I agree Woody, the timekeeping was an art in itself but it definitely added another element to the enduros. Still miss the old school enduros like bulcher, etc. Sprint enduros are like a cross country race with breaks. The times they are changing for sure. At least we are still able to race our dirt bikes!
Up here in upstate New York, just as you said because everything is private land owned by someone it's all sprint enduros with a couple long format enduros each year in our series. Personally, I'm just happy the series is still alive and I can go and just rip dirt bikes for a while in our great technical woods we have. There seems to be a lot of guys who ride but don't normally race and are excited whenever a sprint enduro is near them to go for a quick race day and have some fun while a long format enduro might intimidate them out. With motocross and XC riding seemingly getting more popular, anything to keep a form of racing specifically with technical yet flowing singletrack (and without ATV's) is welcome by me. As you've mentioned in another video, I believe hard enduro is starting to take the place of long format all day enduros, where it can be a similar level of challenge in that being able to just ride whatever you possibly can is enough without breaking your bike or your body, most of the time without the expectation of even being able to finish. Just my thoughts as a young and relatively new c class enduro guy. Thanks for the fun video as always!
Me myself and I will take any format of racing as long as we get to be able to ride our bikes. It’s getting a little worse for racers all around so I’ll take whatever is left. Awesome job Brian! RIDE ON
I have done a couple of spring enduros and they aren’t bad. I think that have a place in enduro for the fact they give you something different to ride and another part of the discipline to get better at. I prefer restart over any I have ridden cause you have to have endurance to go fast enough long enough and get there before time. The quicker and harder the more rest you have the slower the less or just keep on going if you miss your row. I wish there were more restarts in the TSCEC series like there was when I started racing them a few years ago. I also prefer the longer harder courses as well 70+ miles is a good range or 100nn
I like the Idea of a endurox race. But I think that's why over here in New zealand they have started another series called the sprint series which is just like that 10km(6.2 miles) track.
Excellent video, as always - definitely agree on the endurance in enduro. These events are fun, but they take a different kind if intensity. Long form enduros have you manage your riding throughout the day, wheres the sprints feel just like that - all out sprinting. I know ny tongue was hanging iut sooner than i preferred, and i felt gassed before i got to experience the other loops. Maybe there's room for modifying the format a bit to aid with that? All in all, Sanwinder was a blast, but I cant wait to get back to a more traditional ride (well, as much as we can without having timekeepers - I miss the internal chess player mindset of managing speed through transfers and tests that were not just unrealistically high mph goals). Either way, I'm on board with the mindset! 🤘
E-Bikes need clutches. Correct about TX. I wish we had more access. Tx has to be the be the worst state for access for as big as it is. I totally agree with you on the sprint thing.
Love it! Make enduro hard again!!!
I agree 100% I love the old time keeper enduros! Miss them!
They're all fun.

I was going to say that property access will drive us more towards sprint enduros.

I thought Test #2 was the most fun as well. It was also where I got stuck in the mud for 5+ minutes 😎🤙
We have a 100mile hard enduro in my town. It’s called the “Idaho City 100”. It’s not for the weak 🤘🏼

Two things I love snowboarding and dirt bike riding are non existent where I live.

Sprint enduros came about because of land usage issues, plain and simple
