts
I need your rod and reel .How much?

Don't try this with a lead anchor tho. You'll regret it instantly. LOL
