    Another Awesome instructional vid! I bought the Delco polisher, can't wait to use it on the Chevy. Those lights are rough feeling they're going to take a lot off the surface to get right. Are you going to do more of the kit testing? Since you state 3M makes highest quality I'm really interested in the 3m kit to do my cars. Thanks again!! Keep them coming. 🤘🤘👍👍

      Yeah I have about 20 kits in here different ones just haven't got back around to doing them... Wanted to get a stockpile up these other type videos but will be going back to doing a couple of those... Yeah the AC Delco polisher is awesome tool..
      You can also use it in other things as well, I use it in oxidation removal and repair, scratch repair and removal, polish buffing wax, and even water spot removal the tool for focusing in one little spot..
      Thanks for watching....
      More to come soon.

    Thoughts on your 1 coating method versus the directions saying to use 2 separate coats?

    • @theheadlightrestorationpro
      @theheadlightrestorationpro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very good question..
      I learned long ago in the beginning that this isn't so... One code works better for longevity, removal, adherence, and here's the main factor clarity... Not only clarity of light escaping the headlight but clarity upon looks.. can't get too far into it I will have a video coming up on why I do this...
      But I am actually adding all the two and one a heavy coat...
      Awesome question I will do that video soon to explain the reasons that I have come across..
      💯👍🏼😁💥

      There are tons of options I prefer just a cheap ones because they're lighter, I kind of make my own.. I just keep replacing the interface pad gluing it down.. whatever one you use is fine just make sure you have an interface pad at the end... You need to spongy effect.

  • @philip4x4guy

    You do these lights one at a time even under normal circumstances? Or when you're not videoing do you do both steps to both lights at the same time?

    • @theheadlightrestorationpro
      @theheadlightrestorationpro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question... I actually do my work in that sequence whether it's the first one or the second one and that you're seeing in the video I do it left to right right to left usually starting with the worser light, or even sometimes the light that is in heavy sunlight, or away from the direction of the wind mild or strong... I generally do the tape off on both lights.. and then I do one at a time.. I've tried it both at the same time back and forth back and forth until they're finished what happens is you have more drying time, a higher risk of things happening when you hit the ceiling process or clear coating.. and even sometimes both lights are not the same, one is aftermarket the other is OEM, one is more heavily worn or sun damaged, or one has been restored before with some terrible stuff or by someone who didn't do as good a job as you will do,, a lot of scenarios that separate the lights they're never the same.. so I treat them on individual basis. Plus it helps the drying time and your control issue it's a better controlled environment.. you only have to worry about one area... Doing two at once is a little bit overwhelming and spreads your focus too thin...
      I actually filmed a video yesterday of a white Lexus Sportster 400 something or other.. and I actually filmed both headlight restorations and was planning to make this video on this topic so stay tuned..👍🏼💯😎

    Do.s the uv coating chip or fade after time

    • @theheadlightrestorationpro
      @theheadlightrestorationpro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not necessarily.. I say that because any headlight you coat eventually is going to fade it's just a matter of time when, chipping not so much but each headlight goes through different things and I'm sure it's possible but I have not noticed it...
      When I say headlights Will last 2 years 3-4-5..
      I judge those standards on the meticulous person meaning that it might not appear to be as well off as the first day they were done might have a yellowing on a corner or something like that.. but to go bad to the point that they were in this video or whatever bad that the light is should take many many years... When I reference going bad or fading or anything I am talking about 100% picture perfect and how long it stays that way... If that makes sense..
      Thank you..👍🏼

    What do you do if you notice some scratches left over do then go back to the 500 grit or the 800

    • @theheadlightrestorationpro
      @theheadlightrestorationpro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on how severe.. if they're too severe I'd go back over it gently with a p500.. then start with a p800.. but if you're not super bad I would just start with another p800 or keep going back over it but the p800.
