First off, thank you for this simple explanation and tutorial! I know this video is 2 yrs old but after struggling with Daphne in Batocera 40, I watched this video and it worked like a charm and extremely simple. I was making it harder than it needed to be. I do have a couple of side notes. Dragons Lair 2 and Galaxy Ranger did not work. The fix is simple, on DL2, in the lair2.daphne folder, just change the dl2-framefile.txt to lair2.txt. On Galaxy Ranger, you need to change the galaxtr.daphne folder to either galaxy.daphne or galaxyp.daphne ( which is the name of the roms in the roms folder), then go into that folder and change the galayr-framefile.txt to galaxy.txt or galaxtp.txt, depending on what you renamed the folder to. All the games work now, but Thayers Quest uses a weird keyboard, so I removed it from my games list. Also, In Batocera 40 at least, you do not need the framefile folder, its empty anyway.
Wow, you made that easy. I haven't seen these play in so long, and wham, it's working on my favorite gaming platform. I came over to Batocera from a few year of heavy RetroPie debugging, and have been so pleased with how easy everything is when setting up and using Batocera, and that it maintains parity across so many platforms. I'm on v35 on an old junker PC, and only DLII doesn't come right up. I think playing is more fun than debugging! I will make some friends very happy with these.

I’ve followed the instructions in v35 Batocera for pi and I can’t get it running. Select the game, it zooms in and then comes back to game selection screen. Any luck?

So you can guess that's the game I went straight to play but typically was one of 3 out of the 17 that wouldn't load. Just upgraded to v36 beta so I'm guessing it's Batocera at fault. Anyhow, thanks again and keep on with these great guides etc as I wouldn't have known how to do this so easily (and it was), it's appreciated. Best regards from the UK mate.
The VDL folder is incorrect search the internet archieve for Daphne Collection by Verevet_dark download lair 2 from there remove the lair 2 folder from this pack and past the lair 2 from the velvet dark romset

Followed the tutorial exactly but the games just skip constantly after I add a credit and press P1 start. I can interact with it but I have zero time to do so since it constantly skips large chunks of playback. Why would this happen?

Nice. I already done Daphne Games recently and it wasn't that hard. Dragons Lair doesn't seem to play correctly. Keeps changing scene every time you die instead of restarting the same scene to retry like it should. All other games play fine. Also noticed recently. "Road Blaster" on the Daphnie is also on the Sega CD as "Road Avenger" The Sega CD version is more pixelated at lover resolution than the crisper Daphnie version.
@@joannemoore64 No. There is even a newer v.2.1 along with this but both versions just play the same. The DAPHNE version is said to be the best but since the emulator doesn't play it correctly your only option is to play one of the many other ports. Since the game has been ported to just about every console, computer and video player.
I realize how old this is. I followed the folder structure but none of my games load in RetroArch for Android. I do have the Daphne core and it SEEMS like it wants to load because I see a green text at the bottom, but then it immediately gives me a failed notification in RetroArch and kicks me back to the menu. Any ideas on what could be the issue?
AWESOME! Everything worked flawless except games are only displayed in upper left corner of screen. doesn't fill full screen. What settings did I get wrong or need to change? Aspect ratio is 16:9 and no change and the set it full screen. Much appreciated. Mahalo. Thanks again!

I literally had no idea that there were games out there like this besides Dragon's Lair & Space Ace 🤣.... incredible... Despite the excellent tutorials, I just can't seem to complete these kind of things. Do you happen to do "custom" builds, to just plug in & play on the TV with a retro/classic controller, & ship em out, to...oh I don't know, maybe a heavily tattooed, newly chubby, depressed, very sick, NY Italian schmuck like myself, if venmo was accepted or whatever? 🤣🤪😅 Just wanna fully relive my crazy youth gamer status before I GO, and have full NES, SNES, GENSIS, SEGA CD, & "arcade" (which could be a million, soooo....I guess, what, "the best" arcade set? 🤷♂️ Lol God this is a pathetic comment)

Supply lines are such a mess I used to have that but no longer do because everyone got limited inventory or incredibly overpriced stock.

Hi, Did you have any joy fixing this. I tried Dragons Lair and if just sprints off in auto mode. You just watch it lose all your lives 🤔

set resolution for daphne to 640x480
All the games are loading up accept dragons lair 2 time warp. Is there a fix for that?
Same for me on that. Dragon's lair 2 does not load
rename the textfile from dl2 to lair2.

no matter what I do or how many times I reconfigure this I cannot get my joystick controller to work with Daphne only my keyboard.
Where is the keymapping located? I cannot get credits or start on my Steam Deck.
