The story, set in 1936, is told through twelve letters and telegrams scattered throughout the queue as well as three newsreels shown before guests board the attraction. Indiana Jones has reunited missing fragments of a map scroll of parchment documenting the precise location of an ancient Bengalese temple. The Temple of the Forbidden Eye, containing countless intriguing artifacts buried beneath silt by a flood of the Lost River Delta over two thousand years ago, is undergoing excavation for archaeological research. The temple deity Mara seems to conditionally offer one of three gifts to all who come to the hallowed site: earthly riches, eternal youth, or visions of the future. The only condition is that one may never gaze into the eyes of Mara. Although Jones' discovery, dubbed the "Temple of the Forbidden Eye" by the media, has set the archaeological community abuzz, his funding has run out. To raise money so the excavation can continue, Sallah has begun conducting guided tours. Good fortune has come to many of the tourists who survive, but others have not returned. Promising to find the missing tourists, Jones ventured inside the temple approximately one week ago, and has not yet reappeared. Jones also hoped to find the temple's power source: the mysterious "Jewel of Power", which Abner Ravenwood believed to be within an immense cavern, beyond the Gates of Doom. Marcus Brody has asked Sallah to continue conducting the tours, in the hope they may locate Dr. Jones.
I had to watch this just to see all the effects that we don't get to see anymore nowdays. I miss a lot of the old original effects.
Of all the lines at Disneyland this is probably the only ride I don't mind waiting in line lol I just love looking at everything

Me too, I got a certificate after the ride as well.
First went on this ride in 1997 and 1998 and last went on it in 2013 I believe. I saw a video of it th-cam.com/video/alPpOf8erfI/w-d-xo.html and boy was this the cherry on top of how the mighty have fallen. It's completely decimated now...I hate disney because of this.
The queue is so interesting and themed, I don't hate waiting in line nearly as much

Someone should create cameras that adjust to the dark and still records in full color. If there are already cameras that do record well even in the dark, make it less expensive, if they are expensive for regular consumers. Night vision really just doesn't work with this ride.

Fun part is when I got to go with my family we got front of the line because of my handicap pass (Before they changed the system). Anyways, we got to front of the line and it was my first time on the ride. My sister and mom both set it up so my friends and I got in the front...I ended up with the steering wheel and being the ditz I am I asked, "Where's my safety bar?" My friend said to me, "The whell is your safety. Don't kill us with your driving!" Nobody told me about the snake and I ended up clawing at my friend's arm in fear...needless to say THAT THIS IS STILL MY ALL TIME FAV RIDE EVER

This was probably my favorite ride in Disney. I went on it about 7 times. Half of those were one riders and the other 2 were fast passes. I was scared of death due to the fire. Yet, when i went on it i absolutely love it! I recommend sitting on one of the ends. It is more scarier, yet, funnier that way.
...I went on this for the first time on my 10th birthday and my friends had already been on it many times. They told me to pull that rope, and I screamed so loud. Then I thought I was going to die. But now I LOVE THIS RIDE!
Fun fact: Disneyland Resorts "Indiana Jones Adventure" Line queue is 1 mile long.

I would get fast pass
Was disappointed to see it was still closed during or 2 day pass. Then, at about 4pm the 2nd day we happened to walk past it 5 minutes after it reopened without warning and got through the whole line in 15 min before it quickly got packed. Great break and great ride.
went on this ride when I was about 7 years old! it was the first time I ever went to Disney land and the ride was a blast. I remember the bridge and I am pretty sure that it was way longer at the time. I remember going onto the ride and nobody was in sight it was just our small family. those were the good times lol! Wow do i miss being young!
I went on this ride and it was so awesome there was a giant boulder at the end and it looked like it was about to fall on you ,but it's just an illuosion .

The rides not that bad and its really fun! Bring some ear buds with you to listen to music in the line, I always do that before Space Mountain.

Love this ride .... Even the wait in line is cool with all the caves and 1940's themes... Such a cool experience ...
The ride's line moves very smooth, and usually on a regular day may take about 45min without fastpass. But, it is definitely worth it. When this ride was built, the Imagineers knew it was going to be popular. Part of the whole experience of the ride is the journey through the line into the temple. It makes the few minute ride, even better.
Companion ride is The Mummy Universal ALL THOUGH that is pure scary and too if you ask me but go on and take the plunge and see for youself!
Love this ride. I think the longest I ever stood in line was about 2 1/2 hours. The group next to me, kept accident bumping into my family and kept accidentally invading our space.

I just went to disneyland yesterday and i loved the indiana jones ride! and i kept on riding it over and over. i love how they set it up! i miss it.. sad to leave that ride

When I was a kid I rode this for the first time. Well I ended up sitting by the steering wheel and my mom told me that I had to drive everyone. I was not prepared. I had never drove anything in my life. I almost cried 😂

Tha Highlight Reel One of the first things my friends and I would do while visiting the park was secure fast passes to Indiana Jones. Get it done early to avoid the hassle later on.

Alan Chavez the bamboo pole is in the temple I think it's when you make the second left turn and there's like a whole bunch of skeletons and sharp spears it's on the left, everyone infront of you will be messing with it lol
This was a great ride and it was definitely the longest line I ever stood in except to see Jurassic Park on opening night in '93

First rode this when I was 3... went back at 18, and it opened up after repairs the day I was flying home... finally rode it again at 20! I love this ride ^_^

I loved this ride. Whenever I go to Disneyland I sprint to this one first! I maybe out of breath by the time I get there but its better than standing in that damn line!

I went on this ride yesterday it was a 35 minute wait . let me just tell you now it's so worth the wait I sat in the front to row it was AWESOME

the line for this ride is almost always long but it's still fun to wait depending on the wait. this is my favorite ride.
Hell yeah man. I had the fast pass and there was no one in the fast pass line but it still took me almost 15 minutes to walk the line. It was crazy! There was literally no one in it but it goes on forever.
