    So pretty much if you’re on the east coast of the North island as soon as you feel heavy shaking, leave, as a tsunami will be along very very quickly

      I liked the other GNS videos where it's just a scientist explaining things matter-of-factly. This narrator sounds like she is addressing an audience of children.

      Watch for more as there have been deep quakes and serious aftershocks from the 8.1M on 5.3.21

      Regular tremors are good as its gradual release of pressure. What we don’t want is for it all to go quiet. We had a few last week which just oiled the works.

    The tsunami would probably exceed 30 meters in some places. What this simulation doesn’t add in is underwater landslides and pop up faulting that will likely occur.

    its a sad truth that when it does happen there will only be some 10-15mins for any wave to hit the coast, and what size this will be could be similar to Japan
    could be 2m could be 20m but still real, its not if but when, the risk will start at anything above 6.5 and less than 10km depth, the deeper the safer

    People have never learned the lesson of the japan and the thailand indonesia sri lanka tsunamis and still ignorant of what the danger of this natural disasters, locals and tourists and all the travelers around the world must be educated about this phenomenae...from grade schools to colleges tsunami information must be included in our mudules of learning...

    It’s hard to imagine how Auckland would be affected much as the Tsunami would have to wrap right around the Coromandel peninsula and head back in the direction it came from.

    what about the depth of which the plate slips downwards into the ocean, how does that effect the outcome of damage and tusnami? and can you do an overlay of where the tusnami waters reach inland of townships? if the japan tusnami is anything to go by , nowhere to run nowhere to hide
