Watched your video before getting mine, and expected it to smell so worse.. But it's pretty good, has a barnyard opening, like you described a ox smell. But after 20 minutes it became very smooth and earthy. I think I'll love this one a lot with the time.

Has the night been reformulated? Because i smelled this other day at the Frederic Malle boutique, and while it was definitely barnyardy, I didn’t get any fecal qualities whatsoever. After 15-20 minutes, it became rather pleasant.

Not all oud smells barnyardy. It depends on the distillation techniques. Middle easter and Indian ouds are fermented, heavily, which tends to create that barnyard smell. Oud is as varied as perfume is. Most are beautiful and more complex than any master perfumer's creation. Hope that you someday will be able to smell at least one of them. In fact, they can train your nose to be able to appreciate even deeper the perfumes that you love, enriching your olfactive palette.
Dont bother, these ignorant ppl are just the kind that these so called niche brands love. The night uses the absolute cheapest shit Oud . And it cracks me up that so many stupid ppl are paying the crazy price for this shit . I have an amazing beautiful Oud perfume that I can’t stop smelling my wrist, and it was only $200 for 30ml. Buy a dot behind each ear is all I need for it to last all day

Perfection! I like this over the Moon. It is very wearable imo and it’s not that animalic imo except for the first 30 seconds or so. Two spar max fragrance for me.
Have you tried Dustia’s Oudh Infini? Now THAT is animalic oud!

U Smells Good dawn is definitely more leathery and woody but all the Arabian Treasures seems variations of the theme . The only other candle I tried was Russian Nights which was nothing special imo but for what they are they’re not worth the money . The french postal service is generally pretty lousy btw , I’ve had parcels take 2 to 3 weeks from France to the U.K. 🤦🏼♂️

I loved it right away the first time I’ve smelled it. Currently is my favourite Oud but it’s too fucking expensive.
I sniffed this one for the first time last week when I picked up POAL and was surprised that I wasn't disgusted by it. Don't really have any experience with oud but after smelling this one I can't get it out of my head. It's like a barnyard wearing a tux, total mind$&%^. And now I want to have one solid oud in my collection that doesn't cost a billion dollars. Are you still enjoying Oud Palao? How does it compare to this one in terms of stank factor?
As a fellow POAL wearer and oud lover, may i recommend Lancome L'autre oud to you... I didnt like Oud Palao at all but ive been wearing the lancome oud for around 6 years ;) let me know what you think cheers

First time I wore this I got a weird or should I say an unfamiliar Oud mixed with rose then it dried down to Portrait Of A Lady with an added oud note,second time I sampled it I enjoyed it more & knew I needed a bottle.Wore it to the mall & I could only imagine what the SA’s that were assisting me must of thought😂🤣🤣
took me two shots to really enjoy this one too lol and im an arab + seasoned oud lover i can only imagine what this perfume smells like to western noses :D lmao

Not gonna lie when I first tried this, there was 0 animalic vibes to it. None whatsoever. To me it was just a beautifully resinous Oud with a nice dry rose and leather. Not dirty at all imo. It’s just gorgeous.
On the back of the label it will have the name, The Night, just like on Promise.
Mate i just come across your page but i fuking love you!!!!!!! The way you described this oud!! First time i have the privilege of smelling this i had to look around to check if i was on a farm!!! Ropion must of had the covid when making this, because he definitely lost his sense of smell on this one!

I had to buy it after i saw your review so i ordered the moon from malles website and The night i found in a group. But ok, its super fuc**ng intesen to say the least. But i dont get poopy diapers and all that fecal. But mayby its becasue i have been loving oud for a while. To me its a true masterpiece as like the Moon. The moon is the best pefume i have had and now the night is paired. the moon is exactly my type, frutiy smokey oudy. Its me in a bottle. But anyway the night is absolutelty stunning, i wear it outside i dont give a f***, f*** you if you dont like my smell. But first time i tried it, i took 2 spray, and had to run around because it was too f***ing strong, unbeliveable. But thats excatly what i want to pay for, sillage, longevity, and quality. I have had alot of rojas, and the cost a fortune and i cant smell myself after 4 hours. I want to smell my own perfume as i when i just took it, atleast 5-8 hours, and than slowly dry down to whats intended. Malle is the first brand to check all of my boxes. The moon, after 8 -10 hours i still get that raspberry,litchi,red smoky oopening but much more smokey. But still almost the same as intial spray. Fucking awesome quality in this juice. The night is same. Absolutely top top notch quality i could not complane on anything. Mayby that its too strong for some, but i want fu**ing nuclear shit. But i really like your reviews on the "expensive" bottles. Thank you! And keep it up!
i have the perfume parlour rendtion, its absolutely gross but sounds like they nailed it, and brings to mind nurse with wound's LP, the musty odour of pierced rectums'

I love it...I sampled it at Barney's in Vegas....The Night is best during bone chilling frigid nights...and during hot and humid summer days with family members and friends u dont like...at all...
It smells like good oud it's that simple I can't tall you it's a masterpiece it's not but a good one if you want to know way it's difficult to satisfy our taste simply because this culture it began since thousands of years it's not fragrances for us as in the western world beside we are used of mixing our perfumes at home every family have their own unique fragrances

I've been known to heavily spray beastmode scents. I always find it funny the conversations people have (I drop in on them, pretend i'm not listening) .. A lot of people don't even recognize it's a fragrance and start talking about what it could be. Some think chemical spills is cause, others just cover their faces in horror 😅

Hindi oud is barnyardy and fecal while oud from Southeast Asia is sweeter/fruitier etc.

Opening is oud (resin) not agarwood.
After 30 min. oud is almost gone and you get velvety rose in a sandalwood base. Very nice fragrance. It shares a DNA with Promise (same perfumer). Overpriced as fuck.
Dusita & Zafar are way more daring that this imo.
