Capcom redemption arc continues. I've been waiting a long time for this game. So glad its getting good reviews. I already got this downloaded on my ps4. Now its just waiting.
I think that the daily gold orb is a good idea, as is the ability to spend red orbs to get back on your feet. The reason is, these guys are shown to be overpowered and god/devil/demon-like, so it makes sense to be able to shrug off what would normally lead to death, and continue with the fighting (with a point deduction for a lower score, of course). It is kind of the perfect difficulty slider even when the difficulty levels are high, as those who would normally give up are still able to finish the game at a high difficulty. That is why I am playing Son of Sparda mode now, instead of not playing it due to there being some levels in which I cannot finish them using only one life. Also, for those who want more of a challenge, and want to finish each stage with one life, they can disregard the orbs and start from the beginning when given that option. But for me, I can fight tough demons in Son of Sparda mode and still know that I will not just have to quit in the middle of the campaign because I simply can't finish some stages.
Devil May Cry has always been an amazing franchise and seeing it brought back to the public eye in such a true way honestly brings tears to my eyes 🙏🏽😭🙏🏽
Capcom is absolutely killing it. One of the best games of 2018 (MHW) now starting out 2019 with RE2 remake and DMC5. Capcom is quickly becoming one of my favorite devs/publishers.

the only game I genuiely enjoyed in the entire year of 2018 was Smash Ultimate (I won't buy DQ11 yet since I am still thinking about buying it for Switch), while there are already 2 games in 2019 that wowed me: KH3 & RE2R. And I must say that DMC5 looks very promising, too. I've also noticed a sudden jump in graphics, ....or is it just me having played too much Switch in 2018 so that I forgot how PS4 graphics are supposed to feel like?

Subhuman, Dante's Battle Theme for this game but not the original recording which had a vocalist with a... criminal record of sorts. I don't like any version of Subhuman to be honest but will give it a chance for one playthrough before installing the alternative songs from the Deluxe Edition.

DMC games actually have a "Turbo" setting in games since 3 which allow you to speed things up separate from the difficulty. No word if this one has it but I imagine enemies are more aggressive.
I've touched dmc2 for about 3 minutes of my life. And that's my whole knowledge of the series. I'm definitely copping this though. It looks crazy good. Any important things to know? What difficulty should I play on? I beat gow on the hardest difficulty if that helps.

Apart from the combat, which was a blast. It was nothing like the previous dmc's. Dmc 5 was missing level designs, puzzles and platforming.

Pick up the hd collection and play 1 and 3 first (you can skip 2). Then play 4. Then 5. The old are great and still hold up. Should not be missed.

switch version of dq11 has orchestral music right away and the pc version can mod it in
